That said, I’m more than fine with these cancellations. I don’t care for anymore battle-royale shooters and the Splinter Cell reboot is way more important than a VR title.

Not that it matters since I’m not picking it up… but the last gen version has a way cooler box art in my opinion.

And just when I thought skateboarding games were back, Tony Hawk gets the axe and Skate goes F2P. The original titles were great to me because of the single-player component. If that’s not there then I doubt it’ll hold my attention.

Already pre-ordered the game on PC and I’m super excited to play it next week. The physical version is enticing though…

Pretty standard for me at this point lol.

I was about to put Wipeout HD for the PS Plus question and then I was like “oh no that collection released much later”… I got Wiepout HD mixed up Omega Collection. I actually facepalmed lol.

That said, I got a 5/15. Not my strongest quiz lol.

I have the Remastered version alongside my PS4 Pro. While I don’t have a PS5 yet, I plan on picking one up some point later this year or early next year. Even when I have a PS5, I’ll probably only pick this up for $30 or under. I’m sure it’s going to be great, just don’t feel the need to grab it right away.

Finally got to watch it. Damn that was great. Stray coming out really soon, Final Fantasy 16 looked amazing, Street Fighter 6 with a sweet style and open-world story mode, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and some other goodies like Callisto Protocol and Eternights.

That’s not even mentioning all the VR stuff!

@WaveBoy All good! I know a lot of people who prefer VR. I wasn’t discrediting it (I have an Oculus myself but it’s turned into a Beat Saber machine lol) I just like to chill on a sofa with a controller is all. The immersion with VR is indisputably better and can be really intense at times.

I’m also not huge into horror games so VR horror titles are sometimes too terrifying for me 😂

Eh, I don’t care much for VR but I’ll still give it a watch to see if there are any good third-party reveals.

They don’t need one… but I feel like it would help out. Aside from God of War, we don’t know anything else first-party coming out this year (sorry if I’m missing something). I know there are some “console-exclusives” like Stray and Forspoken, but it would be nice to get an announcement or two, even if they’re not slated until next year.

They also have to have a big PSVR2 blowout if they want to get consumers on board with it. The technology looks great but aside from Horizon: Call of the Mountain… there‘s not much else we know about. It would be nice to know what’s coming soon on PS5 outside of God of War and Spider-Man.

Glad it doesn’t require online. I know we knew single-player was going to be an option but this makes it seem like the game will still play and function well without the co-op aspect.

@themightyant Agree with FPS boost. I downloaded Tomb Raider Definition Edition not knowing it got any updates and was surprised to find it supports 60fps now (my tv was also detected Dolby Vision too which is pretty cool). Very nice.

Shame. Hope this doesn’t mean the end for all these great franchises. I know the Spyro trilogy and Crash 4 were handled by a different team but it would have been nice having more hands on deck for Crash, Spyro, and Tony Hawk.

Interesting. I don’t remember any issues while playing it on my brothers PS5 back when I lived there. Perhaps this update is arriving because they’re working on another game (presumably another Astro Bot game) using the same engine. Would make sense if it isn’t too difficult to transfer the optimizations to a pre-existing title. The developers get to test their optimizations on pre-existing games and consumers benefit from it.

Seems like a decent deal. It’ll all come down to the game library, though. And if they’re going to wait a year minimum to add their big new titles, it might be a bit of a hard sell for me. Regardless, I’m interested… just need to hear more.

Whelp, I’m glad they responded and did something about it. Definitely a step in the right direction. I still refuse to buy any online-only game for more than $20 so I’ll be waiting a bit for it to become a budget game. That’s what I did with GT Sport, Need for Speed Heat, and a few other online-only titles.

Hmmm. I actually really enjoyed Dirt 5 (as well as the Rally titles) so it’s sad to see the brand potentially go. That being said, if they just rebrand the games as EA Sports Rally and they’re effectively the same game… I suppose that’s fine. We’ll have to wait and see.

It’s worth giving it a go. Now that the game has, I guess, “gone gold” over a year after its initial launch, it’s actually a really fun experience. Haven’t played through it all but it’s definitely worth trying if you have spare time this weekend.

This might sound sad but is it possible to play this in single-player? I love these games but don’t really like playing story-driven games with friends. I like to play solo and fully grasp the atmosphere, dialogue, and story.

Love this costume. Gives me a reason to jump back into Fall Guys for a short bit. I love the game but this season has been going on for so long that I haven’t been playing recently.

Arkham City and Asylum are my favs, but Origins is right behind them.

Knight is still great but it felt like they focused more on production value and gimmicks rather than making the core experience as fluid and fun as the other titles.

I only skimmed through the article but are people really saying you cannot enjoy both titles? Jeez, they’re both fantastic games just play whichever titles interest you, have fun, and let others do the same.

Lol I completely forgot about this train wreck.

Really cool but probably the worst possible time they could have done this. Horizon Forbidden West and Pokémon Legends just came out within the past few weeks and people are jumping back into CybePunk since it’s finally “complete” now. And with GRID Legends and obviously, Elden Ring out this Friday… this is probably the worst weekend they could have picked lol.

Eh, I don’t know why I care so much. I’ll be on vacation at the mountains this weekend lol.

@Bentleyma I might be doing the same. I’m planning on playing through Forbidden West when it’s cheaper sometime in the Spring/Summer and I’ve gotten through my current list of games to play. I don’t think I’ll have a PS5 by then so I might be snagging the PS4 version for my Pro given it doesn’t come to PC by the time I want to play it.

Still don’t have a PS5 so if I pick this up I’ll be playing at 30fps 1800p on my Pro.

Kinda funny how they went from making games for Microsoft and now they’re going to operate under Sony now. I didn’t like the original Destiny but I heard the sequel was a lot better, and given its free-to-play, maybe I’ll give a go sometime soon. It would be cool if they had Bungie work on the next Killzone or another PlayStaion property. If all this amounts to is Destiny 3 being a PlayStation exclusive… then that doesn’t really do anything for me lol.

I have a Switch, PS4 Pro, and PC so this entire fiasco is null to me. I’ll still have access to the games regardless but I’m a lucky one I suppose. Not lucky enough to randomly stumble upon a PS5 or Series X yet, but fortunate nonetheless.

Really like them. Not enough to replace the cover of my hard copies but they’re still very nice. Hopefully more anniversary stuff gets revealed before they call it a wrap. Loved the rebooted trilogy and would like another title!

Purple looks clean. I’m planning on picking up a PS5 at some point later this year… thinking of snagging the purple controller and purple plate. Either that or black.

Pretty cool it’s on PC but I’ll stick to my physical copy on my PS4 Pro. I’m not opposed to PS games going to PC but I don’t wanna buy a PS5 and have the entire library available on PC soon after.

Depends on the genre and the quality of the game but I’d say now that I’m older, I prefer my games to be between 10-25 hours. A little over is fine, but when games require like 50+ hours just to beat the main story I get pretty turned off and shift it further down my backlog lol.

Bring back Jak and Daxter or give us a new IP. Not that I’m against Uncharted or TLOU but I want to see what else the company can do. I’d love to see another 3D platformer!

Happy new year, fam! That's a very packed first couple of months. Just like Longondo said above, I too have a new year resolution to buy not buy any games until I finish most of my backlog. Got a ton to go!
