The last GT I played was the very first on the PS1 & sank hundreds of hours into it, & im not even much of a racing fan..! Looking forward to this.

Damn, tell me about it. Im crying out for a game that doesnt make you a god among men.. The prophecy says you are the chosen one.. Two main quests in: "You're the Pathfinder".. "You're.. Dragonborn!".. "You're.. the Inquisitor!" Bla bla bla.. When is an RPG gonna put you on a level playing field & make you work to fulfill your destiny & not hand it to you in the first five mins?

I never expected it to run smoothly, Bioware's games have always had their choppy moments. I could live with it, but I never planned on getting this anyways.

Agreed, most of those characters wouldnt look out of place in Oblivion. Okay, im being harsh.. Maybe Fallout 4.

The girl in Sammy's gif might be the most generic looking character ive seen in a game. Even the NPC's in other games are more interesting.. I know she's just a template for your character but c'mon.. Especially since shes in their trailers etc.. Just a little imagination?

It'll get high scores.. IGN will give it a 9 at least. Then a week or two down the lines I think the cracks will show.

For a game that apparently has thousands of lines of dialogue (as per a recent article on PSQ) they really need to do better than this. Looking at that mess every 10mins or so is a deal breaker for me im afraid.

Funky / robotic animation is a given for Bioware. Seems they cant make an RPG that doesnt involve three people following you at all times, either.

@Galvatron I was surprised no one here had already suggested it. R* recorded an all-time record no. of players in Dec'16. How many games can say that three & a half years after release.. & a last-gen title, too. The last three major updates have collectively been worth full game price IMO, yet all have been free. R* are onto a winner with this one.

GTA: Online is the reason GTAV is still selling.

A season pass for DLC is no different to pre ordering the main game. We see examples all the time why this is a bad idea.

The engine & animations in these games are shocking, reminds me of the original Resident Evil on PS1. Wooden movements, long pauses in cutscenes etc. However this hadnt even occured to me until I just read this article, which speaks volumes for the storytelling. None of that stuff matters if you can be fully engrossed in a game.

They're called 'schoolgirls' mate. That might be the reason westerners (as you call them?) might find it distasteful. Not many people realise posession of CP in Japan has actually only been illegal since very recently.. 2014 I think. This is a country you can buy used girls underwear from vending machines on the high st. Its a different world in that respect.

Im really hyped for this. Its clearly not a Resident Evil game per se, its got the title purely for brand recognition. That trailer is a complete mess though.

Got way too many story rich open world games to play at the moment..

Shame the stiff animations havent moved on much.. I was hoping for something a little more fluid this time around. The environments look great though.

That doesn't leave us much does it? anything VR or Indie, & possibly Horizon Zero Dawn.

Your right, and this is what worries me. Instead of buying a AAA-title thats 80% complete with the rest being patched, how long before its 50%..? Its slowly spiralling out of control on Steam with hundreds of throw-away projects that have two or three man teams working part time that despite having bags of potential.. will clearly never be finished. Given the way this scenario turned out I honestly think NMS would have benefitted from it though (£49.99 for an indie title..?!) & there wouldnt have been such backlash, but hey no one could have predicted how it'd end.

I hope your right about it never coming to consoles too..!

It should have just been a Steam early access title, since thats the state it was released in. Then ported to console after full release. Then no one could have complained about missing features as they would have paid about £10-20 for it.
Though saying that, how long before the early access model invades console territory? Theres a sobering thought

After you've completed the story theres still the beast that is GTA: online.. I still keep coming back to it now & its still getting major updates.

Currently enjoying survival mode so this is welcome news. I'm more interested in mods that make subtle improvements than those that add external assets anyways. Shame theres no script extender though.

&Bhattiboy I honestly think survival mode makes this game, but then I enjoy realism in games. Its definetely not for everybody though.

As a rule I wont group with anyone with an ID containing the word 'swag' in any form.. So yeah I guess usernames matter to people.

Happy with my 1080p telly & from what ive heard the pro doesnt improve on it noticeably so im good with my slim PS4.

I'm not making any direct comparison because the two games hold a seperate place in my heart.. But five years later I just cant go back to Skyrims combat & enemy AI, especially after The Witcher 3. I still have various combat mods on my PC version that make for a much more engaging experience. If they'd made an effort to add a few extra features such as improved UI & menu's & maybe just tweaked the AI, keeping the vanilla experience then this would have been worth paying full price for. As the review says though, if you've never played it this will destroy your social life

Just three pics posted by Rockstar had more impact & kicked up more discussion than a full trailer by Bioware..

Off topic slightly, but your comment reminded me of a Steam user review for EVE: Online. His review just said: "i think im getting the hang of it now.." (he had clocked up over 1500 hrs in-game)
On topic.. For me the single thing that seperates these two behemoths is immersion factor (eyes rolling abound, i know..) In TW3 you are Geralt, & no matter how bad-ass he may be, he'll never be MY skinny Khajit archer thief who somehow existed in Morrowind, Oblivion & Skyrim. For me, no narrative can top the one that im allowed to play out myself

In my opinion, thats pretty much what this series is. I got bored near the end of the 2nd game.. Guess some franchises just arent for everyone.
