Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 521

Still Final fantasy 7. 42 hours in and just started chapter 5. I'm too busy managing my business project so little time for gaming. And yeah, I tend to anchor myself at every minigame I find in the game...

Beside that I will continue to play Reveil with a friend of mine... and with a couple of beer. Not too scary but just in case.

@MFTWrecks They are playing it safe. It worked several times so why change the formula when people buy their games anyway?
They will change their model when sales will drop dramatically. I know it's sad but this is how business work.
I just hope that they get a huge kick in the belly soon so the talented developers there can get a chance to create something new, unique and amazing.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

matekomlosi

I absolutely will but I'm still occupied with Banishers. I also want to try Pacific drive, Rise of the ronin, Alone in the dark and so on but right now I have extreme little time for gaming... But hey, at least I can't complain that I don't have anything to play with for at least half a year...

Re: Reaction: The Problem with PlayStation Right Now

@ZhuckelDror
Yep. They're boring because most open-world games only offer like 2 or 3 types of side quests, and they just recycle them a thousand times over. The worst part is, if you don't grind through a ton of them, your character doesn't progress at all, which totally messes with the later parts of the game... I play games to have fun after work. But this isn't fun; it's just another job. Except this time I'm not getting paid — I pay them.

Re: Reaction: The Problem with PlayStation Right Now

Some folks might have said it before but seriously, it's time to dial back on those Spider-Man-style massive games. Many gamers just blitz through the main storyline without even touching the side quests. Those side missions demand a colossal map, tons of variables and a boatload of graphic assets to look halfway decent. Creating these eats up millions, of course. Honestly, most times, I'd be totally cool with a shorter, snappier game that still packs a punch (check out The Last of Us Part I or Resident Evil 4 for reference). Personally, I'm kinda over those gigantic open-world games. They're just too much to handle sometimes and get boring rather fast.

Re: Skull and Bones (PS5) - Solid Sea-RPG Ships First-Rate Naval Gameplay

The grindy gameplay and lack of narrative are the main characteristics of free-to-play games. It's not that the game is trash, but the price is a joke. I've tried the trial; it can be entertaining for a while, it looks nice and all, but it's definitely not worth more than 20-30 bucks. There simply isn't enough content in it to justify the 70 plus dollar price tag...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 516

@rusty82 I can only recommend it. Jokes aside, it's obviously not The Last of Us/Uncharted level but it's quite entertaining. In my opinion, at least. The actors are good, the environment is well-crafted, the story is interesting, only the combat system is a bit unpolished. It's a classic DontNod game, doesn't aim for too much but delivers it nicely.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Skull and Bones?

It would be nice as a free-to-play game with in-game purchases. I know it's designed to be a multiplayer game but come on... For 70+ bucks I want a story-heavy, single player pirate game with a multiplayer section. It's joke as it is for that price.

Re: Starfield, Indiana Jones Aren't Coming to PS5 Just Yet

@GeminiReign Partly you're right but not entirely. There was a time when I was happy if I could occasionally go out or save up enough to afford a new game. A new console remained just a dream for a long time. I didn't mean to argue, just wanted to shed light on this as well.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 515

I cleared all of my backlog except for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, so I will continue playing it. I hope to finish it during the weekend because I pre-ordered Banishers of New Eden and I definitely want to play that next weekend.

Besides, I will try to forget that Skull and Bones exists.

Re: The Last of Us 3 Probably Happening at Some Point in the Future

matekomlosi

@TheCollector316 yep, but they should put the Ellie line to rest and come up with a new one. Maybe not so popular opinion but I liked the 2. However, it would be wise to concentrate more on the world itself on a third entry. They should not go "all-out drama". A storyline where they trying to find a cure or the source of this plague would be nice in my opinion.
This drama only concept killed the walking dead series to me.

I'm still playing Spider-Man 2 and will continue for at least another week or so (unlike a friend of mine who got the platinum trophy in 22 hours right after its release... )

Besides that I'll be playing some COD MW3 with my friends. I know, I know, I'm supposed to hate COD but I'm still having fun with it.

Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Alan Wake 2

matekomlosi

It doesn't introduce anything new in terms of gameplay mechanics (what new game does, anyway?) but in terms of story, direction and storytelling, it surpasses all previous games I played. It deserves the first place, or seacond at least...

Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Final Fantasy 16

matekomlosi

The story was great but (except the bossfights) the gameplay felt too repetitive after a couple of hours. For me, at least. Also the world was a bit... empty. I didn't feel the eager to explore it.
It was a very great experience beside that so I guess it's about right.
Alan wake, Lies of P, Spider Man, Resident Evil 4. These are my top four.

Re: 19 Amazing Games Join PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week

I've never played the GTA series for some reason but I've been planning it for a while now. The two red dead are one of my favorite games so I guess it's time to give this a chance. I almost bought it a month ago, glad I didn't.

I will also try out the final fantasy game. From what I saw on YouTube walkthroughs I doubt I will put tens of hours in it but who knows... I tried a couple of FF installments over the years but so far I only liked FF7 and the most recent FF16.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 503

I'm testing and debugging the application (android/web) that I've been developing for the past year and a half with the help of my friends, so I won't have much time to play as I aim to publish it in December. But if I do find some time, I'll continue playing "The Invincible". I still haven't started Spider-Man, even though I downloaded it a while ago...
