I think GTA 6 was only ahead by a bit because some people firmly think it won't release in 2025. I can't say I'm super excited for Yotei. Tsushima was probably the best "map game" I've played but fatigue still set in for me long before I finished it.
@riceNpea Sorry, I think that's a little naive. I mean there are a ton of minor little things to write about on any given day given your example, but the number of posts about the gacha seems... suspect to me. You're free to disagree of course!
Multiplayer game design is hamstrung by it's own nature, the need to accommodate multiple players. I feel like I already know what a multiplayer game will be like before it even releases, and I'm just not ever going to get aboard that train.
My old LG TV doesn't support VRR so I'm thinking it's not worth it. $700 + hard drive + new 65" TV... has me thinking I'll buy the base PS5 after all... sad...
I'm curious about the system that regulates companions and their affection/rejection of Rook. Are any quests gated behind an approval rating for Rook? Besides obvious dialog choices, are there "gifts" or any other mechanic for party members?
I can't keep up with the flood of games, so I'm always playing through something already when a game I'm interested in releases. Even a game I am massively excited for like GTA VI (trying to keep those expectations tempered however), I will probably buy a few months after release.
I can't even remember if I've played 4 or 5, definitely checked out 6. Which one was the one that was intended for ps3 but also retooled for ps2? I remember there being long sections with nothing in it because the ps2 couldn't handle the content and I said it would be the last time I bought a nextgen game retooled for previousGen.
edit: Ah, no, the one I'm thinking of is the PS2 version of Underworld.
Considering Atlus's poor track record in portraying gay people (and how they treat women too), I'm curious if this game follows in the same tradition. Are there any gay characters? Are they portrayed as creepy predators again? Or did they simply erase them from the world? I'm only gonna buy this game if they have corrected that.
For me the originals' effectiveness relied almost entirely on the sound design. That's what made Silent Hill games scary. Doesn't get too much attention in this review, which is disappointing.
I don't think live service games will create a life-long love of games like good single players with good stories and characters. Fortnite players will grow up and be bored of the formula and move on.
They're going to have to move on from the standard map game design. I hope they don't just make a cookie cutter "more of the same" game with this. GoT was fun but for me still suffered from the map icon fatigue I get with Ubisoft games.
GTA is one of the few games I would consider buying day one, or at least within a month of release (unless a majority of reviews said it was really bad). But a higher price will mean I just wait for patches and a sale. Even something that's my FAVORITE gets a "wait for patches" at the very least.

@Sequel Your argument might make some sense had I argued that they not cover gacha games at all, but I did not.

I held off this one because the first one was loading screen hell that crashed constantly. Is it any better in that respect?
