Re: Video: PS4's Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission Is Ace

Furtin

Such a shame! I bought the season pass long time ago. And PSN states that I've installed it. Battlefront though, states that its not installed - there you have it. No DLCs for me (imagine the sadest face).

Will write EA and look up reddit, I might not be the only one, who migrated from PS4 to pro with this poo.

Edt: now that was fast(gotta really love reddit!). If anyone else encounter this issue. Go to 'manage game' that i the main menu where the games are listed. Under the game there are add-ons and yes, thats complicated as hell, you need to download everyone from the psnstore. Not that it would've been a good idea to do this directly from the game (where everything is locked and states that you need to buy a season pass)...

Or check this link to the subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/5gsqr3/season_pass_owner_here_anybody_else_has_this_on/

Shesh, EA really knows how to complicate things....

Re: You Can Try Titanfall 2 For Free on PS4 Later This Week

Furtin

@wiiware I think they did everything right and so suggests the critics.

It all boils down to its miserable release date, really. Considering that they wont charge you for DLC! No Season Pass! No Microtransactions fee-to-pay style! We as gamers, have to set an example by buing this fine product.

Gosh, I sank my money in so much other miserable games but this one really, really deserves it. It's such a shame.

Re: You Can Try Titanfall 2 For Free on PS4 Later This Week

Actually I think the campaign lenght was just right. It wasn't bloated like oh so many other games out there. It did what it had to tell and that felt top notch and fresh, imho.

But then I'm one of those guys who takes his time and enjoy the vistas and the world and such ... in other words: I'm not rushing through it.

Re: You Can Try Titanfall 2 For Free on PS4 Later This Week

Furtin

Everyone who's on the fence should at least try it!

It has one of the best campaigns out there, with great leveldesign and a lot of love for details. I'm on my second playthrough on a harder difficulty and also sank several hours into multiplayer - and completely ignored my friends who play battlefield 1 (as I did before this)!

Thumbs up!

Re: Talking Point: Why Are Fall's Biggest Blockbusters Flopping?

Furtin

My guess: it comes down to fatigue and focusing on a special kind of game. You got Overwatch? You'll spend most likely all of your time there and won't bother with BF1 or CoD or Titanfall2.

On top of that, all of the above games require serious commitment to get satisfactory results. 3 shooters in a row? Who thought it will work out well? Watch Dogs2 though seems not very appealing but maybe thats just me.

We need more diversity! My GOTY: Thumper VR

(Also, that fatigue shows in people buying nes classic mini like hot prezels)

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS4 Pro?

Furtin

Just ordered Tomb Raider and Titanfall2 now. Wanted to wait till the beauty sits at home....

Battlefield 1 though: gorgeous mother of beautiful pixels! Its mindblowing.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS4 Pro?

Furtin

Its hard to be in love with the Pro, since she isnt placing special emphasis on being a Pro, really. At least she's much quiter than my old lady.

Driveclub VR is better, although not by a mile. But I couldnt be bothered since racing with a wheel in VR is just all I need to be happy. And Rez. And Thumper.

Although I must admit that its a huge bummer, why she can not turn old games into better ones (with a little help of the develoers and Sony of course). There she is, powerful and grand. But she refuses to use that power somehow. Thats odd. Really.

Re: Guide: The Best 4K UHD HDR TVs for PS4 Pro in 2016

Furtin

Dont want to come over as a superdouche but shouldn't you focus on the input lag and HDR-mode input lag for games, as a gaming centric website first and foremost?! All those listed tellies, have less information as found in the amazon links you provided. What kind of a rushed overview is this? Sorry but thats how it looks like...

A bit more indepth for those who are willing to spend some good money now:

Re: Video: Does Gran Turismo Sport Look Better on PlayStation VR Than DriveClub?

Furtin

@solocapers well, gaming is just a small portion of uses for VR. The industry as a whole is gaining attention by heaps of companies and producing news on a daily basis.

