Yea, I def will upgrade, but it will have to wait a bit. Have a large 1080p LCD for now, which shows a great pic, but I've seen LED and knew right away that would be my next upgrade.
Looking at the broader picture, not everyone wants multiple boxes to do basic things like listen to an MP3, or watch a blu-ray movie. Less clutter, convenience and getting the most out of one device makes total sense. Like it or not, its a game console and a media deice. It's just up to each person how they want to use it. I get that their pushing paid service, but there's a valid reason not to restrict such a basic feature. It's like not being able to play a dvd on a blu-ray player without a monthly subscription... forcing you to have a separate box. I don't use my PS3 for listening to music, but just making point.
@longshot28 So what's holding you back? I'd highly recommend starting from Uncharted one, and going in sequence up to Last of Us. ND sets the bar for other games. You shouldn't miss out.
How lame Sony. This is on the same level as their proprietary vita ram costing an arm and a leg. Honestly it should play music you own for free. Streaming makes more sense because it's a service, but why not include it with your PS+ sub.
Not a big deal imo. It's the first of many during PS4's life cycle. At least most of the time, the patches fix bugs and add a new feature here and there. Still, I hope they keep them to a minimal.
10 hrs. may be the right amount, if the pacing is right and the story is interesting. My issue is that I'll be done with it in a weekend, and not big on multi-player in many cases. For $60, and being my first PS4 game, I need more to dig-into. I'm considering swapping my pre-order to Assassins Creed BF. That will def hold me over until my next purchase.
Smart approach Sonys taking here. Everyone seems to benefit. Devs can be more creative with less hassle. Gamers get cool new, interesting games to play. Sony gets more exclusives, and more people buying the games and the PS4. Sounds good to me.
Although indies are clever, different, interesting and enjoyable, I can honestly say that none that I've played have the same exciting impact I get from a well built single player block-buster, with a good story, game play and beast graphics (Last of Us, for example). On my first power-on for a brand new console, I want to pop-in a disc. That experience gets a little watered down without a big exclusive. Just my opinion.
@ShogunRok I hope so too. Maybe the triggers a worth the learning curve on the new controller, but L1/R1 feel more natural, and less work to use all the buttons..
Thank you Guerrilla, 1,000 times over. Other than very simple games touch screen controls just don't work well for gaming. To make the entire controller a touch pad, for a console is just pointless.
With games like this, it really is all bout the SP, the world, the characters, their back stories, relationships, fighting to survive... I do get that its a much bigger investment to make SP though. But the MP is good, and at least one more installment of SP is coming.
Oh no... hints of mellow drama, and corny dialog. Please Capcom, don't do it. This doesn't have to be a FF clone for the next gen. Let it stand on it's own. Still hopeful it will be great though.
I'm willing to bet that this has something to do with copyright issues and rule from Google and publishers. Sounds like they are working something out though, whatever it is. Youtube is at the top of the list for this type of feature. This will "have" to happen.
Just remembered playing Xi when Home first launched. Very cool and interesting. Made online buddies while working together to solve in-game puzzles, and find clues in the real world, across the globe to find out what the mystery was behind Xi. Even had a live person who would give video recorded hints, and info for you to figure out through checking emails, and working with people. Lasted a few months I believe. Left an impression on me. They need more of that for Home, but leave out the micro transactions like they did when they tried a new version of that experience. That kept me from playing the second one.
I really like the concept behind Home, but as others said way too slow. That's only one of the issues though. Its really missing something. Maybe if they integrated it into the system as an optional interface to do anything, at any time, with anyone... Like chat, launch a co-op session, browse, watch shows with friends, skype, that sort of thing, but seamless. Not sure, but better implementation, and features/fun.
This needs to happen. A simple poll from gamers will tell Rockstar without a doubt, we want it on PS4. It already looks good, so even if it's a direct port with no loss in graphic quality, it would still be a winner.
This is actually an area that if done right, Sony could own. There could be some cool way to integrate a whole new way of using avatars, not explored yet.
