Re: PSVR2 to Lose the Support of Its Best Game This Month

AldusRavencorn

""look to the future and plan the next big leap for Beat Saber"

So DLC and support is on going for other platforms... cool cool cool. Just say you didn't hit the numbers you wanted to on PS4/5. If the numbers warranted the continued support wouldn't you want to bring along the PS players for the "big leap"

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Bloodborne, 10 Years Later?

AldusRavencorn

This is the only FromSoft game I've really gotten into. I loved the setting, the story and the gameplay. BB was my first FromSoft game so maybe that has something to do it. I've tried most of the other games and they just don't do it for me. A sequel would be great but this is the one time I'd be hyped for a remake remaster.

Re: Horizon Rip-Off Light of Motiram Will Actually Come to PS5

HZD is in my top 5 game and I'm one of the few who didn't care for HFW.

It definitely is borrowing heavy from HZD but that's for Sony/Guerilla to decide if that is a problem for them, which is doesn't seem to be. All that matters to me is if it's a good game.

This also seems like a natural evolution of what I would have thought the world in Horizon would come to. The embrace and use of tech by all of humanity.

Re: Photorealistic The Sims Rival inZOI Will Eventually Settle on PS5

Lighting, blinking and micro facial movements are hard to model there are 43 muscles in the face that are always just slightly moving. It's definitely close to realistic but without those things it's just a bit off. With that said I don't think this game is going to have intense Death Stranding, TLoU cinematic cutscene that the artists are given that license to really push to that level. So it still looks really good.

I'd probably pick it up on sale though as I've only ever dabbled in the sims and never really stuck with it.

Re: Mini Review: Valorant (PS5) - A Fantastic, One of a Kind Competitive Shooter

AldusRavencorn

After play about 20 hours of the beta and getting one shotted by PC players was enough for me to tap out. The subreddit was full of PC players complaining about the fact that the console version existed only for them to join and the obliterate all the fresh console players. Couldn't get matches with crossplay turned off but the ship has sailed for me now so I won't be going back.

Re: Free EA Sports FC 25 Rival UFL Kicks Off on 12th September

AldusRavencorn

Only a rival for those into the card collecting ultimate team modes. If you enjoy offline single player gameplay and career modes EAFC or old modded PES games are still your only choices. Hopefully that FIFA and 2K team up pans out to be the true rival to EA as Konami clearly have no interest in fighting it out anymore.

Re: EA Sports College Football 25 (PS5) - Stunning Sim Worth the 10 Year Wait

AldusRavencorn

@AdamNovice College football has a lot of traditions, history and stadium atmosphere specific to each school which I'd say is what's most similar to club football. I'd rather go to a CFB game before an NFL game just for the vibe. The first college football game was played in 1869 and for years college football I'd say was more popular than professional football. The NFL started in 1920, but I'd say it wasn't until 2000 that the NFL truly became the most popular form of North American football. I'd almost say CFB is still more popular overall due to the number of teams.

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

AldusRavencorn

Only one I really loved was Bloodborne. 50% is my enjoyment was the atmosphere and setting of Yharnam, the other 50% is some combination of gameplay and the lore/story. I'm not a fan or remasters/reboots but BB is definitely the one I'd be hyped to play.

Re: EA Sports College Football 25 Will Be One of USA's Biggest PS5 Games This Year

AldusRavencorn

As someone that really hasn't sunk time into a CFB/Madden game was probably 2007/08 and have maybe played 20 hours total of Madden in the following years I can say there is one aspect so far that is really disappointing...

It basically assumes you know how all the mechanics of the game work already. There is a challenge and practice mode but it doesn't really explain how to execute anything (unless I've been missing it). Just from basic gaming knowledge and vague memories I'm able to execute things but have no real sense of if I'm doing it the right way. There is a bit of a tutorial within the Ultimate team mode but it's actually a bit too basic and leans more to teaching you about the sport in general.

Having real players in the game I guess is a good thing but ultimately is useless as if you go past the 4th year in Dynasty mode they're going to be all fake players anyway.
