Re: Helldivers 2 Director Defends Elden Ring Difficulty: 'Always Cater to a Select Audience'

It shouldn't be a conversation about difficulty, it should be about accessibility. Routinely excluding gamers with disabilities by not putting in any options, when it's entirely possible to do so, as a design philosophy, just makes you an *****. Like an architect that scoffs at wheelchair ramps in the building designs because it's not part of their precious artistic vision.

Spider-Man will always be hamstrung by the need to make this game acceptable for younger gamers. For adults the storytelling will be too safe and boring, even juvenile, but they can't make it too dark like they sometimes have in the comics. Luckily the game play is fun itself so it's worth playing, but I don't think I'll ever be impressed with the writing, which is what makes or breaks a narrative game like this (for me).

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Set to Be a Huge Step Up in Storytelling

I just started playing the first game last week. Haven't had a lot of time so far but it's enjoyable, despite some maddening mechanics, like shooting a bow with no reticle and lockpicking. The best part of it for me is how immersive it is. Good looking faces (mostly) and facial expressions and mostly good voice acting. I like games where I can just wander around slowly taking it all in. I'm enjoying it a lot so far!
