What will come out first: KOTOR remake or Abandoned?

@Czar_Khastik Critics didn't like it, but it appears to be getting a much better reception among the general public (much like Days Gone).

Kenzan should be the next game especially after Ishin! got an excellent remake. There are also a few more Japan-only titles that need to make the jump.

@jedinite No, they replaced it with Puerto Rican flag which is what it was supposed to be. Though, even if they did put in a pride flag, again, oh my god, gay people exist. Who cares?

Nah, I've got really no interest in any of these games. But that's okay, between Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, South Park Snow Day!, Stellar Blade, Helldivers II, and Alone in the Dark, I've got more than enough to play right now. There's also NG+ in Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake II for when I'm done with those.

@Jaz007 Xbox has continually promised first party AAA games day 1 and how many of those have actually released? Gears 5, Halo Infinite, Starfield, cough cough Redfall. That's about it. There is no way that Game Pass can pay for all of these massive games. MS would be laughed out of the room if they wanted to launch a game like Spider-Man day 1 on a subscription service.

@DennisReynolds Yep, people are dumb. They are still trying to claim that Abby is trans in The Last of Us Part II. And proving that, while they are complaining about it, they didn't actually play the game.

@pyrrhic_victory Not even that, if one of these anti-wokers don't like anything, they immediately call it woke. Spider-Man 2 is woke all because there is a minor side quest where you help a high school student as his boyfriend to prom. Oh my god, gay people exist. The horror! Horizon Forbidden West is woke because Aloy has the OPTION to kiss a girl. Completely ignoring the fact that you don't have to do that.

@DennisReynolds I saw a reddit thread about someone who posted a tweet claiming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth went woke because it's about saving the environment. Like, did they not play the original game in 1997?

Ok, but when is Sony going to let me sort my trophy lists on PS5? It's still weird that PS3 is the device that alphabetizes the trophies. Neither PS4 nor PS5 do it.

@MomsSpaghetti Those articles are basically based on physical Japanese sales. A market where almost nothing sells physically anymore. Wait until the digital sales are reported. It's true that Final Fantasy isn't exactly the biggest seller these days, but Final Fantasy XVI and VII Remake both sold much better when accounting for digital sales. Rebirth is doing just fine.

@add286 If a game gets a 90+ for user score, then it has done something right. IMO, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the BEST PS5-only game of this generation.

Please give me Quantum Break on PS5.

@AhmadSumadi I get that take. I still may play Skyrim at some point, but I've got so many games ahead of it in my queue. I avoided Final Fantasy XIV like the plague for so long because of my complete aversion to multiplayer. And yet, now, I'm about to start Endwalker and try to log in as much as possible.

@MomsSpaghetti Same. At various times, I've tried Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. Never played any for more than about an hour. Even Fallout New Vegas, being an Obsidian game, feels much more like a Bethesda game than an Obsidian one. Never played Skyrim or Fallout 4.

I've never been able to get into any Bethesda game, be it Fallout or Elder Scrolls (and have ZERO interest in Starfield). It seems like every rpg from The Witcher to Final Fantasy to Zelda to even Yakuza/Like a Dragon of all games has left Bethesda games in the dust. I doubt, at this point, after the massive string of disappointments Bethesda has had ever since Skyrim launched, that there is any way TES6 can live up to it.

@Tecinthebrain Just remember, even if the game is an 11/10, it won't cause people to sell their PS5s to play on Xbox.

@savarunl I think the side content is intentional to really increase the bond between the characters and specifically the player with the characters. I think, there is the understanding going into the game, that most everyone knows about what is going to happen at the game's climax. So Square Enix devised a new way for that event to be impactful by making us spend countless hours with these characters to increase that bond.

I finished this game a few days and I can say, without conviction, it's a 10 out of 10. Everything is damn near perfect. The characters are livelier than ever. Even Cait Sith has been drastically improved. The graphics (even in UE4) are utterly gorgeous. The world feels lived in. The combat is a thing of beauty. I don't really have a bad thing to say about it. Maybe the moogle mini games could have been dropped.

No issues for me, been playing Final Fantasy XIV no problem.

Metacritic score is a bit lower than I expected. But I'll still be picking this one up. I learned a long time ago to basically ignore reviewers, the way they collectively decided Days Gone was trash from the first 5 hours of the game was the last straw for me. Not to mention, how many reviews of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth spent half the time whining about the ending? Play it and form your own opinion.

Nice to know Rockstar haven't completely forgotten about RDR2. For a game that has sold over 60 million copies, they sure do treat it like the unwanted step child in comparison their obsession with GTAV.

I honestly have been loving the way Arrowhead is marketing this game and how they are (cheekily) gas lighting all of the fans. Some other companies could take a hint.

I just finished Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (and haven't stopped thinking about that ending). Glad to see Rise of the Ronin getting a great review and hope the great reviews keep coming in. Though, I'm going to play it regardless.

