We've had to endure months of social media teasing from industry "insiders", but we're finally here: the newly tiered PlayStation Plus subscription service has been officially announced. Thank god. But it's safe to say that initial impressions have been mixed — as you'd probably expect.

If you haven't actually seen what the new PS Plus tiers look like, here's a very quick breakdown (and you can find our full article on the subject by clicking here):

  • PS Plus Essential - Base PS Plus as it is right now (£6.99 / $9.99 per month)
  • PS Plus Extra - Base PS Plus + a catalogue of "up to 400" PS5 and PS4 games that you can download (£10.99 / $14.99 per month)
  • PS Plus Premium - Base PS Plus + PS Plus Extra game catalogue + "340" additional games, including the ability to stream PS3 titles, and download or stream a selection of PS1, PS2, and PSP games (£13.99 / $17.99 per month)

But as always, we want to know what you think. Will you be subscribing to one of these new PS Plus tiers? Vote in our polls, and then give us an early verdict in the comments section below.
