Potentially good news if you applied for the PlayStation 4 firmware 4.0 beta and didn't receive an invite, as Sony's sending out a second wave of emails. Maybe you'll get lucky this time around.
The beta allows participants to sample the system's next update, which adds folders so that you can organise your games and apps, and features a revamped, slicker user interface. We imagine that the full release of the firmware update can't be far away - especially since Sony has its big PlayStation Meeting in New York early next month.
Have you nabbed a spot in the beta? Don't leak any details in the comments section below.

Yep, got mine an hour or so ago. It looks pretty sweet.
I got mine and i really like what they have done. Folders are great and so is the quick menu as before the quick menu the system would seriously lag when leaving the game to look at something. (not anymore)
Im just waiting to be able to post bugs i find as at the moment i cant delete items from my download list. Items that say "installed" are just stuck there. (maybe not a bug though, perhaps intentional)
Something only minor but i do like everything that doesnt need to be there to be gone.
@Danny2014 I get the option to start or clear from list when clicking the actual download. But yeah, an options>clear all would be handy.
@Drawfull ahh i feel stupid now if i just need to click them.
Before we had to press options then delete. I was doing that and nothing was happening lol.
Ill go double check xD
@Drawfull. And it does of course work just like you said so thank you for telling me.
xD
I did get selected just today I felt really happy, and DAMN I'm even more happy after it's installed so many new features to enjoy, so little time
@Danny2014 no worries, I was using options at first, too.
Just seen PS NOW is much improved (still not brilliant, but at least there are more sections including games listed by their first letter) - is that part of the beta or system-wide?
@Drawfull just a quick question. Where did you get your invite? In the notifications>From PlayStation
Section or just was it a message from PSN like it used to be like on ps3?
@Alpha Email - there's nothing in my notifications apart from PS+ ending soon messages.
thanks for the article just looked at my email and got an invite weird that there doing more than one wave don't remember them doing that in the past.
Nice to see a positive reaction to the update on here. Folders will certainly come in handy for sure. And while it doesn't effect me it would be cool if Sony can allow external HDD support in the near future.
Don't think the full release will be out for awhile. Says the code expires October 13, unless it's just a failsafe and they know it'll be out sooner but who knows.
@Mikemyerz666 I was going to post something similar in response to the Push Square's post, but mine says it expires 1/1/17
@danny2014 you report bugs through the forum. The link should be on your email.
@Danny2014 The email with the code should also have a link to the beta forums.
@dryrain just looked at email and seen the links.
Thank you xD
@mmarkster i just looked and seen the links on the email.
Thank you xD
Got my invite
Be testing later
I always get invite in the first wave.
I just wish that, I knew where to file bug reports/feedback
They are going really fast. Today is new wave because its newer version of beta software (beta 2 -> beta 3). So it seems they widen user base because it is more and more stable. Great !
I got in, woo!
got mine this afternoon licking what they have done with the folders and quick launch and no bugs so far
I'm in, just downloading now
If there more beta getting sent out what time will it be for uk time please thank you i' am still waiting on beta from wave of PS4 firmware 4.00 beta code to be sent to me by email i have never had the chance of trying it out
Loving the folders but the main bugbear so far is that you can't make games stick at the front, and you can't put the tvsection (sky, netflix etc) into a folder
I didn't get mine, why?
