Rumour: Gears of War: Reloaded May Be Getting a Physical PS5 Release, No Word on Xbox 1

When Gears of War: Reloaded makes its PS5 debut later this year, you may be able to purchase a physical copy.

That’s according to Spanish retailer, who’s listed a product page for the game on its website, and claims it’s received confirmation from the manufacturer about boxed PS5 and PC versions.

While the existence of a PC version seems like a red flag, there is apparently a small market in Spain for physical PC releases, even if they usually consist of little more than a download code.

Assuming this is accurate – and we will, of course, contact Microsoft to try and get some kind of confirmation – it means the game could potentially be getting a boxed release on PS5 and not on Xbox, which is mind-blowing in many ways.

Obviously, the Redmond firm has transitioned to digital much faster than Sony, but it’s still wild to consider the possibility of an Xbox game launching physically on PS5, and not on the company’s own console.

Like we say, we’ll reach out to the appropriate people and see if we can get some kind of confirmation either way. We’ll update as and when we learn more.
