@GamingGod Sadly I wouldn't get your hopes up given that it is the very last bullet point, even after "new opening movie". I'm expecting very minor changes, nothing wholesale. They've essentially not made any major changes or improvements to Sport Mode since day 1, doubt that'll change now.
@Medic_alert Nah, it's the days/weeks/months that followed where people bought it that was the bigger contributor. Had they sold 12 copies of that armor, they wouldn't have done it again nor anyone else copied.
@TheArt So long as they remain the same architecture console generations are now just going to be like PC low/medium/high settings now. In this case PS5 will be low, PS5 Pro Medium, PS6 High.
Not quite that literal of course, but yeah, far easier for devs to scale these games to the different consoles now they're the same architecture from one to the other. A far cry from a dev deciding whether to also create a PS3 CELL version of their new PS4 title.
@purple_mouse_gaming that would rightfully get shot down in outrage very quickly. If people pay for a product and there is no notice at point of sale that it won't be able to be activated until X date you can't just add that barrier afterwards. Except in the case of stolen copies it's not the consumers fault they got it early.
It would also mean those people who don't have internet connection, no matter how few they are, can now never play the game. Worse than the XBox One fiasco.
@anoyonmus If you're a racing game officianado, then yes, GT7 and Horizon are obviously very different. But to a casual person who just wants a car game, and doesn't particularly care about the specifics, this is definitely going to be a bit of competition for GT7. It has hundreds of real cars, you can drive and race them. Just like GT7. That's all that some people look for.
I hope it does give PD a kick up the rear, about time they had some form of direct competition on PS5 to push them to at least try.
I've never really understood the point of video game information leakers. What do you gain knowing something weeks/months/whatever before it's officially announced? Leaking content, I get that, it makes sense. Leak an internal demo of a game? Worthwhile, you get something out of it. But knowing that a game will exist three weeks before the people making it tell you it will exist, wow. Life changing stuff.
Sony used to get dumped on that every new game was a 3rd person narrative "Walking sim", now it seems that they and third parties are all releasing team based shooters or Hack and Slash/Souls clones/action RPGs
Concord - team shooter Marvel Rivals - team shooter Ballad of Antara - Soulslike/Hack and slash Where Winds Meet - Action RPG Monster Hunter Wilds - Action RPG Path of Exile - Action RPG Skydance’s Behemoth - Action RPG
..and it's not like we're already short in these genres. Sure these games are not exactly all the same, but the broad genres and in many ways, the art style, are.
Finally Astro Bot saves things with with a bright action platformer.
No racing games. No puzzle games. No simulations. No, ironically, third person narrative adventure "walking sims". No 2D Metroidvania or Platform games. No Fighting game. No traditional fantasy RPG. No stealth action games. No Sports.
It's said that people only complain because they didn't show games they wanted, but is it any wonder when it's so limited in scope?
@Jacko11 We've been hearing this for years though. "Console shortages, just wait for X" "Covid happened, just wait for X", "Games take a while, just wait for X"
Seems like we're constantly waiting for the big guns that still aren't coming.
@Kidfunkadelic83 GT7 has far less events than the previous games, and the events they do have, are almost all very short. You can have the entire cafe mode done in about 12 hours, 3-4 more for the extra events.
Missions again aren't that extensive and I don't particulary count Circuit Mastery AKA time trials as content personally. Even more so when a lot of them they just copied verbatim from GT Sport where I already did them.
Now they're adding "weekly challenges" which sounds great on paper, except 4/5 of them aren't even new, they're just asking you to re-do the menu book races again.
They have so much potential with the game that they aren't using, so many cars don't have many events.
@Kidfunkadelic83 oh and also, consider the quality of that content. What did the extra set of license tests add, really? They're just more of the same that we've been doing for decades, they don't even serve a purpose. Nothing is unlocked by beating them and getting the "license".
They'll be re-releasing it on PS6 for sure and maybe PS7 so I highly doubt it. It'll be another GTA with huge legs, PS4 isn't going to factor into that.
@Xboxbummer It really isn't. In fact, it's a stretch to even call it a career. It's a circa 12 hour run of 'races' where you start last and have to finish top 3 to acquire a car. Rinse and repeat. It also ends rather premeturely with GT3 races, there is nothing for LMP2/1/prototype cars like the old games.
Yes there are also license tests, time trials and missions but they're not part of a 'career mode'.
The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ’18 is already in the game, they're not adding it outright as a new car. All they're doing is sending you one for free, and adding the livery.

@Ravix don't know about other people but I literally cannot play first person games, they give me motion sickness.

Re: Video: Is Concord Destined to Fail?
@theSpectre yeah but the question is what does this game have to make that crowd want to play it over the game they're already playing?
Re: Video: Is Concord Destined to Fail?
I still don't see a USP, something to hook me in to play this over any of the competition. It all just looks very generic.
Re: Big New PS5, PC Shooter Concord Has an Uphill Battle Ahead of It
I just have one simple question - what is the USP? Because I can't find one.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.46 Adds New Exclusive Car to PS5, PS4 Racer
@Kidfunkadelic83 it still has FAR less races/events than Gran Turismo 4 did. GT4 also had more cars and more tracks.
Also, extra menus are not content. You just have to go and get the three cars, if you already have them they're already done. That ain't gameplay.

£10 to £15 will be worth it.