VR is here to stay, alongside AR. In the not to distant future everyone will see it as totally normal to have such light and hi-res mobile devices, to do realtime conversations across the globe in virtual-private rooms with avatars. (Oculus has started working on it). Handtracking, easy to use tracked devices and bodyparts, foveated rendering for precise eye-to-eye contact and improvements of ressources, allowing 4k per eye, etc....

But you need to start somewhere. (Remember the DK1?) And choose if you want to be a part of what marks the beginning of a new tech era. And enjoy it for what it is.✌️️

Re: Video: Does Gran Turismo Sport Look Better on PlayStation VR Than DriveClub?

Furtin

@solocapers sure, there may be a lot of folks that don't feel the need to keep their PSVR. They jumped in not knowing what to expect. And what you get is exactly 1st gen VR, in a nice package. With lots of games and experiences from the getgo. There are lots of Vive and Rift owners who also bought into PSVR just to enjoy some exclusives (reddit/psvr).

Prices will come down, headsets will get lighter and with higher resolution somewhere down the line. VR is here to stay. It will only get better. This is early adopter level, so yes, its not perfect by any means...

Re: Video: Does Gran Turismo Sport Look Better on PlayStation VR Than DriveClub?

Furtin

@solocapers VR is just an enhancement to gaming and experiences. After playing BF1 for a couple of evenings, I just had the itch to be in VR again and kicked around in EVE Valyrie - and it was great fun indeed! (Also because I tend to have less motion sickness in the support class).

I also have a GearVR/S6. I dont use it every day of course. But when I watch a 3D movie or The Expanse on Netflix on it, its just an awesome experience! Thats at least how I approach VR...

In other terms: you need a PSVR, a Pro, AND a 4k HDR10 (lagfree) telly. And a new job

Re: Feature: Should You Buy the PS4 Pro?

Furtin

Can you get into a bit more detail on VR?
Many of us are hesitant to know how it improves titles like DriveclubVR or EVE Valkyrie and such. Maybe a "through the lens" screenshot comparison or something would help...

Re: Video: PS4 Pro Is the Quietest PlayStation 4 to Date

Furtin

I'm puzzled. Would be great if the Pro would be quiet since I find the vanilla PS4 a bit hefty. But DF stated that you can hear it across the room...

And no, I dont think cranking up the volume makes any sense:
I'm running my washingmachine to drown out my vacuum cleaner to drown out my new Pro... is not what a hardwaremaker has intended...

Re: Feature: How PS4 Pro Will Bring Bullshot Quality Visuals to Your Home

Furtin

Finally! After decades of jaggies, we can enjoy clean images on consoles! I found that bad AA was always the most destracting factor in a game. I really wonder what it will do to some VR titles...

P.S.: To all those "scorpio" lovers: nobody (MS and developers aside) knows whats coming and until than we really can enjoy supergraphics with a real product for reasonable money, instead of waiting for some teased superpixels and theoretical teraflop.

@JaxonH "as you get older you gravitate away from wanting everything to be "manly"."

Well, in 12 years you are at my age. Maybe you see the world through other eyes by then ...

And by the way: there is a huge difference between Nintendo's art style and this. Not even worth mentioning in the same sentence. Nintendo are masters at creating believable characters with a sophisticated art style.

Re: Review: Wayward Sky (PS4)

What I like the most about the game is the desk!πŸ˜‚
Throwing the ball....

No really, its good to see developers entering the Playstation VR with such great little games. Its no AAA by any means but its solid graphic style and sound makes it a good pick for VR enthusiasts.

Re: Review: Tethered (PS4)

Furtin

Uh! I must agree with what Sammy said: the art style is off-putting, at least for me. If it had a Halo Worlds Sci-Fi look, or Medievil. Or anything grittier and not so childish looking, I might've bought it. From the looks of it, its more aimed at the younger generations. Much much younger generations...

Re: Video: Having a Ball with Titanfall 2 on PS4

Furtin

Really, what where they thinking releasing it so close to BF1? I mean both games require map knowledge and lots of playtime to get the mechanics down properly. A switch between games in similar categories never work out well!

I like Mechs and all but I'm into VR at the moment. And into BF1. Might pick it up when I have the Pro, so I can at least enjoy prettier graphics when I dive in....
