Re: Big Budget, Free-to-Play Looter Shooter The First Descendant Finally Drops in July on PS5

@Northern_munkey : Right... you don't have to purchase the microtransanctions but that means you will be playing with an interior version...do you like playing with inferior versions of the games?.....would you like other people to see you playing with an inferior version of the game?...I'm sure you don't.

That's exactly the reason these Free-to-Play games exist, to make sure you later on pay for what it should have been in the game from the beginning.

@DennisReynolds
"its just in the age of DLC they don't need to sell you the same game again just with a few extra characters and new mode"

You mean like every single remake PlayStation is being releasing for the past 10 years?

Yes, Capcom is the worst by far, but Sony surely learned to be just as bad...I mean how many The Last Us remasters/remakes a human being can possibly need?

@Aladin_Run : I personally prefer to game on consoles, but it's actually cheaper to game on PC in the long run as their games go on sale far more often that it does on consoles.

With that said, the more PlayStation gets to release their superior ports on PC the more people are going to hold back to play them on PC instead.

Before it used to be years before the PlayStation PC ports now we have them being announced months later eventually it will be Day and Day simultaneous releases.

Everyone wins, PlayStation gamers get to play the games, Microsoft gets full revenue from PlayStation gamers and GamePass subscribers get to keep gaming for a fraction of the price.

A total win-win situation!

@Juanalf : Live Service games are a slippery slope for the industry, you say "better have games like this as live service and leave the single player games/studios alone." but there's no stopping on where publishers are willing to draw a line, sadly any LIVE-SERVICE game success is and will be used on any franchise the more people support it.

It's business 101.

Not long ago 99% of most gamers were against pay-to-unlock content, but those same people are now embracing LIVE-SERVICE games which technically is the same model just with a different name... yes they make it look like you can have fun with the base game and not buy anything but how much fun can you possibly have with a game that its "cool" content is locked behind a paywall?

One way or another people cave into the additional purchases.
