How I wish for a game that has the Monster Hunter concept, but with Ys VIII style fast paced action. The clunkiness of Monster Hunter kills it for me.

I hated everything about Concord. It’s so generic it seems AI generated (from a “Guardians of the Galaxy style FPS” prompt).

Too many f2p games.

Too much uninspired fantasy.

Astro Bot looks fun, but it still looks like a free PS5 demo game, instead of being its own thing.

Is every game going to be f2p now? Just because of what market analysts said? This seems like a dangerous strategy as people who don’t play f2p games are usually quite passionate about hating them.

And there goes my hope for a Monster Hunter game without clunky combat.

What they established in that short time was a perfect reproduction of bad acting and writing.
“Bring out the big guns”, seriously??

Oh and they just gender/species swapped every character from Guardians and it’s ridiculous.

@Nepp67 Well yeah if I pay 70€ for a game, they shouldn’t charge me extra for some leftovers. That feels like punishment for not waiting to buy the complete edition for the same price.
But go ahead and get screwed over by greedy companies if that’s your thing.

I never want to go back but always get fomo. It’s like being punished for paying and playing day one.

Great I paid 70€ for 30 hours of ‘follow the marker and tap square’ but apparently I had to pay 95€ for another 10 hours of ‘follow the marker and tap square’

I assumed all that DLC would be included in the PS5 version.

Well it’s too late now. Already quit playing this halfway through because I’ve played Kirby games more challenging than this.

“Follow the marker and keep tapping square” should be the official strategy guide.

@Mortal If you don’t own the PS4 version yet, it makes sense that you’d pay for the game, right?

Maybe the milking is reaching its saturation point. I loved this world when I first played it, but the endless spin-offs and re-releases have taken away much of the magic.

Same reason why Star Wars used to be special and now it’s just about creating ‘content, content, CONTENT!’

They made dusty, generic medieval European fantasy feel fresh again. Now I’d like them to do the same to sci-fi.

@Kienda I have been excited for these games for many years. But I’m just burnt out. There’s so many other Final Fantasy universes they could have explored.

Still waiting for that Laguna spin-off and more FF9 love. So I guess seeing Cloud is now a reminder of how they milk one and neglect the rest.

Naughty Dog and Insomniac, those are AAAA studios.
There are many indie games that look more polished than AC Mirage.

As much as I love Jak & Daxter, I’m more excited to see something new. A sci-fi action adventure with a colourful art style like Crash & Jak would be a dream come true.

These game titles are getting more and more banal. I can just imagine some corporate non-gamer suit saying: “The consumer needs to know what it’s about” 🤦‍♂️

@species True, and I’ve played some amazing DLC before, but it always feels a bit like getting punished for playing something at launch. I usually don’t have any interest in going back after a year.

I wish DLC would just disappear forever. Instead we’ll have a very frustrating gaming future.

They're really shooting themselves in the foot by releasing this now instead of after TLOU3 is announced.

I'm going to replay 1 and 2 some day but it can definitely wait until it costs 30€

What Final Fantasy needs is a completely different art style again. All the characters look so similar now. Look at the diversity of 7, 8 and 9. It’s like we’ve been getting the same cookie cutter characters ever since FF13. Give us a colourful cel shaded style or anything that feels like a vision rather than catering to what works on the current market.

@CWill97 Combat felt a bit similar to Ys 8 & 9, but a bit less ‘tight’. That and the Tales series seem to be the best references.

@EfYI I’m also their core user base and I’m glad Joel was killed off and Abby is my favourite character in gaming.

It’s not a bad idea for a difficulty option but it should never be the standard.

Not gonna lie. I wasn’t looking forward to some endlessly updated money and time consumer that I’d feel obligated to play as a fan of the franchise.

It’s not my style either. It sure grabs the attention. But it doesn’t bother me to see someone go further in self-expression than I would.
People like this are important, because they challenge us to question the things we take for granted and the absurdity of some societal norms. That can be a valuable lesson to some ‘normal’ people.
All these different identities have a function in making sure we grow as a species. Like teaching you not to judge people whose skin you’ve never been in.
Good for you on recognising that he might need help. Perhaps you can try to start from that thought instead of what the facade tells you about his worth.

@Northern_munkey So society decided that facial tattoo’s are a big no no. I appreciate him for not conforming to that, simply because it’s wrong for other people to decide what you can do to your body.
Facial tattoos are/were common and normal in many cultures, by the way.

@Porco You don’t have to try and explain why it’s supposedly bad. I know all the arguments. None of them make sense to me.
The biggest mistake was in the marketing. They should have made it clear that people were going to play as Abby and not as Joel. Too many people had wrong expectations.

@Porco Makes sense that my favourite game of all time would be a divisive one. At least it made you feel things. I’d argue it’s the strongest people have ever felt about a game. Especially the ones who hate it so passionately. The reasons people give why this is bad, are often quite hilarious. Especially because they usually demonstrate an advanced knowledge about how to craft a predictable and meaningless story.

Whatever the new project is, I hope it’s very different from TLOU and Uncharted. Something cartoony with ND’s current level of polish would be amazing.
And I think we can all agree Jak & Daxter need to return.

Can anyone explain to me why FF13 got so much hate for being a long hallway, yet this game gets all the praise in the world? At least in FF13 there was some semblance of difficulty to keep me entertained. This felt very much like the Japanese Witcher rollercoaster ride for kids.

Those suits and robot designs look amazing. Too bad the faces don't. I would have preferred more stylised visuals instead of this half baked realism.

I must be the only person in the world who thinks Kratos just sounds too silly to take seriously. It makes me crack up every time he opens his mouth with that pompous voice. I get it, you're a god.
Fun game, though. I didn't need a sequel.
