@Neolit That is the ONE recurring thing I keep hearing: "i've paid for it three times over"
I'm tempted to jump in, to see what the fuss is about. However I know now Bungie have their loyal following from the prequel, & they will milk them for every last dime.
@Galvatron Nah, £13.99 is the base game, not including the Horizons expansion.
You can land on planets & explore in an SRV, but theres not as much to do on them yet, except scan for data to trade in for credits. Also they're mostly devoid of life, but i'll take that over what i've seen of NMS's 'wildlife' anyday.
Instead of endless procedurally generated randomness, Frontier have recreated our galaxy, the map is the biggest ive seen in a game, ever. Its pretty impressive tbh.
Theres character customisation, & in free look mode you can look down & see yourself i.e your not a floating camera like in most FPS, its very immersive but you can't hop out on foot. IMO the game is no worse off for it, if anything I think that'd detract from the experience.
Sorry for straying off topic..!
Edit: NMS was £49.99 on release, Elite is £40 at full price, with the expansion, & they are still updating it..
They deserved criticism at launch, but didnt deserve as much as they got IMO. Now they deserve some credit too for trying to deliver, when so many devs (steam early access..) would have just cut their losses & left it to rot. It definetely wasn't worth the retail price at launch, though, & I cant see many people buying a copy now.
I bought this as I enjoyed the demo, its actually a lot of fun trying out the different classes though I wish crafting was more essential to progress, other than upgrading your weapons & armor.
No.3 is far and away the best for me so far, but i'm still having a lot of fun in 4. They need to do away with the OTT handholding HUD, the color coded enemies / allies, and the ability to track enemies through freakin' walls (who came up with that anyways?)
@sketchturner Yep.. Developers get paid for people to bug test their game, rarely listen to feedback, and then abandon the project because they made more money than they expected, couldnt be bothered anymore, or because they got bought out by a bigger company, or lead developer had a baby.. You name it.
I've been playing games on Steam since early access was introduced. There's been several titles which have been worth time invested.. Probably about 15% of which made it to full release. On console? NO. Just.. no. It's bad enough paying £50 for an unfinished game on full release, and that without f'n pre-order bonuses, season passes etc.. No. Grr..
@ShogunRok That sort of structure reminds me of Dead Rising, it sounds restrictive on paper but makes for an addictive experience. Cant wait to give this a go, JRPGS are not normally my cuppa tea but you cant ignore a 10, or that sort of art direction.
@Jake3103 I'm exactly the same mate. I cant have a row of games all the same height on my shelf with a steelbook standing a few mm taller than the rest.. I dont care how beautiful it is..! A whole shelf of steelbooks? Now we're talking..
Two genres I barely ever play, let alone buy.. Racers & beat em up's.. & yet both your features for GT Sport & Tekken have peaked my interest. These both look phenomenal..!
To all those thinking the issues will be patched, your going on the wild assumption that this development team are of that mindset. CD Projekt Red were making changes a long way down the line & provided two fantastic expansions, because they cared about their product.

Re: Review: Absolver (PS4)
Damn, this looks like the fighter i've been waiting for since Bushido Blade. Lets hope they iron out the creases cause this looks like a must-buy.
Re: Sony's Announced Some Killer New PS4 Controller Colours
@kyleforrester87

Cheers for the reply..!
Re: Don't Actually Know What Destiny 2 Is? This Overview Trailer Has You Covered
I actually have no freakin clue what Destiny is, other than a FPS-MMO. Never once looked into it..
Re: Soapbox: Why PS4's Big 2017 Titles Handle Female Leads the Right Way
@Ralizah But it's refreshing to see in a game, a humanised character, instead of the default bad ass one liner response to every situation.
Re: Gamescom 2017: PlayStation VR's Going Really Well, Says Sony
I honestly thought the tag line said "Sony bullsh*t on headsets success"

Elite Dangerous is bargainous at £13.99.. For anyone looking for a more realistic NMS.

Re: Four Years After Launch, Grand Theft Auto Online Just Had Its Best Quarter
@get2sammyb Going by the charts, people are still buying the base game in order to play online. I'm sure thats a hefty percentage of their income too.
Re: Space Combat Sim Dreadnought Enters Open Beta Today on PS4
Its gonna take a lot to get me away from Elite Dangerous tbh..
Re: PlayStation Plus Prices Are Increasing in UK and Europe Next Month
Firmware 5.0 better be bloody good.

That character model & hair mesh look straight out of Honey Select.

Re: Gold PS4 Slim to Bring a Bit of Bling to Retail
Thats actually not bad.. Though i'd prefer a brushed steel / aluminium look.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Has Shipped an Absolutely Insane 80 Million Copies
Once again, not a single mention in the article or the comments about GTA:Online. Thats why this game is still in the charts..

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Shows Darth Maul Do Battle with Yoda
@get2sammyb
I was under the impression that was canned? I'm holding out for the spiritual successor to KOTOR (& not another force unleashed..)
Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Shows Darth Maul Do Battle with Yoda
When is someone going to make a true AAA StarWars title for current gen, & not just another game wrapped in a SW frock?
Re: Talking Point: Is It Time for Sony to Take PS4 Pro Seriously?
Considering what sort of pricetag the Scorpio will have to carry to justify all that hardware, I dont think the Pro needs to be pushed at all tbh..
Re: Feature: HyperPlay RPG Issue 3 Is a PlayStation Special Fanzine Bursting with Nostalgia
Breath of Fire 3 is my all time fave RPG. Wish PSN had a retro back catalogue of PS1 titles so I could play it again.
Re: Why Is Persona 5 Streaming and Sharing Banned?
It's pretty f'n cheeky that they're blocking a function on the PS4 that we paid for.

Re: Atlus Blocks PS4 Share Button in Persona 5 to Avoid Spoilers
Pointless complaining about spoilers in the age of social media tbh.
Re: BioWare Will Share Plans For Mass Effect: Andromeda Based on Feedback Next Week
Fair play to them for at least acknowledging it.. Not burying their collective heads in the sand like Hello Games did.

Kojima tweeted this too but he's probably just stirring the pot..

I'm gonna be that guy & call an epic fake. That '2' looks like it was added by someone who just bought photoshop. Could have done better..!
