Following on from what can only be described as a disastrous launch, Bandai Namco has opened up on Season 3 of Tekken 8, acknowledging that the update has fallen short.
"We recognize that the battle experience we intended to deliver has not fully met your expectations," the developer writes in a new blog post.
"Moving forward, we will continue to pursue a battle experience where offense and defense are balanced around the Heat system, allowing players to engage in meaningful mind games and decision-making against their opponents."

As you may already know, Season 3 is being lambasted primarily because it promised a "back to basics" approach, potentially stepping away from the overtuned aggression that was so heavily criticised in Season 2.
It goes without saying that the update hasn't delivered on that promise, with players pointing out a range of questionable balance adjustments.
But if you're hoping to see the developer scrap 3.00, or walk it back to any significant degree, you're going to be disappointed.
The blog post continues: "While maintaining the direction of the Ver.3.00.00 adjustments, we will continue addressing elements that still result in excessive rewards or one-sided gameplay."
So, what's the plan? Well, a smaller "emergency patch" is dropping at some point today (that's the 25th March), which aims to fix "critical bugs and unintended behaviors" that were introduced via Season 3.
We assume this means things like Feng Wei's insanely bugged Heat Smash — which allows him to use it repeatedly — will be addressed.
After that, you're waiting until "mid-April" for the next main update. This one's going to start digging into balance tweaks, and "adjustments to behaviors that result in excessive rewards, and performance tuning centered on the Heat system".
Another update, targeting "late spring" will attempt to do the same, while taking even more feedback into account.