Review scores across the board are in the 6/10 range, which isn't terrible. I wasn't expecting the world with this game. I'm still gonna pick it up. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but 6/10 is the highest score an Alone in the Dark game has received in nearly 20 years.

@LifeGirl I will die on the hill saying SSX Tricky is the greatest snowboarding game ever.

This game is dead. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Ugh, why is anybody giving these clickbait articles the time of day? EVERY game's physical sales are down and most games, that aren't GTAV, drop nearly 90% in the second week. On top of that, this is Japan where physical sales are down even further than in other areas. Spider-Man 2, Starfield, Final Fantasy XVI, etc. all experienced higher digital sales than physical and experienced sharp drop off week on week. This is normal and not at an indictment on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's quality or reception.

@Shigurui Eh, I'd rather Naughty Dog give us the ability to unlock the multiplayer trophies so we can actually GET the platinum.

Personally, I found it funny that the platinum trophy name was messed up and would rather they had left it.

Not a bad lineup. I might hop into NBA 2K24. The highlight this month has to be Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier. Resident Evil 3 is also a great addition, though I've already platinumed it....twice.

@Bentleyma It started life at Naughty Dog as a PS3 game, but was given to High Impact Games and retooled for PS2 and PSP.

@Professor_Niggle I'll get to Helldivers II, but I've just got too much to play at the moment (you can probably figure out from my pic what I'm currently playing). On top of that, over the next 2 months we've got Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, South Park: Snow Day, and Alone in the Dark, all of which are on my radar. From what I've heard, Concord is sort of like Guardians of the Galaxy, whatever that means. Fairgame$ has a lot of potential, I just hope they don't screw it up. As for Bungie, it's probably time to sunset Destiny and move on to Marathon. Though, I hope Sony gets them to make a full single player campaign for Marathon as that would be insane and Bungie is long overdue for new single player content.

If this is the next one, please, please, PLEASE, have Nixxes do it. Keep Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy away from The Last of Us Part II on PC.

@Professor_Niggle My bad, it can be hard to understand intent in these comments sometimes lol. Agreed, though. There are good live service games (I love Final Fantasy XIV and Helldivers II appears to be insane, though I haven't played it). I think the failure comes when studios who don't know how to make them (or don't want to) get forced to do it. That's how we get a Suicide Squad or a Redfall. It's how Deviation Games fails or how we get a Halo Infinite. Hopefully, Concord and Fairgame$ turn out better than most. I still lament the loss of The Last of Us Online, but seeing the falls of Rocksteady and Arkane, it was probably for the best. We don't want to lose Naughty Dog.

@Professor_Niggle I didn't say Sony doesn't work well with studios. I said it was a failure of the live-service push. I think these games are just a massive gamble and so many of them fail. Live-service is a far bigger risk than other games. Every year multiple live-service games shut down (some right after launch). Only a select few are ever successful and rarely immediately. Honestly, (MMORPGs notwithstanding), I think I can count on one hand the number of live service games that have succeeded: Destiny 2, GTA Online, Sea of Thieves, Fortnite, The Division. And even a number of those were disasters at launch. Hell, Red Dead Redemption II has sold over 60 million and yet, Red Dead Online couldn't hold an audience.

@jt887 You mean the fanbase that paid $16 for a Game pass subscription in September to play Starfield, instead of buying the game outright? I've said it many times, Sony could announce Spider-Man for Xbox tomorrow and Xbox fanboys would whine if the game weren't coming to Game Pass. The first vs third party exclusive argument also falls apart because of Spider-Man. Insomniac is a first party developer and yet apparently that is still a problem. If it's such a problem that Insomniac and Spider-Man are first party, why isn't it also a problem that Bethesda and Starfield are first party for Xbox? Personally, I wouldn't care for a second if Final Fantasy VII Remake/Rebirth or Spider-Man go to Xbox or Nintendo. More people get to play the games that I love? Great. I'm sure some Sony fanboys' heads would explode just as Xbox fanboys' heads did when a game almost none of them played, Pentiment, was announced for PS4/5 and Switch.

This isn't much of a news story. Helldivers II has been the biggest game of the month and launched at the beginning of February. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launched on the last day of February (and one one less platform) so not really a fair comparison. Glad both games are doing well.

@DennisReynolds Miles Morales was also a much smaller game than Spider-Man 2. And it's not like Insomniac had some massive data breach that they had to contend with. Shame on them for taking so long to get this FREE update out.

@Keyblade-Dan I mean, you said extremely divisive and when has that not meant toxic? But my point is, the game was not nearly as divisive as others.

@OneWingedAngel Only Xbox fanboys are trying to claim that the game is "underperforming" due to exclusivity. Like they would have bought the game anyway had it released on Xbox. Most likely, they would've complained the game isn't on Game Pass and not played it.
