Re: Gran Turismo 7's Huge PSVR2 Update Comes Alongside Four New Cars

AldusRavencorn

For the sake of people that won't be picking up a VR set I hope that it's more than just 4 cars in one of the "big updates". I know they say it takes 270 days to create a car and that is a huge undertaking but I don't think their effort translates to big in the mind of a lot of users. Would be nice if they at least added a customizable HUD, a couple of tracks or a few other goodies.

Re: What Happened to Little Devil Inside?

AldusRavencorn

I remember putting this on my wishlist at one point then it disappeared from it. Hadn't thought about it again until this articcal.

Along with this what ever happened to that game Pragmata, wish listed that as well and have heard nothing else since they announced it was pushed to 2023.

Re: Deathverse: Let It Die Going Offline to Be Redeveloped

AldusRavencorn

So the game is that bad that it can't be reworked in the 6 months between this announcement and the server going offline. What have they been doing since it's launch. How long will the shutdown take, days? months? years?

All that said I have never heard of this game. Hope they can pull it off even if I never played it. As I'm sure no creator sets out to make a poor game. Good luck.

Re: Valkyrie Elysium (PS5) - Quality Combat Elevates Drab Action RPG

AldusRavencorn

I liked the demo and I like the full release so far. I actually like the art style. I've never played other in the series so that's a non factor for me. Honestly I think what I like best is that it knows it's a GAME! Wooden character?! She's a Valkaryie that up until the game started didn't exist until Odin needed a new one for a very specific mission. What kind of depth are people expecting. To often releases are so focused on hyper realism, sprawling stories and then you end up with the Ubisoft game with 90 million side quest and collectibles and story beats that don't matter.

Re: Mini Review: Session: Skate Sim (PS5) - A Realism Focused Love Letter to Skating, For Better or Worse

AldusRavencorn

Never skated in real life but have always had a fascination with skateboarding and the surrounding skate culture. I can only do the simplest of tricks still but I'm enjoying skating around the city. The day to night cycle is great. The cities look good. There's a bit of polish that could be done to the animations and graphic but for a team of I believe 9 people releasing on multiple platforms this is a really good game.

Is it difficult most definitely but I don't see it as a con. There are also difficulty levels and assists that can be turned out to make it a bit less difficult. It's still hard but the assist def help. I don't see difficulty being a con in reviews for other difficult games Elden Ring, Sifu so why is it here?

Re: CDPR Confirms New Cyberpunk 2077 Update, Info Coming Next Week

AldusRavencorn

What I played of it was decent playing post next gen update) but ultimately fell off. The main story was interesting enough but the side missions had me constantly thinking "should I really be doing this given the circumstances V is faced with are really urgent" That's not very good for the immersion role playing aspect of the game.

Glad others are enjoying it and getting new content though.

Re: Skate Sick New Spots in Session's Depiction of Iconic San Francisco

AldusRavencorn

Something looks a bit off with the graphics. In some spots it looks really good in others it looks like a late cycle PS3 game. Also does anyone know if you can actually get off your board and walk. It's a minor nitpick but it always breaks immersion along with magically resetting after taking a fall. Interested in checking it out either way as almost being 40 I think I missed the train for hopping on anything other than a digital skateboard.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Stray?

AldusRavencorn

9/10 Doesn't overstay it's welcome, no overly complicated puzzle. The story is pretty straightforward but still well told and gives you just enough information but also leaves the wider world up to your imagination. The environments are amazing and feel very lived in.

Re: Best Free Games on PS5

AldusRavencorn

eFootball should be on the worst free games on PS5. With the update coming this week it might earn that spot on top. As it stands now it barely qualifieds as a playable demo.

Re: GTA 5 (PS5) - Rockstar's Los Santos Is Still One of the Best Open Worlds Ever Assembled

AldusRavencorn

Gave online a try for the first time and it's overwhelming. Always notifications and pinging happening telling me about multiple things all at the same time. It looks really good on the PS5, I think I haven't played GTA since the original release 10 years ago. I'll give it a few more chances but with all that crap constantly popping up I don't see myself sticking with it.

Re: Feature: Best Uses of PS5 DualSense Controller So Far

AldusRavencorn

If it does get more and improved use over time it won't happen until PS4 is put out to pasture. As long as devs are having to do double duty we aren't going to get the full PS5 experience as frequently as we'd like/should. This gen just launched at the worst possible time to get more consoles out there readily available.

Re: Gran Turismo 7's New Approach to Microtransactions Isn't Going Down Well

AldusRavencorn

I'd imagine this isn't as big an issue as the article wants to suggest. It's probably more that a few people who need to have things first are mad that it's going to cost them a lot of real money for those "bragging" rights. It's likely a lot of us will be playing this game for years and will eventually get the cars we want by just playing and enjoying the game.

Re: EA Sports Hints FIFA Has Been an Impediment As It Looks Set to Break Ties

AldusRavencorn

FIFA not being on the box only effects EA ability to have an officially licensed FIFA World Cup or FIFA Club World Cup in the game. Clubs, Leagues, UEFA Champions League, Copa Libertadores etc. are different licenses. Outside of having to put in the effort to rename/rebrand the game EA isn't losing much. FIFA isn't necessary for any company to put out a game as it just governs international competition. It doesn't even make the rules for the sport thats up to IFAB.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Sifu on PS5, PS4?

AldusRavencorn

I'm not one for harder games usually. I did beat Bloodborne but that was a long time ago when I probably had more patience. It looks interesting but I guess what worries me now is something like Returnal where you can play for hours only to die and have nothing to show for it. Then have a level regenerate in a totally new way. Sifu seems to be a shorter experience and the levels aren't randomized though. So if restarting over a level only sets me back 10 or 15 minutes and I can learn a pattern it might be worth ago.
