Re: Poll: Do You Think Single Player Games Are Really In Danger of Dying Out?

wbh1138

While multiplayer games are undoubtedly popular, could it be the industry that wants more of them over single player games?
Think about it. Single player games can be played and then sold on which the industry doesn't like.
With multiplayer games you keep the game longer and resale is limited because by the time most will have finished with a game there won't be many others to go online with.
Just saying

Re: Soapbox: PlayStation Plus Price Hike - Is It Justified?

Businesses exist to make money.
Businesses with shareholders have extra pressure to make money.
That's capitalism.
If they'd put the price up a little each year or two no one would be moaning but we'd be paying even more.
It's a shame Sony didn't offer a reason or say there'd be more benefit. But hey.
I dare say most of those moaning will stay pay
For me? I'll buy a year before the increase and stack it. I'll get 16 months before the increase that way

Re: Hands On: Quit Bitchin'! PS4 Pro Is a Big, Beautiful Step Forward

wbh1138

I don't doubt that the Pro makes a difference but it's still the price of a new console for an updated version.
And like others here I'm worried that developers will blame performance issues on the lower spec machines. This is what put me off PC gaming many years ago.
@get2sammyb I'd also like to ask how you will review games now.

Re: Video: What Does the Nintendo Switch Mean for PlayStation?

wbh1138

I've always thought the reason that Nintendo's handhelds sell better than Sony is that the former are chunky, quite utilitarian devices you don't mind taking out with you and chucking in a bag.
The PSP and Vita are gorgeous devices you want to look after. And, therefore, don't use away from home.
So I wonder if this more stylish Nintendo device will work quite as well as the mobile device it's being pushed as.

I'm in UK and got mine evening of the 15th.
Nice gesture from Sony. They didn't have to do it.
Have I ever got anything when my electricity supply has been interrupted? No.
How about when my TV, broadband or mobile service goes down? Mmmm? Sometimes if I've made a fuss.
I bet those who complain about it "only being a day" won't refuse to take it lol

Re: Talking Point: Is the Force Strong with Star Wars Battlefront on PS4?

wbh1138

Not a big fan of multiplayer but am a big Star Wars fan.
I LOVE it
Not missing a single player campaign. They always get criticised in games which are mostly for multiplayer anyway.
Season pass is pricey but I'll either buy individually as and when I can afford it or wait for a deal.
So much negativity for every game released these days it seems but it's fun, no issues with servers and Dice have done an excellent job of making the game feel like Star Wars.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront Beta Forces Another Day on PS4

wbh1138

@Patinator I enjoyed it too. And I don't normally get on with online shooters. I'm looking forward to the full version.
As for the balance issue in Walker Assault. Why should it be equal? Why not have a slim chance of winning? It's as it was in the film and you swap sides anyway.

Re: PSN Offline for Second Day as Attackers Bring Servers Down

wbh1138

@jess1963 how much refund will you get back for a few days loss of service?
Sure it would cost Sony a lot if we all did it but that's what Lizard Squad want.
They want us all moaning and Sony to lose out.
Don't play in to their hands. Stand up to these annoying childish idiots.

Re: Review: Rocksmith 2014 Edition (PlayStation 4)

I have this and the original Rocksmith on PS3 and think it's fantastic.
Unlike lessons and other teaching aids you can do whatever you like so there's no getting bored because you MUST do scales today or MUST get a chord right.
And unlike a game such as Guitar Hero you don't get thrown out of a song if you don't do well enough.
Can't recommend this highly enough for anyone wanting to learn to play.
