@MaelysSedisia youâre splitting hairs and embarrassing yourself. Everyone knows youâre a contrarian. I get it. It fills your life with purpose. And though your opinion is valid, your take is not.
@MaelysSedisia thatâs not exactly true. Thereâs an entire thread on Reddit discussing this exact topic. It has hero shooter elements. You could call it âclassesâ if you want. I can call it a hero shooter if I want. Both are opinions and neither one of us will be able to convince the other one that our opinion is right, so why fixate on that?To me, there are distinct features of âhero shootersâ that appear in the structure of the characters in this game. If it still bothers you, take the word âheroâ out of my comment. Doesnât bother me any.
Itâs a really good hero shooter. If I was to get into a hero shooter, itâd likely be this one. I just donât really have the interest. That doesnât make it a bad game to me though.
Itâs the exact opposite of what Xbox would do. So. Theyâre making the right decision. Jokes aside, in the short term, yes, they could go for the money. In the long term, though, that would eventually make the PlayStation console obsolete.
Sony and Nintendo should absolutely still be console exclusive. Xbox is acting like theyâre going to go that route now, but thereâs no way theyâll survive it.
@TheEnygma sure, but the demand for a good city builder is probably quite a bit higher than another cookie cutter pay to play vehicle dressed as a hero shooter. Itâs not a bad game, but Iâm also not saying that it shouldnât be made. I had enough fun with it during the Server Slam. My worry is that it is another wasted moment from Bungie that will cost a lot of hardworking talented people their place in this shrinking industry, and with that I wonder WHYYYYY?
Itâs ***** like this that shows how out of touch the production leads and publishers really are. How long did they spend on this completely unrelated fluff rather than optimizing the game? How many play testing hours were sacrificed for this episode of Secret Level?
I burned myself out on golf with 2k23 and the Road to the Masters game. Itâs probably pretty fun tho. Iâm also waiting for Stories 3, so Rise is not a priority for me right now. Otherwise, both of those would be instant grabs for me.
To each their own, ya know? I bought more physical games last year than any other year in the PS4-5 era. This year will be less because Iâm a Premium subscriber, but I will always buy the big games physically, so I hope they leave the light on for those of us who do!
Iâll save PGA and Rise to my library, but I burned myself out on golf games back in 2023 and Iâm already set on the new Monster Hunter game, so Iâll probably never play em. Gotta say though, this is the most meh month in a looooong time for me personally, so I donât really feel that bad about the selection.
@OmegaStriver agreed. Itâs a good looter/shooter, but what does that actually mean, ya know? I get so bored of this style of game so quickly. The gameplay loop is just so simplistic and the skill gap gets so wide that Iâd rather be mastering a combat system in a single player for 70 hours rather than dropping in on the same map for the 100th time with the same plan as last time. I can barely dump 20 hours into them before I find myself hovering over the icon while considering deleting it. And it seems like thatâs a pretty general consensus. Arc Raiders and Helldivers 2 are exceptions in that I got bored playing them after 40 hours. Theyâre great community games where friends can run around together, but theyâre just not sustainable.
@OmegaStriver good points. I donât think Marathon is bad, but itâs not as good as Arc Raiders. Hope they still find a following, for Bungieâs sake haha
Iâve had a good time thus far. Shooting feels good, combat is spicy, particularly against other teams. Any decent looter/shooter does that well. Would really like to see the time it takes to open a chest or dead drop to a liiiittle quicker. I know they want it to be a little more time consuming. But still. The classes are interesting but still a bit imbalanced, but theyâre working on it. The feel of the world is cool though. Itâs gaudy and I dig it.
The only real complaint I have is the community. Last night, the PS rating was around 4 and a half. I think even at 4.6ish. Today, itâs 3.19. Ainât no ***** way that the people review bombing it actually truly played it from when I went to bed last night at 1 AM East Coast US time and when I had a chance to hop on and play it briefly today at 2:00 EST in order to drop it that much. Itâs shambolic and one of the grossest things about being a video gamer.
@ButterySmooth30FPS theyâve done great stuff, but youâre right. Demon Souls was a PS5 launch title, and weâre almost at the year the PS6 was originally going to launch in. I hate it for em, but as we are all aware, good games donât guarantee longevity.
@8bitOG cool, but my guy, youâre in the absolute minority which means youâll never be truly happy with anything, so I donât think that we or the gaming companies really care what you have to say. đ€·ââïž
@Northern_munkey of course! And we should make a stink about it. They should regret it, and it should be a mark against Hermie for the rest of his hopefully-not-too-long Sony career. But Iâm not gonna throw my toys out the pram.
@Northern_munkey absolutely. Itâs a great generation to me! Iâve played nothing but absolutely bangers since I bought my PS5, and my backlog just keeps growing. These crybabies? I ainât got time for them. If they donât like it, itâs because theyâre playing generic F2P/live service slop.
There is absolutely no way that Xbox can return to anything that remotely looks like console exclusivity. Timed releases with Day 1 Game Pass PC âexclusivityâ? Thatâs a bit different. But if you think that the PlayStation market is not of critical value to Xbox now, then you havenât been paying attention.
This is total bunk. I enjoy playing around with 40k Tacticus, but no regular gamer with a taste for anything other than F2P garbage is getting lured like this. This is just an excuse for production companies to lean more into the gacha industry.
@8bitOG if you can only count on one hand over the years âgoodâ games on Essential you either have too high of standards or canât identify a good game when it literally drops in your lap for âfree.â And you still didnât answer my question. XBOX worth it? Nintendo Online? And sorry, most people donât want to sit around for 2 hours optimizing every game they play or investing in a 2,000 dollar rig that they have to build themselves. Your sense of âvalueâ is questionable and quite exclusive.
They can do this by increasing the value of elements that they are already monetizing. Make Premium truly worth it. Continue to drop excellent games on the Extra level. The âF2Pâ folks will take care of the rest. Theyâll keep eating up the live service BS while complaining about it on Reddit.
@Katsuhono of course, itâs like dudes piling on their favorite sports teams despite never kicking/throwing a ball in a meaningful competitive environment in their lives. Everyone has an opinion and most of em stink.
Say what you want about the Horizon gamesâ stories and Aloyâs lack of character development (I donât mind either), but thereâs no question that Decima makes the best Open World games based on the look and feel alone.
Itâs like watching a smart, uncoordinated person carry a tray full of expensive fine china⊠they know itâs not going to end well, but theyâre trying their best to act like they have it under control, while the rest of us are just bracing for impact.
@Dogbreath the last part absolutely. The first two pointsâŠcome on, man. You been playing games for way too long to still have such an immature and underdeveloped perspective.
