In case you haven't heard, Mass Effect: Andromeda has some rather dire animations. "Par for course as far as BioWare is concerned," you may say to yourself, but based on what we've seen, Andromeda is somehow worse than the developer's previous efforts. Some of it is just downright awful.

Obviously, stuff like this isn't something that EA or BioWare want people to be focusing on before the game launches next week, but once the internet buries its talons into something, it rarely lets go. With that in mind, it's at least admirable that lead designer Ian Frazier hasn't shied away from the issue.

Over on Twitter, the developer was asked whether the dodgy animations would be rejigged as part of the title's day one patch. Frazier replied: "At day 1? No, that ship has sailed. We'll have more patches later on, but exactly what goes into them is still in discussion." There's always a chance that BioWare will attempt to do something to improve the game's animations, but if such a thing's actually possible, then it sounds like it won't be happening anytime soon.

What do you make of Andromeda's animations? Have they put you off the game, or do you think this whole thing is overblown? Don't tell us your face is tired in the comments section.
