Remember how we told you that PlayStation 4 Pro would bring "bullshot" level image quality to your living room on a 1080p television? Well, now we can prove it. Some stores have started selling Sony's supercharged system early, and that's resulted in some screenshot comparisons beginning to appear around the web. This Titanfall 2 side-by-side is the most impressive that we've seen thus far.
So, what's going on? Well, the game is being rendered at a much higher resolution than 1080p on the PS4 Pro, and then scaled back, resulting in super-sharp image quality. The title actually sits around 1000p on the standard PS4, so the image quality is much, much, much cleaner on Sony's latest console. Just look at the detail on the soldier's gloves, or in the reflections of the metal.
It's an obvious improvement, and should serve as reassurance that the PS4 Pro will be worth a purchase even if you're not planning on buying a 4K television.

In before someone says they can't see a difference:
egad, imagine how much HDR would improve that! Especially the first pair of screenshots with all the brown rocky tones
Titanfall 2 on a regular ps4 had some noticeably low res textures, probably due to the source engine. But they do look sharper there.
I mean, it looks very slightly sharper, but that's about it. I wouldn't notice differences in those screenshots at all if I wasn't specifically looking for them.
With one exception: the character's glove in the first set of comparison screenshots looks a good deal more detailed in the Pro version.
Ps4 pro texture is more clear than original ps4, it's amazing considering the game frame rate is constant 60 fps according to digital foundry.
@Ralizah Same here, in heat of the battle I can't see such minor details... You have to stop playing and start analyzing the screen to see sharper details.
@Diskach
You can see the difference only when picture is highly zoomed.
Generally looks the same like on ps4.
It does look better, but not by much. Things seem a little clearer, sharper, and more dynamic like the shiny metals, the textures on the character's glove, and the particle effects look clearer. Some of the colors look easier to pick out too. I'd imagine it'd be easier to spot more of the differences if I weren't viewing on my phone. Supersampled resolution is nice and all, but better quality textures would have gone a longer way.
All those saying the difference is slight, have you seen these at the same size as your TV? If you are looking at these on a 'small' mobile,tablet or laptop size, the details in the smaller objects will be lost anyway on either image - hence the difference is most obvious in the foreground objects.
Titanfall 2 also utilises dynamic scaling - lowering the native resolution - to maintain an almost constant 60fps. The PS4 maybe running at around 1000p in these scenes so would still be quite sharp but can drop where as the Pro version should maintain a 1080p resolution throughout on a 1080p TV.
What we don't yet know is what resolution Titanfall 2 hits on a 4k TV. I assume the 1080p TV owners are seeing a downsampled version - hence the clarity in @get2sammyb images above
Tasty. Can't wait to see it on the screen
It definitely is an improvement, no doubt about it. But right now I'm really not fussed, especially not for £350. Obviously there will be further options for how games run with cases like Ni-oh, but when there are no exclusive titles for the platform it isn't worth my money.
And right now, I'd be much more interested in PSVR. And I'm also interested in finding out what the Nintendo Switch can do or what games it will contain. And then there's the possibility there will be another upgrade or Sony platform in a couple of years.
I don't doubt the impressive nature of the upgrade, but I don't feel it would raise my enjoyment of a game that much. And I'd much prefer good solid game design over an upgrade in the visual department.
Other people might see it differently, and that's fine, but it's not for me right now.
Still. Miniscule difference. I'd be more interested in improved framerates.
Oh no, the comments sections on pushsquare articles are turning into the comments section within digital foundry reports. What have you done Sony?
@Churchy same, same. I can happily wait it out. Of course we all want nicer graphics but I can make do for the minute.
It already looks like that on my OneS, got it connected through HDR too so the clarity really pops. Definitely a beautiful game on consoles so long as you have the upgraded tech.
May consider getting the PS4Pro on a discount in late 2017 or something, it doesnt really feel like an upgrade worth $400 right now.
Looking goood in the screenshot's it's gunna look a lot more impressive than that when your actualy watching/playing the game and seeing it run silky smooth. Canny wait.