Speaking of Home, I haven't heard/read "anything" about it moving over to the PS4. Will it exist in some form revamped, or not at all? Something major needs to change if they do keep it, but I'm curious.
MS is really grabbing for every, tiny-little opportunity to snag a few more bucks form people. To me it's like your carrier charging you to record video on you phone. Has nothing to do with the phones function, but is considered a basic feature.
A MS studios game is coming to the PS4... you sure about that? They could be talking about for PC. Seeing this trailer doesn't make me want to play it necessarily. It is interesting though, and looks pretty good.
@Subie98 Understandable concern. I usually don't worry about that since there is a warranty for these big-ticket items. If it's anything major, Sony will be obligated to replace defective ones.
Seems to be a bigger difference when your playing quick, twitchy type games, like multiplayer shooters. Would be nice if the ability was built into the PS4. It could throttle-up to 60fps when quick action is on screen, then down for slower moments on story driven games, so it's less taxing on the processor.
For the life of the console, absolutely. Right away, no. It's the cost if one game, so on a slow season when we all have to replay games, because nothing really new is out, I may pick one up then.
I think they should be determined by their challenge and difficulty. Treat them like true, rare rewards for those who excel in a skill, or just practice and grind until they earn it. I have none, I play for fun, the story, and the experience. Trophies aren't a big deal to me, but they are to some... so make it worth it. ... and why not make them worth points or credits toward add-ons and dlc. That would give them real purpose.
In the end, Sony will give us some amazing looking games, so it's nothing to even worry about. The PS3 is a beefy machine, with great graphics. The PS4 will be double that at launch. Tech specs aren't a big deal.
"A loon" LOL... then I googled the HMZ, and laughed even harder.
Oculus actually looks like a pair of ski goggles, not too bad, unless your sitting on your couch with them on. I'm sure it pulls you in for a more fun experience.
The Last of Us has this feature also. I was surprised when it hit 30-40% download, showed a message that I could start playing if I wanted to. One of those features that people will appreciate more, once they experience using it.
Really glad that Kaz is leading on a much larger scale now at Sony. He's actually talking to the employees and partners to find the issues, instead of a few major players making decisions in room. I figured the merging of the Sony passwords, and music accounts into one were part of his doing.
I'm sure devs will find ways to use the horse power whether it's frame rate, effects, graphic details, lighting, etc. Hopefully they keep gameplay at the top of the list, and let the graphics, and everything else fall into place afterwards. Good to know that the PS4 can handle all of them regardless.
I've been wondering why Knack is getting so much face time considering it's the most powerful console to date, and a lot weighing on it's success. When I think of PS4, I get a visual in my head of the Knack character... that's not good. It should instead be The Order, Infamous 2, The Last Guardian (I can dream)... something besides that. Even the name seems out of place.
Maybe Sony was going for the all-around family-friendly spin to appeal to a bigger audience. Just seems like this is not the right title for so much attention.

Not a big deal, not having this one on PS4. If it does come I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it.

Re: Killzone: Shadow Fall Will Fill 40GB of Your PS4's Hard Drive
Well I'll certainly be buying disc for games like this. Waaay too big to download, even with high-speed service.
Re: Rumour: Sony Wants the 'Net to Put Jodie Holmes' Clothes Back On
So why does Cage need to have a nude shower scene in his games to begin with... for the Adult rating? Their pointless.

Replaying a bunch of older favs from my collect actually. Will likely hit-up GTA-V in about month. No rush.

@LDXD
Ditto for me.
Re: Naughty Dog Just Received 120 PS4 Development Kits

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a Virtual Reality Headset for Your PS4?
$300 is a lot for just about any add-on peripheral imo. Not saying it's not worth it for the experience, but it's out or range for what I'd pay.
Looking like Stevie Wonder with a Daft Punk hemet on is also a minus for me. :^D

If it were exclusive, live event, MMA on xbox only, then I'd be pissed.
Re: Rumour: Is Sony Set to Drop the PS Vita's Price at GamesCom?
$200 would be a sweet spot for many. Sony's been serious about winning people over, so I can see it happening.
