@Grumblevolcano it’s not such a peaceful coexistence…..most people saw it as taking away from MK console experience and gre frustrated with the attention it got and that the series was largely ignored. New skins, carts, challenges and nothing for MK for years.
@zupertramp u can still get the OG Switch and also at least I get something for the $50. Sony should at least offer wit a free game or three months of PS Plus
I have one already and live in the US, so this doesn’t affect me, but I think I would still get one if I didn’t have one and they jacked up the price on me. Wouldn’t be happy, but would just suck it up and get it.
@PhhhCough it’s geared towards GameStop so they can include in bundles.
Seriously tho, that’s the only reason I have the Xbox Elite. Admittedly it is a very nice and ergonomic controller. I am far too casual to take advantage of all of the features. Besides comfort, I do like the ability to change the tension in the tension for the joysticks and then also the battery life is very impressive. I only need to charge once a month.
The main advantage is if you are really serious, you can configure your settings to suite a shooter and then change profile for other types of games. I don’t find much use for the paddles, changing thumb sticks or the d pad.
All that said, I do like the controller. I just don’t think it’s worth the $179 I had to pay for it. So as it relates to this thread, I think the most I would pay would be $125, ONLY if it has a similar battery life, as this is easily the best feature.
@tinCAT-zero I have to admit that it is a really cool controller. But unless $$$ is not an issue, it’s hard to recommend. The customization is bad ass, but I am such a casual gamer, I won’t use most of it. I like how you can change the tension in the sticks and the battery is very impressive tho. Only way I get the PS version is if I stumble upon one deeply discounted
@Dudeman1 yeah, Nintendo is loving this. If undecided about a console and $$$$ is a factor, damn straight people will take this into consideration. And pretty amazing that it is still selling well with aforementioned outdated hardware.
As for Sony and the increase…. Just glad I got mine…. It would not surprise me if the US goes up after Xmas
I have an Elite2 for the Series X. I had to buy as part of a bundle through GameStop. While it’s really cool, they aren’t worth the lofty price tags. Granted, I do love the battery. I only have to charge mine once a month.
I do not care about trophies, but I liked the spirit of the list- games that are generally approachable…count me as one who loves easy mode/ games that are easy to learn but hard to master…
How much better is GT7 better than GT Sport? I have both, but I am playing GT Sport rn bc I am new to Sony eco system. I wanted to try out the series first before I shelled out $70. After a few hours, I realized that tho I am not very good, I enjoy the style of play a lot, so I went ahead and got GT7 bc it was on sale. Not loading it now bc of space on HD and I want to finish Sport.
There is talk of a Switch Lite with 5G. They are also supposedly investing a lot in online infrastructure and services Maybe they are preparing for cloud play.
@Ralizah a few things of interest regarding Nintendo…1. They recouped a lot of their losses from WiiU titles bc these games were brand new to new Switch owners. 2. Mario Kart became the default game purchase for new Switch owners. 3. How tha pandemic and subsequent chip shortage helped the Switch in general, but really blew up the popularity of Animal Crossing. It will sell more than 40 million before all is said and done.
Oddly enough, it was easier and cheaper for me to get a Ps5 than a Steam Deck. I love handheld consoles, but was able to get Ps5 through Amazon using credit card points. I got my Ps5 for free! I would have probably opted for Steamdeck…..probably will still get one eventually.
@Juanalf they will milk this console for all its worth and then some. Probably 2025 before we see a new one, which is fine with me. As I mentioned, I am hoping that the longer they stretch it out, the better the specs will be.
The Vita still feels somewhat modern. The 3ds feels borderline nostalgic. The Switch feels feels very dated when compared to its current Gen counterparts…I hope that by the time the next iteration of the Switch comes out, they can make it at least as powerful as the Steam Deck and in a more ergonomic form factor.
If I want a game and it’s significantly cheaper at the time I want it physical, I go physical instead of wait for a sale. But with updates and patches, I find myself wondering why I bother at times with physical
@Reyren Switch owner here as well. there’s something to be said of the psychology of scarcity. This happened to me with Amiibo. Started buying some bc they were hard to find in the wild.
I think I pulled the trigger a bit early bc I couldn’t get one easily. Signed up for both Sony and Amazon. Didn’t get through on Sony. Amazon came through. New thing tho….I didn’t have a PS4, so I can play some of those that I missed last generation here.
@IonMagi HFW isn’t exactly a game I wanted, but to g it $20 off in a bundle isn’t the worst thing. Beats having to buy an extra controller and two other games I don’t want, cough, GameStop…cough, cough… u could sell the code or just play it for a few hours to at least get something out of it. Glad I got it.
@Grumblevolcano this generation I have all three systems, but there’s no guarantee I will get them all next generation. My concern is with Nintendo in that while I would be happy with a Nintendo console without much third party support (WiiU was one of my favorite systems)….it will be hard for them to flourish without some support.
@Fight_Teza_Fight NBA 2k18 was not released in retail till a few weeks ago and had massive issues upon release that took a while to fix. FIFA didn't include many of the features that its console counterparts included. Third party publishers have generally been optimistic about the Switch
@NathanUC I disagree with the power aspect. It's more than capable for what I want out of a console. Granted, my expectations are generally lower than many in the gaming community. But I think the sacrifices made are inconsequential to have the ability to play in handheld mode. The games so far look really good.

@get2sammyb I love Mario, but I was thinking the same thing about the playroom if it had more content. Rayman is also a worthy franchise….
Re: Take a Tour of Astro Bot Maker's Tokyo Office
@GreatAuk definitely agree that this needs a full game….make it more challenging, but with adjustable difficulties for people like me.
