Great top 5 list Mr. Croft.

Just replace Inside with Ratchet & Clank and it would be my top 5 PS games of 2016.

This was the most disappointing game of 2016 for me. My playthrough was riddled with small glitches and the story is not good.

Combat mechanics were my favorite part, but they ruined magic.

@kyleforrester87 I feel all the trico species would react to the shield if they werent wearing that helmet. Which is probably why the shield was found amongst slave trico in the first place.

I took the meaning of "Trico lives on" to suggest that the species lives on through the other trico and her offspring. Pretty sure that was the plot device in motion there, but it is vague enough to go either way so we'll never know for sure unless the developer explains it themselves.

Personally, I don't feel that's our Trico. I think that's the female Trico that you sort-of fight. Our Trico is super passive towards her during that section and the helmet was taken off.

It makes no sense for it to be Trico after what the protagonist says. Besides that, he needs a mate in order to reproduce.

The Swindle looks like a decent game, may try to play it before my PS+ sub expires in February.

Havent played it yet but will pick up a copy some time in 2017.

Couldnt stomach FFXV anymore so I jumped on a great deal for UC4 and Ratchet & Clank. These two games are phenomenal, easily my favorite two PS4 games of 2016.

Wow, FFXV is already knocked out of the top5, doesnt seem very good for SE.

As someone who doesnt even like racing games, Forza Horizon 3 has to be my favorite game of the year, with Star Fox Zero in close second.

Havent got around to playing UC4 but I'm not really interested in another TPS for now.

Folks are blaming mobile gaming for the wrong reasons. Super Mario Run isn't taking sales away from PS4 and XBO games. Becoming graphic hogs with 40+ GB file sizes, games with little to no evolution, and splitting the user base with mid-gen consoles...that's what is killing their industry.

It's also why Nintendo does things differently and stay in their bubble. The writing is on the wall, but everyone is like "ooh Purdy expensive graphics!"

Lately, Sony has been known for re-structuring parts of their company to work more efficiently. So while they're saying it's a baseless rumor, something must've stirred it up to begin with.

I get the feeling Microsoft will be on top in December's NPD, they're really bringing out the deals.

The best news is Sony hitting 50 million units sold. That is friggin' impressive.

I hope it's all true, because I'd buy them without a problem. Especially if they have tweaks and upgrades.

I would love a new Soul Calibur. One of my all-time favorite fighting games behind SSB and Bushido Blade.

There were 4 or 5 really great showings, the others were alright.

They're asking for $60. I enjoyed Bulletstorm but that is way too steep.

I'm at about the 3-hour mark and have previously played a buddy's game who was much further along in the story.

Combat is great fun but a lot less so when fighting ginormous monsters. Story could be much better, but the core team is enjoyable to hang out with. Setting is an interesting blend of fantasy and reality.

This is good news but I'm more interested in official NPD results. These aggregated reports are interesting but too specific to one form of buying option.

There were tons of offline deals on Monday, hell even today I've seen "post-cyber monday deals!" on street corners

I'd be surprised if it didn't sell well on the week of Black Friday. They even say the record was previously held by Black Friday 2015

I'm definitely looking forward to FFXV but not picking it up right away (Christmas is destroying my wallet). Mostly want to finish the story set up in Kingsglaive and the "wait time" mode is exactly what I was hoping they'd add to the combat.

Picking it up over the weekend, just too good a game to pass up. Especially at 60fps.

Publishers and retailers only have themselves to blame. Why release so many games during a time when most (if not all) will be marked down by more than 25% in a week or two. Gamers arent made of money and the regular console purchasers are content with their media players that also happen to play games every now and again.

So TLoU looks worse when downsampling for 1080p screens, a game made by a 1st party studio. This game and Deus Ex look worse in either resolution...and these are the guys releasing FFXV in a couple of weeks. Skyrim looks good (albeit with that horrible yellow filter) but takes a hit in framerate.

