The PS4's Share button is being promoted as one of the console's biggest selling points, allowing you to share footage of your best gaming moments with friends via a wide variety of services. One of those services was expected to be YouTube, but recent reports suggest that Sony will block uploads to that particular site, instead forcing users to stick with PSN, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch. It's also being said that video capture via HDMI isn't possible, either.
This would be a real blow for users of the machine, as sharing to YouTube is already being sold as a massive feature of the system. However, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has already moved to counter the claims via his Twitter account:

It sounds like Sony is working on a solution for this issue at present — perhaps there's some disagreement with YouTube — but we really hope they manage to sort this out in the fullness of time. We personally can't wait to spam YouTube with our gameplay videos.

Put a hdmi out on it? Or give software to upload it
@ Damien smashed your psp's because of final fanatasy. Broke 5 keyboards because of command and conquer tiberian sun online
Pointless feature if you cant upload to youtube.
Total non issue for 99% of people.
Even so, they can probably disable HDCP for game output... if they choose to, of course.
That said, Cerny mentioned YouTube himself, and I'll take his word over anyone else's. If things have changed since, you can bet it's down to the marketing/money men.
There WILL be youtube at least further down the line, seriously, I'd even behappy if you could upload to PSN or twitch, DOWNLOAD it from there, then make a compilation on your computer and upload it then to youtube. No worries.
still even if you can't uplaod staight to youtube you can still use twitch and just download it from there and upload it to youtube your self
@Paranoimia
Not really true, bro.
It's going to be a massive slap in the face to the playstation if the "share" button that has been touted cannot upload to youtube. They need to fix this, and fast.
@DeHorror1975 Yeah, I want it to upload to YouTube too, as I have my own channel. But even if it doesn't, I'm still more than happy to buy the system. I'm far more interested in actually playing the games than uploading them.
For all we know this could be down to the people at UStream kicking up a fuss. They got the partnership and probably thought it was going to increase their market share. Then when Cerny mentioned YouTube, they might have had a moan at Sony because they saw that potential wiped out.
Whatever the cause, it's still only a rumour; and even if it turns out to be true, I can't see Sony 'ignoring' YouTube for too long - not with the way they're bending over backwards to please everyone with PS4.
Yea, IF they don't fix this, THEY'RE DOOMED!!
This is just like saying you should be able to post on facebook off miiverse, Twitch will be available to every PS4 owner. It's not like it needs youtube, the only people who will complain about this is the attention-seeker who cannot get his/her face on youtube for every tom dick & harry to see, not like we give a crap if you didn't make a youtube vid in the first place.
Twitch is enough for me
@Paranoimia
I'm the same way as you about youtube, but as far as functionality and competing with xbox within the social realm...ps4 needs to have the youtube integration. I will be paying for my ps4 pre order either way:)
Well, you can still get your videos to YouTube if you use Twitch. Twitch has a upload to YouTube feature that's pretty much a click of a button. I think it would be a huge blow to the marketing side if they can't get YouTube because that is the most requested site and the last time I checked XB1 doesn't have YouTube yet.
whatever .i think it sucks.youtube is highly used and loved.
The hell are any of those things?... I must be getting old. Can we save videos to say a USB drive? And upload THAT to YouTube?
I'm willing to bet that this has something to do with copyright issues and rule from Google and publishers. Sounds like they are working something out though, whatever it is. Youtube is at the top of the list for this type of feature. This will "have" to happen.
I hope they get it worked out. That is one of the features that my son is most excited about when it comes to the PS4.
It would really surprise me if, Sony didn't allowed Youtube upload or Recording from HDMI with Gaming, since Youtube is very big for Lets players
