I gave it an 8 as I enjoyed the dispatch gameplay and but really just felt like it needed more game. I hope they do make a 2nd season and Ill be there day 1

I got the game before it was all out because I knew I was going to play it anyway and just got impatient. As long as the second half doesn't blow it, this will be my GOTY

I typically juggle games by bouncing between a physical game and a digital one and since I've had Diablo IV physically in my backlog since it launched, getting it digitally makes it very convenient for my backlog

The prevailing sentiment seems to be this was announced to appease fans. Can't help but agree especially if you compare this reveal to that of P3R which definitely shows that this isn't as far along as P3R was when it was announced

Really digging the style of this one

What this SoP showed, in my eyes, is that a lot of people look to these types of showcases, not to see a bunch of new games to be interested in, but for the hype announcements. This list is full of games I would play or at least have on my radar which is what made it such a great SoP, but for the type of person I mentioned, there was basically only one or two real announcements which is not fair to the rest of the games present.

I thought this game looked really interesting but hearing that it's going to be F2P has immediately killed my interest.

One of my favorite games of the year; but out of principle, I think relatively faithful remakes should place lower on GOTY lists so #10 is perfect imo

It's the best premium line-up in recent memory but calling the Sly games and the first Jak game bonuses when there's only one other game is definitely a stretch

They could just remove the 30th anniversary moniker and make it an option in the menu. I really don't understand what it costs them to keep it. I can understand the mentality of trying to make the event special by making it time limited but you can also do that by making these permanent as a celebration gift to the community

@Kingy I forgot about Silent Hill 2 but I think you're right in that it's more likely than Tekken to be nominated

What I don't get is why the plot threads in the side quests need to be tied up before the sequel? If anything, these unfinished storylines make me more interested in the sequel, not story DLC

Give me one announcement that I am excited for and I'll consider it a win. Hopefully a Rescue Mission port.

Sly 1 I find to be the weakest of the three personally but having it playable on current tech is more than welcome. Hopefully we get Sly 2 before the end of the year

Elden Ring is such a massive game that it would actually be a turn off if any hypothetical game advertised it was bigger

The fact that the announcement was made by Housemarque themselves was a bit of a sign that it wasn't going to be a new game. They would have saved an announcement like that for the next Showcase/State of Play.

@breakneck I would say its more encouraging to buy a potentially endless game when there is a platinum trophy

I own the game but haven't touched it yet since other games were still coming out but do want to get to it despite the surrounding commotion since I heard the story was good

This was basically a popularity contest. If you took 10 random people off the street and asked them if they knew these characters, Mario would absolutely get 10/10. I can't say the same for Lara Croft

Thank god, I took a break from Rebirth right at the start of the Golden Saucer to play smaller backlog games so knowing I can start again without any worries soon is a relief.

Perfect. This will give me a side game to take breaks from Rebirth plus I can get the potential physical release without doubling dipping.

I've never played a SRPG before but I feel a self-contained one made by Vanillaware is a perfect entry point.

The thing is, I don't remember Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut being called one of the console's major releases the year it came out.

The only reason I still have any interest is for the story, playing the missions early is not a selling point

I have never played Alan Wake before since I never owned an Xbox of any flavor. With the reception of Alan Wake 2 though, I am definitely interested but would wanna play the first game and even Control before hand (plus it gives time to see if the publisher changes their mind over a physical release).

8/10. It is more Insomniac Spiderman which is nice but I'd say that it gets old a lot faster than the previous games, at least for me. I got the platinum after 24 hours and I had no desire to keep playing. I think it stems from the side activities being very similar to each other this time around so the gameplay became repetitive relatively quickly for me. Story also didn't hit the same dramatic highs that the first game had. Enjoyed my time with it but would more likely replay the first game over this one.

I don't believe the game has been announced as being on Game Pass. It certainly wasn't in the reveal trailer.

I'm excited but I'm not that hyped for it. I'm expecting a lot of the big announcements are things that had rumors about them or things we already know. It's the surprises that will decide it for me and since Sony is pushing live-service, I'm not getting my hopes on that front. Expect the worst, hope for the best

@get2sammyb Hmmm, that seems fair, especially if its going for a more DMC-style combat system. I personally don't mind that as I feel Ghost of Tsushima and many turn-based RPGs have a similar problem.

Safe bet is an official gameplay reveal for Spider-man 2 and Death Stranding 2. A teaser trailer for Factions and maybe for Ghost of Tsushima 2. Maybe the Twisted Metal game. And then a bunch of original stuff like indies and live service games

This showcase feels particularly redundant compared to other marketing cycles. I can't imagine anyone interested in watching a State of Play isn't already interested in Final Fantasy 16. So it basically just splits the demographic into those who want to see more and those who have seen enough. I doubt it's gonna catch the attention of anyone not already in the know