Is there anything besides Rise of the Tomb Raider, TF2, or PSVR that actually runs better on this "Pro" console? DF needs to go through the library and see what games are taking a performance hit.

No PS4Pro here, I'll be waiting Sony out until holiday 2017.

Now I'm much more interested. Something as entertaining as Doom with this control scheme and PSVR would be great.

Looks interesting but auto-walking kinda blows. Personally, aim-down-sights for VR has to be improved significantly.

@get2sammyb lol okay, it looks that good to me. MCS sign is just as clear but the rocks in the dark sections are much more pronounced thanks to HDR. I'm sure that would mean PS4Pro screens with upscaled 4K and HDR enabled could look mighty nice.

Or maybe the upgrade is so small that I can't notice the difference during gameplay, in which case it's even less of a reason for me to purchase a PS4Pro any time soon.

It already looks like that on my OneS, got it connected through HDR too so the clarity really pops. Definitely a beautiful game on consoles so long as you have the upgraded tech.

May consider getting the PS4Pro on a discount in late 2017 or something, it doesnt really feel like an upgrade worth $400 right now.

Absolutely rad. I just wish it was an original Berserk game and not musou flavored, but oh well.

I imagine so, it seems they're handling production in small waves instead of flooding the market with millions and expecting all units to sell. 2017 is where PSVR really needs to prove itself.

Well it's a great explanation because I didnt think it would provide much of a difference on a 1080p screen. Not really enough to warrant an upgrade for me, especially with its wattage being so high.

Both TF2 and Skyrim released worldwide on October 28th and this chart is for the week ending October 29th.....that pegs it at around 48 hours of sales time. Its clear TF2 was never going to knock Skyrim down and you guys are absolutely gaga over FIFA

I think it'll be more about longer legs with this release. Personally, TF2 is great so far, the traversal is top of its class. Sits perfectly alongside Doom.

Planning on picking up BF1 and Titanfall2. Nothing but FPS madness this weekend.

So far gamers act like the current experiences dont have blurry graphics, when they do, and most of these experiences are glorified shooting galleries with Google Map-style movement.

I'm waiting for RE7 to see what my buddies and trusted reviewers say.

At least give us better battery life. Simply put, the DS4 sucks.

Square hasnt damaged anything. They made a deal with Microsoft and gave Sony players a nice upgrade for the year-long wait. Get over it, chances are they made a great deal with both companies and came out on top. Nevermind that the PC release sold like gangbusters.

Anyway, let's see if PSVR goes beyond "flash in the pan" status throughout the rest of the year.

@fight_teza_fight They have to be full games in order to be full size. Also, everything under the sun will be getting dropped in price across the holiday season, as it always has.

It would be a shock to me if they didn't have that many sales or more across the next 2 months.

Oddly enough, this is what I'm more interested in when it comes to the VR experience. Endless virtual rollercoaster possibilities.

PSVR seems to be a whole lot of middle-of-the-road experiences so far.

Having that heads up display there all the time seems really annoying, you have to look around it to take accurate shots. What a weird design choice.

So far, even the games seem more like experiences anyway. Makes sense, though I'm hoping they're more than 10-20 minutes for this media...and also not vomit-inducing.

Great idea to call them "titles" because they certainly arent full games. Let's see whats up when they get passed the glorified tech demo phase.

Wow! Yeah you can really notice the improvements, especially if you've been playing the demos recently. Looks great.

lol, so one of the touted resolution upgrades won't even technically work with their VR system...I figured all those cables were going to make this complicated.

Hopefully that's the extent of the problems.

Finally folks, in just three more months we get to play this. It's been a looong time coming.

The processing box has a power supply, which will be a bit weird to pull off. It'll look like the PS4 has a little brother and a baby brother

There are no USB ports in the back of the PS4, so that processing box will have to be plugged into the front of the console via micro-usb, then the PS4's HDMI has to be plugged into the back of the processing box...which is then plugged in via HDMI to the TV.
