Damn, this looks like the fighter i've been waiting for since Bushido Blade. Lets hope they iron out the creases cause this looks like a must-buy.

@Galvatron Nah, £13.99 is the base game, not including the Horizons expansion.

You can land on planets & explore in an SRV, but theres not as much to do on them yet, except scan for data to trade in for credits. Also they're mostly devoid of life, but i'll take that over what i've seen of NMS's 'wildlife' anyday.

Instead of endless procedurally generated randomness, Frontier have recreated our galaxy, the map is the biggest ive seen in a game, ever. Its pretty impressive tbh.

Theres character customisation, & in free look mode you can look down & see yourself i.e your not a floating camera like in most FPS, its very immersive but you can't hop out on foot. IMO the game is no worse off for it, if anything I think that'd detract from the experience.

Sorry for straying off topic..!

Edit: NMS was £49.99 on release, Elite is £40 at full price, with the expansion, & they are still updating it..

They deserved criticism at launch, but didnt deserve as much as they got IMO. Now they deserve some credit too for trying to deliver, when so many devs (steam early access..) would have just cut their losses & left it to rot. It definetely wasn't worth the retail price at launch, though, & I cant see many people buying a copy now.

I bought this as I enjoyed the demo, its actually a lot of fun trying out the different classes though I wish crafting was more essential to progress, other than upgrading your weapons & armor.

No.3 is far and away the best for me so far, but i'm still having a lot of fun in 4. They need to do away with the OTT handholding HUD, the color coded enemies / allies, and the ability to track enemies through freakin' walls (who came up with that anyways?)

Psyched for this..!

Re: Poll: Should Sony Allow Early Access Games on PS4?

@sketchturner
Yep.. Developers get paid for people to bug test their game, rarely listen to feedback, and then abandon the project because they made more money than they expected, couldnt be bothered anymore, or because they got bought out by a bigger company, or lead developer had a baby.. You name it.

Re: Poll: Should Sony Allow Early Access Games on PS4?

FaultyDroid

I've been playing games on Steam since early access was introduced. There's been several titles which have been worth time invested.. Probably about 15% of which made it to full release. On console? NO. Just.. no. It's bad enough paying £50 for an unfinished game on full release, and that without f'n pre-order bonuses, season passes etc.. No. Grr..

@ShogunRok
That sort of structure reminds me of Dead Rising, it sounds restrictive on paper but makes for an addictive experience. Cant wait to give this a go, JRPGS are not normally my cuppa tea but you cant ignore a 10, or that sort of art direction.

To all those thinking the issues will be patched, your going on the wild assumption that this development team are of that mindset. CD Projekt Red were making changes a long way down the line & provided two fantastic expansions, because they cared about their product.

Dont assume Bio/EA are under any obligations..
