Definitely not my thing, but I hope folks who have been looking forward to it have a great time with it.

I'm opting for the Switch 2 version - I adore my Playstation consoles, but I'm a Nintendo gamer at heart - but I'm definitely going to be picking this game up.

If they do this portable PS6 like a Series S and make it weaker and cheaper than a dedicated TV PS6, I think it's a good move. Otherwise, though...I can't see Sony doing well with a weaker system. Nintendo can go with weaker and cheaper hardware because their first party games are enough to drive sales, but Sony doesn't have that advantage especially with their games starting to come to PC. If your options are a weak console; a weak console that plays Mario, Smash, and Zelda; and a powerful console, I can't see anyone going for the first option.

I absolutely adore Gears of War and have played every game (including Tactics) at least once. I was stoked to play through the original again, and since it's a novel idea to me to have first party Microsoft games on PlayStation, I went PS5 over Series X on this one (plus I have GamePass, so if I really want to play on Series X, I still can).

What if - crazy idea - you made a new game?

Those stupid *** skins are the reason I've shifted away from COD and back to Battlefield. If I wanted stupid skins, I'd play Fortnite.

I've always been a bigger fan of Battlefield than Call of Duty, but I'll be getting both although may not at launch. Both are going to be a good time.

I'd love to see this come to Switch 2, but if it doesn't, my PS5 and I will definitely take a trip to Jurassic Park.

Even for nine characters, $30 feels excessive, let alone for six characters.

I'll definitely pick it up - I've been a huge Battlefield fan since 1942 - but I'll have to wait and see how it is on release before I decide how much I'm willing to pay for it. I got burned by jumping on 2042 too soon.

@Lowdefal If they give me a product I want, they're not a scam. If they took my money and never delivered the product, that would be a scam, but that's not the case.

I absolutely love Doom, and this game is no exception; I'm having a BLAST. I'm playing it on Game Pass, but I'm absolutely going to buy at some point although probably after a price drop; gotta have it on my Xbox shelf!

@twitchtvpat The problem isn't deception; as you've noted, they've been clear from day one that the systems won't play PS3 games. the problem, at least for me, is that there's no legitimate reason for that. As R_L_Stine mentioned, reliable PS3 emulators exist that run fairly well on significantly weaker hardware than PS5. Is Sony obligated to use emulation to enable PS3 backwards compatibility? No, but neither was Xbox, and it's become a hugely popular aspect. In my opinion, it would be to Sony's benefit to follow in Microsoft's footsteps.

I wouldn't say it's awful, but I am seriously reconsidering my subscription. The value just isn't there like it used to be.

Sounds like they were trying to take responsibility for the wrong but decided to do so in the most idiotic way possible.

I'm playing via Game Pass, but I do plan to buy a copy for my Xbox shelf once the price comes down a little bit; I just can't justify dropping $70 for a game that's already in my Game Pass subscription. That said, though, it's a fantastic game. Not as good as Doom 2016 in my opinion, but I'd place it a little bit above Doom Eternal.

Man, I wish they'd stop with the PS4 stuff. PS5 has been out for five years.

@Matroska I mean, I'm a Nintendo fan first and foremost, but that's just a fact that the Switch is, at its heart, a handheld. Any hybrid console is; you can make a dock that outputs HDMI for a handheld, but you can't turn a home console that requires AC power into a handheld.

What a pointless article. PS5 Pro is the most powerful home console ever made, and Switch 2 is a handheld. Comparing them is about as useful and insightful as writing an article about "FULL SPEC COMPARISON - 2026 AUDI S4 AND 1908 FORD MODEL T."

I agree with the sentiment - it's dishonest and an insult to the customers. That said...it is what it is. With how relatively small a share of the total games market physical sales make up, I doubt even Nintendo would see a big enough sales drop from a boycott to change anything (besides which, Nintendo hasn't actually used any yet - it's just an option for third parties - but that's neither here nor there), and far less of Sony's and Microsoft's game sales are physical than Nintendo's, so if people just stopped buying physical PS5 games, it wouldn't make Sony force publishers to put all data on the disc; they'd just stop pressing discs (which I think is what the PS6 will do as it is).

Fallout 3! Or New Vegas. I'd be down for that. But I love the DC Wasteland as a setting.

I was excited until I saw Digital Foundry reported the that they're seeing 1080p - 1440p and 30 fps. In my opinion, PS5 and Series X, after almost five years on the market, should never be 30 fps at less than 2160p and should never be less than 60 fps at 1080p.

I have Game Pass, but I'll double dip on this just to have Gears of War on Playstation on my shelf.

In fairness, that game didn't get a ton of sales in the US on PS2, and older Megami Tensei has taken on a sort of cult classic status, so if any remaster deserves this kind of a CE, it's probably a Megami Tensei title.

Also, this is just the collector's edition. Just go grab the standard edition at Walmart or Amazon or something; LRG isn't holding a gun to your head.

I'm not playing on PS5 since I already have it on Series X, but Forza Horizon 5 is dope. Have fun, anyone who's just now playing it. It's a great time.

Borderlands has never been my thing, but I'm stoked for those who are fans of the series. Some of my friends are obsessed with it, so it's fun to see them get so excited for the next game.

I think this is a cool idea for those who've adopted all digital (since it obviously won't include a UHD Bluray drive), but for those of us who still collect physical games, this is a far cry from the glorious Sega Nomad. Good on Sony for trying to innovate, though. I just don't see it doing especially well.

I adore Playstation (and Xbox, for that matter), but I've always been a Nintendo kid first and foremost since childhood. Switch 2 will be my main console, but I'll probably double dip on a lot of multiplat games like I did with the first Switch.

I'm super hyped for this. I'd love to see a release on Switch or Switch 2, but if there's not, I'll definitely be picking this up on PS5.

This miniscule visual upgrade is supposed to be worth $700? Seriously?

Actually, I've encountered FAR fewer frame rate and crashing issues since that first patch went up. It's totally possible that it's just dumb luck for me, but while those performance hiccups are still there for me, they've definitely been less frequent and less severe than they were for me at launch.

You do get these on Xbox, and a similar program will be rolling out on Switch next year.

Darksiders 2 is cool, but the rest is meh.

Call of Duty - especially the last few entries - are usually good, but for years, they really neglected the single player campaigns. The Modern Warfare trilogy was okay, Black Ops was 1 and 2 were alright, but in my opinion, from Call of Duty 2 until Advanced Warfare, the single player campaigns were just okay or "pretty good." Advanced Warfare, however, raised the bar; it, Black Ops III, and Infinite Warfare were fantastic.

I assume that there's no chance of importing saves from the PS3 game via PSN?

On the one hand, I love that folks are relentlessly making fun of President Trump. On the other hand, this looks like crap someone made in 20 minutes for a school project.

I think Nintendo's announcement made E3 2017 a pretty dang great one, personally.
