As a PlayStation ecosystem guy who rarely plays PC games on my laptop, I’m quite happy with my PS Premium subscription, honestly. The catalogue is good, the Portal is perfect for my purposes. Sony is in a power position when it comes to the current market, even with their poorly handled current gen live service slop decisions. Just shows how far Microsoft has fallen sadly.
If I was a younger version of myself (now 37) who was on Game Pass and still played COD, this current deal would be my final straw for sure. They drop it a measly amount then I have to wait a year for the new COD? Who wants that? Oh well.
Hulst has got to go! He can retire with his millions somewhere nice, I’m sure. I have loved my PS5 experience, but very little of that experience has been down to PS produced titles. 3rd party is keeping PS afloat, and Sony has got to do something to show us why they “won” the console war with Microsoft, because it currently looks like Sony just got lucky.
Price increases might have slowed it down over the next year or two, but they just sold a metric ***** ton of PS5’s over the last couple weeks, worldwide. They will probably sell more units from now til EOY by jumping the price with a heads up than they would have without jumping the price at all.
I never had a problem with storage on the OG PS5, especially after dropping a M.2 SSD in. I’ll be in a holding pattern on my PS5 Pro til the PS6 Pro comes out anyway. So glad I upgraded this week.
It’s sold really well, so I hope they reinvest that into further development, and it seems like they’re doing that. Thank God my backlog is at least a year long because it’s going to be really good by then (hopefully).
Clearly the critics and reviewers were unhappy with this game because sandbox adventure games don’t make good reviews. They’re hard to describe in a text based format, but when you get your hands on it, you know it’s good. I hope they continue to innovate with this game. Can’t wait to play it myself. I think it looks fantastic.
It’s like gaming companies still think that games are for kids, despite the fact that the entire gaming industry, especially the offline single player market, is actually held up by 30+ year olds who have been gaming for well over two decades…🤯
@IOI the model sucks, and even casuals notice. The whole concept is, “let’s do as little as humanly possible and structure it in a way that makes us as much money as possible.”
I’m one of those! I still have the base PS5, but I’ve got the VR2, the Portal, and a Premium account. I was going to get a gaming PC or a Switch, but then I realized that I don’t have that kinda time. So I doubled down on PlayStation and bought a decent gaming laptop that I use for work and for Chrono Trigger anything else I can’t play on PlayStation.
I love playing Square Enix games, but SE leadership has been atrocious for a while now. Poor decisions leading to wildly unachievable expectations that result in strange overreactions.
I wasn’t going to get this game for a while, but this makes me wanna Day 1 it, against my better judgement.
I know it’s Sony’s decision to do this, but it’s still a justifiable reaction to Xbox’s business strategy. Xbox is done making “consoles.” This next one is a hybrid, and there is no way that Sony is going to allow their products to jump on the Game Pass, which is a huge reason why Xbox has fallen so far, for “free.”
@MaelysSedisia you’re splitting hairs and embarrassing yourself. Everyone knows you’re a contrarian. I get it. It fills your life with purpose. And though your opinion is valid, your take is not.
@MaelysSedisia that’s not exactly true. There’s an entire thread on Reddit discussing this exact topic. It has hero shooter elements. You could call it “classes” if you want. I can call it a hero shooter if I want. Both are opinions and neither one of us will be able to convince the other one that our opinion is right, so why fixate on that?To me, there are distinct features of “hero shooters” that appear in the structure of the characters in this game. If it still bothers you, take the word “hero” out of my comment. Doesn’t bother me any.
It’s a really good hero shooter. If I was to get into a hero shooter, it’d likely be this one. I just don’t really have the interest. That doesn’t make it a bad game to me though.
It’s the exact opposite of what Xbox would do. So. They’re making the right decision. Jokes aside, in the short term, yes, they could go for the money. In the long term, though, that would eventually make the PlayStation console obsolete.
Sony and Nintendo should absolutely still be console exclusive. Xbox is acting like they’re going to go that route now, but there’s no way they’ll survive it.
@TheEnygma sure, but the demand for a good city builder is probably quite a bit higher than another cookie cutter pay to play vehicle dressed as a hero shooter. It’s not a bad game, but I’m also not saying that it shouldn’t be made. I had enough fun with it during the Server Slam. My worry is that it is another wasted moment from Bungie that will cost a lot of hardworking talented people their place in this shrinking industry, and with that I wonder WHYYYYY?
It’s ***** like this that shows how out of touch the production leads and publishers really are. How long did they spend on this completely unrelated fluff rather than optimizing the game? How many play testing hours were sacrificed for this episode of Secret Level?
I burned myself out on golf with 2k23 and the Road to the Masters game. It’s probably pretty fun tho. I’m also waiting for Stories 3, so Rise is not a priority for me right now. Otherwise, both of those would be instant grabs for me.
To each their own, ya know? I bought more physical games last year than any other year in the PS4-5 era. This year will be less because I’m a Premium subscriber, but I will always buy the big games physically, so I hope they leave the light on for those of us who do!
I’ll save PGA and Rise to my library, but I burned myself out on golf games back in 2023 and I’m already set on the new Monster Hunter game, so I’ll probably never play em. Gotta say though, this is the most meh month in a looooong time for me personally, so I don’t really feel that bad about the selection.

For once, I hope Nintendo and Game Freak feast on this trash.

I haven’t played it yet, and I just upgraded to the Pro. Spider-Man 2 was beautiful, so it’s definitely up next.

I know this feels gross, and it is, but…you don’t have to buy things that don’t match your evaluation of the product.

Oh well, I know for a fact that this is going to be one of my favorite games from this year, even on my old beat up base PS5. 😜

@trev666 I was about to leave the same comment. Cyberpunk’s failure was so bad that it got me BACK into games. 😂🤣

@J2theEzzo absolutely. It’s how I ended up getting into Tsushima! I played Legends first and loved it so much that I bought the full game.

It’s fantastic. The best F2P co-op games out there. Highly underrated.

@Simulated-Soul if you’re willing to buy Legends then just buy Yotei! Lol

I just got Darktide Imperial Edition for 15 bucks, so it’s literally changed nothing in how I shop for games.