Time to look for a new site, the line between blatant over marketing and clickbait is becoming very blurry. When PS4 first came out and was criticized for it's weak hardware, it wa viciously defended by the "gameplay over graphics" crowd, and now that there is a slight bump in hardware, it's all about the shinies now? Come on, you're better than this.
@BertoFlyingFox No it doesn't look like that on your One S.
@Napples We're better than reporting on a new PlayStation system that's out in 5 days? Come on, now.
@Napples See you later, how can you not expect a Playstation site not to cover new hardware. Why do you click on the articles no one is forcing you. Sammy keep them coming coverage so far has been top notch. Moaners and fanboys see you later.
So basically, it's like opening a picture on Photoshop and click "Sharpen More".
@get2sammyb lol okay, it looks that good to me. MCS sign is just as clear but the rocks in the dark sections are much more pronounced thanks to HDR. I'm sure that would mean PS4Pro screens with upscaled 4K and HDR enabled could look mighty nice.
Or maybe the upgrade is so small that I can't notice the difference during gameplay, in which case it's even less of a reason for me to purchase a PS4Pro any time soon.
@get2sammyb Noticed a few fan boys sneaking in. And don't worry most of us are loving all the PS4 PRO vids hope there's many more to come. Can't wait to see what improvements there are for PSVR. Don't let the detractors influence you they are the minority.
Glad my favorite games gets some benefits till i can see it in 4k next year! =,)
@Steel76 Glad to here it! I see a bit of a difference in detail even without my glasses thank goodness my Note 4 has a 4K screen LOL
Just bought TF2, £35, bargain good game, can't wait to see it on ze Pro in 5 day's
Casual gamers haven't got a clue at what there are looking at, things like super sampling will be lost on them. Its only when its running in 4K HDR thay'll see the benefits because its quite a big jump, case in point go and ask anyone on a console how Battlefield One looks. They will properly say it looks great but on both PS4 & XboxOne the res is under 1080p, in fact it hits 720p quite a lot on the XboxOne last gen standards.
the difference is like before and after I put my glasses on
These pictures are not taken in 1080p on PS4 Pro. The article on Push square shows fake pictures.
There is a post on Neogaf where you can find statement from Kubinsky, guy that have PS4 pro earlier.
Kubinsky has a PS4 Pro connected to a 4k TV and posted the resulting 3840x2160p images to google, end of story.
Kubinsky shots are not downsampled to 1080p from his PS4. I quoted a user saying they're downsampled to 1080p from a PS4 Pro but they aren't.
So, Push square, once again, like with false text that PS4 pro is sold out, you releasing non confirmed lies.
Please, you should be honest and reliable source, not the fake news site.
Next time, firstly confirm something before you release bombastic lies.

@99miki
Every comment you've ever written is putting down the website in which your a member 😂 You are the definition of a troll!
@Leeham, truth is trolling to you?
@Ralizah Look at the screen in the reaction on top that is a massive improvement.
@Napples bye!
@Napples Bye bye
@Napples isn't this topic basically about ps4 pro improving on ps4 graphically? You do realise this site is a PlayStation site for people who love gaming on PlayStation right? Don't we have the right to hear if a new model can improve our current crop of games visually or performance wise? Peace dude 😜 I love elderscrolls on PS4 and the extra power to make that world look a bit more special is well worth it imo! Sold my ps4 for £200 odd, don't mind splashing out £150 extra for shiny new upgrade! Cheaper than upgrading my old skool PC!!
@bbq_boy I wouldn't bother mate, he tries to put a negative spin on anything.
Much more richer colour in the pro version, whilst normal PS4 looks a bit washed away with the colour.
I've never played Titanfall 2 on my 2013 PS4, but I did play it on the Xbox One S. And yesterday I got it for my PS4 Pro. There is a big improvement in resolution playing on a 4K TV when compared to the Xbox One S. I only wish Titanfall 2 was in HDR.
Now I'm really looking forward to playing Battlefield 1 on the PS4 pro. Since that has the higher resolution too plus it's in HDR. I got the Battlefield 1/Titanfall 2 combo pack yesterday from the PSN store. For $60 after the sale price and my 20% off code it was a sweet deal.
