Re: The Last of Us Remastered Readied for PS4 Pro Release

@Orpheus79V
I should have worded that better, sorry mate. I wasnt suggesting ND were making money from the update, just from the first remaster. My issue was that an update of an already remastered game seems pointless to me. I like to see the hardware pushed to its limits, not used to spruce up or re-release old games. Id much rather see full backwards compatibility & play the original title in full nostalgic glory than pay for a remaster. Maybe thats just me.

"They expressed themselves in a way that only people high on their creation would. They overpromissed, overspoke etc etc."

I think you're spot on there. They are a small indie team, the hype snowballed, they couldnt believe they were realising their dreams, they didnt know how to downplay it so just went along with it. You can see the moments hesitation before Murrays answer to questions regarding the games features.. such as "will the wildlife eat each other?" & "can you play with your friends?" he just says what he thinks people want to hear, like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Not realising the hole he was digging for himself & his team..

Re: UK Retailer GAME Defends Paid PlayStation VR Demos

Jokes aside.. Surely the whole point of VR is experiencing it yourself? Its not something you can put across in a review or on a video. How else are outlets supposed to sell units, other than unboxing new units & letting people have a go? Those units cost them sales, & see no harm in them recouping some of their losses by charging a fiver to let people try it. Its completely new tech, its not like they're charging people to try the latest AAA title.

100% agree with everything you just said chap.. & EA are either the worst culprits or just the most obvious candidate.. another being 2K with their WWE franchise. Its a sad state of affairs.
@AFCC there will be more maps, but expect to pay for them..

Not at all, big titles like Witcher 3 & GTA5 id rather play on console as i'd need a decent rig to run them otherwise. I can enjoy the massive indie market on my mid-range PC & games like the new Red Dead, Horizon Zero dawn etc on my PS4 not having to worry about forking out for a new GPU. As @AD-80 said, the last Red Dead didnt even make it onto PC.. I know what procedurally generated means btw I was just referring to NMS..

Yeah i know, I game on PC too mainly for the mods, & the 4X strategy exclusives etc. The whole masterrace thing is embarrassing to say the least. I bought a PS4 because I could play online with my buddies & not worry about scripters etc, or have to deal with missing .dll's & whatnot. I dont doubt that the new RDR will come to PC eventually.

PC players do their utmost to distance themselves from the rest of the gaming community with their superiority complex then are the first to complain when a title is console exclusive.. Even just at launch. They get a sh*t ton of exclusives we dont & have the lions share of indie products too.. Cant have it all, chaps.

@NoCode23
Calling for weapons delivery on the fly is not great, the game is set in the 60's.. Also the growing trend for 'tagging' enemies through walls like Robocop is starting to worry me.

@LieutenantFatman
Oh I 100% agree.. Wasn't there something with EA and IGN a couple of years ago? I can't imagine any scenario where some randomer with a popular video channel is given a pre-release copy of a high-profile title and is allowed to say whatever they want about it, good or bad. I'd imagine they're just told to demo the game, not give an opinion or final score. Either way, even without commentary those watching will be able to see for themselves if the game is what they expect of a 'finished' release.
