Re: PS Plus Essential Games for March 2026 Announced

vikramsingh

@Olmaz I played ESO mainly as a single player game and loved it. There are certain areas or activities suited for PvE multiplayer, but if you wish to stick to storyline and main side-quests it plays wonderfully fine. Game mechanics are forgiving and levelling up can be fun. Quests can include stealth elements and lots of talking with NPCs (all voiced).

Admittedly, I am not big on multiplayer games so I never even attempted the parts where you need to team-up. I wanted something like Skyrim and it did not disappoint. I met other players who were at much higher level than mine and it was not possible to reach that level without multiplayer grinding.

While towns are filled with NPCs you will find other players crowding crafting stations and on same quest as yours so the atmosphere may not be totally single-player, but as long as you can look past that, it can be rewarding elder scrolls experience.

I had a lot of fun with ESO few years ago on PS4 Pro. I also subscribed to their separate online subscription for a few months. They offer yearly expansions which add new regions (like Morrowind, High Isles etc.) and Gold Road includes everything until 2024. The ESO currently on sale includes 2025 content pack too. But if you are just beginning, Gold Pack offers a lot of stuff to keep you happy for months.

Re: Mobile App Addictions Are Quickly Becoming a Serious Threat to Video Games, Report Claims

@get2sammyb while superficially it may seems like change of times, there’s very specific targeted science behind this all. Large social networks have employed psychology to hijack attention. Gaming on the other hand is still grey area for psychologists. Some games, with short reward loops employ same psychology as apps. So even among gaming population there might seismic shift towards games which work same as apps. For example, in open world games, dotted with question marks, I have to be especially careful if my dopamine baseline is being hijacked. Neurodivergent people are highly susceptible to this. Thankfully, AI has rescued me more than once. Like I recently quit assassin’s creed shadows to more slow paced KCD1.

Re: Rumour: PS Portal OLED Version Coming This Year

vikramsingh

@get2sammyb Should have had OLED to begin with. With HDR being integral part of modern media consumption , a standard edge lit IPS is now barely baseline. Perhaps costs held them back, or they wanted to set 'anchor' price among customers with first iteration since it was practically a new category. Seeing people are more than willing to pay for such a device, there are a lot of bells and whistles which can now be added. Although I wonder if they will first launch 400nits units and then bump up peak brightness in another iteration later. Note: I do not own a Portal.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS1 at Launch?

vikramsingh

@Decimateh-xblz still remember pulling an all-nighter with my mate at his house playing Parasite Eve 2. We absolutely adored RE series and PE2 was amazing. Back then, RE formula felt like the best way to experience games.

As a side note, my PS1 story is quite different from most of the comments here. Where I live, PS3 was the first console officially launched. But that did not stopped us from getting PS1 and PS2. Although my world was definitely very very different.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for August 2025?

vikramsingh

I have been waiting for RE2 and RE3 for sake of nostalgia. My PS1 era game collection was limited and RE games stand out for introducing me to a whole new genre (SH1 upped the ante considerably though). Coming from Sega Genesis it was a huge leap both cinematically and in narrative storytelling. RE2 music still transports me to a different era. 🙂

Re: Street Fighter's Dhalsim Is, Like, Super Sexy Now

If only we had few more fellow Indians on PushSquare, the comment section would have exploded! I am not a Bollywood fan but good for Vidyut. While not a gaming crazy nation, many Indians who grew up in the 90s like me, Street Fighter would definitely ring a bell. I remember long hours with neighborhood kids slugging it out in PvP during summer vacations. And having a local lad in live action Street Fighter sounds as crazy as using yoga for combat!

Re: Some PS Plus Users Can't Download Diablo 4

vikramsingh

Never downloaded the trial. Says, 'Not available for purchase'. And changing the version does not works - at least in the app. Hopefully, as someone mentioned in another thread, it might work if redeemed via PS5. Will try later this evening.

Re: PS Plus Price Increases Confirmed for 15 Countries by Sony

vikramsingh

@GirlVersusGame I guess, instead of raising prices, big corporations should offer discounted prices in countries where’s people face other financial challenges (with long term benefits in mind). Here in India, where average income is even lower, a lot of companies have India specific monthly subscription plans. For example Apple subscriptions are really cheap in comparison to first world countries. Btw, I paid approx US$58 equivalent for my PS Plus Deluxe this year.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for April 2025 Announced

In Reddit prediction thread Robocop was the most mentioned game. It felt like it was almost inevitable. That’s why I didn’t picked it up in the sale few weeks ago. Wanted to try it but only if or when it arrived on plus. A guy there also predicted Texas chainsaw.

Re: Embrace the Ghoul Within with Fallout 76's Latest Update on PS4

vikramsingh

@trev666 I might be be one of the people you just described. While I do not actively hate it, the limited time I spent with it didn’t gave me that Fallout kick I was craving for after Fallout 4. I have sunk countless hours in Elder Scrolls Online (playing solo) and it felt just the thing to scratch my elder scrolls itch. Maybe it set my expectations with Fallout 76 differently. I do hope I can dive in sometime in future and realise how wrong I was.

Sorry for the English, not my first language 😀

Re: You Can Get a Head Start on Next Week's Big PS Plus Game

vikramsingh

I wish there was a PS Plus Premium trial for DA (I know there’s one if you have EA Play). I recently finished DD2 and don’t want to start a new game just for the weekend. Can’t wait to sink my teeth into DA:V and a trial would have been proper head start. Character creator is more like a teaser.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for March 2025 Announced

I resubscribed PS Plus this month after much thinking. And now I think it was totally worth it since I was pretty sure I was going to buy Veilguard next from the store. Never expected this with all the general emotions that PS Plus was going downhill every month.

What a surprise!!!
