Captain America

A new Marvel game starring Captain America and Black Panther is set to be revealed later today at the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase if sources speaking to Eurogamer are correct. Originally reported by Twitter account MCU Status and then corroborated by the site, the title is set during World War II and sees the superhero duo take on the forces of Hydra.

"Eurogamer understands this to be correct," its article states. Today's event has already confirmed we'll catch a glimpse of the next game from the Uncharted creator along with "new reveals" from the likes of Marvel's Midnight Suns, recent release Disney Dreamlight Valley, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. However, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel's Wolverine are unlikely to be in attendance.

The latest Amy Hennig game was first announced back in October 2021, at which point it was described as a "narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure game, featuring a completely original story and take on the Marvel Universe". If the rumour turns out to be true, then this may actually be the first of two Black Panther games following reports of a project currently in the works at EA. A single player, open world game is apparently in the early stages of development.

Amy Hennig is also lending a helping hand on a new Star Wars title under Skydance New Media, but this game will be first out of the blocks, it appears. The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase begins today at 9pm BST / 1pm PT / 4pm ET.
