Film studio A24 has revealed it's partnering with Kojima Productions to bring the live-action movie adaptation of Death Stranding to the big screen. To celebrate, a $40 t-shirt featuring the A24 logo in the style of Death Stranding is available to buy. While undeniably cool, you're essentially paying to promote a business deal. Here it is, from small to 2XL sizing:
A24 has a long track record for distributing quality films, with its back catalogue including Everything Everywhere All at Once, Uncut Gems, Lady Bird, Hereditary, and Midsommar.
Beyond today's news, we know Hideo Kojima will be involved, but he won't be directing the flick. Instead, he's "deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design and content of the film adaptation". And that's basically all that's official. I won't get the t shirt but I would definitely watch the film, heard good things about 'Everything Everywhere all at Once' and Uncut Gems was relentless but brilliant (Sandlers best film in years).
Really good to see Kojima get his ideas on the silver screen, clearly a dream of his realised 🤞
@homelesscretin IF it was really good quality, and more importantly fit really well it's not crazy. But I doubt it on both counts. I'll stick with buying several for that cost!
That said Balenciaga charge around £550 - £975 for one of their tees (I hate this brand)
A24 definitely a great fit for this. They are Annapurna Games equivalent of the movie industry, mid to low budgets but quality is almost guaranteed.
A24 are possibly the best studio to do a Death Stranding movie.
@themightyant bit of an odd comparison to make because annapurna does films as well, and A24 seems to be going into more 'higher' budget films, or at least looking that way lately.

I'll tell you who do, people who don't their clothes to be produced with modern slavery. Also, people who value more environmtentally friendly clothes.
I try to make somewhat conscious decisions while shopping clothes, with regards to quality and the world we live in. The short story is that it's not possible to buy clothes and make the world a better place, but I try to be somewhat mindful. And I'm very used to paying 40+ for a shirt. I don't buy a lot of clothes, which is why I'm fine with spending extra on clothes.
I believe the A24 is made in America (no sweatshops), and is of high quality. So it's not "too insane".
That being said, most people who spend 40 dollars on a shirt.... they just want it to have a Nike logo on it or something.

I love A24 and it's a great fit, but squashing this into two and a half hours? Eep.
In my mind, the entire ethos of Death Stranding only works within an interactive medium. I’m curious to see what kind of out of the box thinking could be brought to this.
This will be a unique case where, in retrospect, the game will feel like an adaptation of the film.
Love A24. So many great, off the cuff, movies. Of their latest I want to see Dream Scenario, The Zone of Interest and Civil War. Death Stranding seems like a perfect fit!
I was thinking about who they might cast to play Sam in this movie, but then I realized the obvious.
