More publishers should consider doing sales like this for games that are underappreciated. I would never have bought this game at full or even half the price, but now I did. And they got a little bit of money.
Well, is he going to bring an entire team with him? As far as I know, he doesn’t actually do any engineering or art or other tech that goes into making a game.
The show is just way too long with so many similar games that are hard to distinguish from each other. It really needs more variety in terms of genres.
I think it’s inevitable that games would go in this direction, although it may seem unpopular right now. Imagine our grandchildren simply prompting an AI with what they’re in the mood to play and it cooks up something on the fly. In the meantime, this is why we rely on you, Push Square, to tell us what’s actually worth playing until they get it right.
I actually would have liked to try a Horizon MMO – it’s such an interesting world if they put the right spin on it and allow you to do other stuff than fight robot dinosaurs. You could earn a reputation as a talented cook searching the land for recipes and ingredients. Or something like that.
My fondest memories of SEGA games are all in the racing genre. They did some really amazing stuff back in the day. I’m sure the developers who actually worked on them have moved on, but I’d still be interested if Daytona, SEGA Rally, or Virtua Racing were revived in addition to Crazy Taxi.
My PS5 works perfectly fine so if Sony wants to sell me on a Pro, they need to show some software that takes advantage of it. Until then, my wallet stays closed.
@Amusei Yes exactly, but they’re hitting some kind of uncanny valley here that rubs me the wrong way when realistic graphics meet janky animation. This is on PS5 after all, it’s not like they couldn’t detect that the character is up against a wall and should react to that.
This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but the juggling against the wall at the 1 min mark really bothers me. With such realistic graphics, why does this have to look so bad? At least they could have added a little variation instead of repeating the same animation?
Of course, I’m still looking forward to the game and Kuma’s cool and all.
I don’t see any mention of the aggressive monetization in Push Square’s review. Were they added after launch or is that an oversight on the reviewer’s part?
Maybe I’m just getting old, but the amount of killing in the majority of the games on display made everything blur together to the point where I was unsure what I was looking at. It felt like a nice breather whenever a racing game or platformer showed up 😅
I’ll wait for them to actually show some games that take advantage of the new hardware before considering an upgrade. I’m perfectly happy with the base model as is.
This is a great month for me. I loved the first Jurassic World Evolution, but never picked up the sequel. Trek to Yomi also managed to fly under my radar.
I found a good deal on Corsair’s MP600 Pro LPX 2TB. My internal storage has been maxed out for quite some time so I’m looking forward to not having to manage it all the time.
I was hoping for Criterion to bring back some of the magic from their previous Need for Speed games. This trailer just makes me feel old 😄 I guess I can always go back to the excellent Hot Pursuit remaster.
I was a big fan of Top Gear Rally on the N64, but never played any of the older SNES titles. This might be worth a go if there’s more to the games than nostalgia.
Alex Kidd was my first ever console game, built into the Sega Master System way back in the day. I don’t expect it to be any good, but I’d like to try it again for the nostalgia.
I like Geoff, I really do. And I’m sure he’ll deliver a great show some day, but that was not today. Thinking about this, I’d actually like to see Geoff host a dedicated Sony event with first party exclusives. I’m sure that would beat seeing Jim Ryan on stage.
What kind of monetization does this have? I hope they just sell costumes or something like that. If it’s pay-to-win then I’m not going to bother checking this out.

Re: This Underappreciated PS4 Fighter Can Be Yours for Less Than a Dollar
More publishers should consider doing sales like this for games that are underappreciated. I would never have bought this game at full or even half the price, but now I did. And they got a little bit of money.

Re: Game of the Year Contender Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Targeting April PS5 Release
I’ll be getting both Indy and Forza. Having them release back-to-back shouldn’t really matter since they’re in completely different genres.

Re: God of War Remasters Could Be Coming to PS5 as Series Celebrates 20th Anniversary
This is what Bluepoint should have been working on. Proper remasters of the original games like they did with Uncharted.

Definitely a highlight compared to the many bland-looking shooters that were on display.

Re: Consoles Here to Stay, PS5 to Be Supported into Next-Gen, Says PlayStation CEO
Let’s see what the PS6 can do. If there’s little reason to upgrade, I’ll just keep my PS5. I don’t mind saving money, Sony.

Re: 14 Games on the Way to PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
I decided to downgrade to Essential when I had to renew last week. Pretty happy with that decision right now.

Re: Plastic Football Title LEGO 2K Goooal! Now Also Rated in Taiwan
They better keep the micro transactions in their pants this time around. That sort of thing has no place in a LEGO game.
Re: Explore Hong Kong in Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown's First Gameplay, Beta Coming Soon
Why does this have an 18 rating?
Gameplay looks a little bland to me… virtually empty streets/ locations and no damage model on the cars.
Re: Another Six-Month Apple TV+ Free Trial Available Now on PS5, PS4
Doesn’t work for me. It says I already used my free trial. I don’t have Apple One.
