@Ithinkyousuck My hands were actually shaking when the clerk said she'd hold it for me — my wife was at a store in the same plaza at the time (which is why I tried calling there), and they agreed to hold it because she'd be able to be there in less than 5 minutes. And after the clerk rang it up for her, she slipped it into an ordinary cardboard box and said (and keep in mind that we live in a very low-crime area) "This way you won't have to worry about getting mugged on your way to your car."
Got mine in mid-December by complete fluke — made a random call to a store that had just received 2 of them literally minutes before I called, and the other one was already spoken for.
I've actually had a harder time trying to get my hands on a DualSense Charging Station.
I still have moments where I can't believe that I actually managed to get a PS5. And it was a complete fluke — called a store to see if they had any in stock literally minutes after a couple of them just arrived, and the other one was already spoken for.
The cross-generation share play sounds fantastic! And what a relief that we'll be able to start moving PS5 games not actively being played to the extended storage.
@Stueeeee Sort of. Last time I tried (which was years ago) I found that the game would crash after about 1 or 2 levels. Some PS2 games (SSX 3 comes to mind) are glitchy on the PS3, as well.
My PS3 is alive and well so I've got that covered. And my PS2 kinda comes and goes. But I'd definitely pony up the dough to be able to dust off my PS1 copy of Return Fire.
@Playstation I actually like the Challenge Series events because some of them are different from the standard events (I particularly liked the one that's reminiscent of Crazy Taxi), but I definitely don't want to pay for them. I like when games give you the option of either buying the content or working toward unlocking it. But you make a good point — the game was free.
@Playstation Pretty sure, unless something's changed. And it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something. I've played the entire challenge series for Ultimo (the only one that's free), and it didn't unlock anything. There are two other challenges at this point — one for Lupita ("Leader of the Pack") and one for Genesis ("One Small Step"). The Lupita challenge has a price tag of 400 Destruction Points (I think). Same with the Genesis challenge, and that one has a countdown timer on it that I believe will stop some time next week.
@thefourfoldroot @playstation I played last night and as far as I can tell, the only way you can get those pink Destruction Points (at this time anyway) is by purchasing them.
Launch window or not, I would rather play a complete, polished game that arrives late than a hot mess beta version that releases on time.
But thank goodness for the PS4 backwards compatibility; otherwise with all these game delays the PS5 would quickly turn into a pretty paperweight.
@render I've played the first one (an Ultimo-Jian showdown), and definitely recommend it. Some of the challenges you compete in on your way to your final showdown with Jian are fun and different from the standard modes you normally play — there's one where you have to race around touching checkpoints (some only reachable on foot) before time runs out, and one that is essentially Crazy Taxi.

Re: Farming Simulator 22 Lays Down Roots on PS5, PS4 This Year
I'd like to see how these games would play out if there was a "Rated M for Mature" version.

Re: Song of Horror Brings Back Classic Survival Horror on PS4 Next Month
Is it just me or was the narrator voice in that trailer wayyyyyy over the top?
Re: Disco Elysium: The Final Cut (PS5) - A Hauntingly Brilliant RPG That Lives Long in the Mind
@The_New_Butler Wow. That sucks. It's amazing what passes for customer service these days.
Re: Disco Elysium: The Final Cut (PS5) - A Hauntingly Brilliant RPG That Lives Long in the Mind
@The_New_Butler Can I ask what caused your self-enforced ban from buying digital PlayStation games?
Re: Poll: Do You Use These Two Forgotten PS5 Features?
My only awareness of accolades has been through Destruction AllStars.

Re: Here's Some More Early Gameplay Footage of Hot Wheels Unleashed
I like that the cars show some wear and tear. Nice touch.
Re: Hands On: Knockout City Is One Game You Shouldn't Dodge in 2021
I like the 50s-meets-futuristic aesthetic, but I found this game got kinda boring pretty quickly. My 10-year-old loves it.
Anyone else find the DJ annoying?
Re: Dodgebrawler Knockout City Catches Cross-Play Beta This Weekend
I was underwhelmed. My 10-year-old loved it, though.
Re: Tour de France 2021 Dons the Yellow Jersey on PS5, PS4
@Rubssi Ah. Thanks. I was wondering about that. Very sneaky.

Stunning graphics! It's amazing how realistically they can render people now.
Re: PS Plus April 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
@Alfieburns Well-said. The world is toxic enough as it is.
Re: PS Plus April 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
I'm so tired of zombie games. Looking forward to Oddworld, though.
Re: Pinball FX Is Coming to PS5 in 2021, But You'll Need to Rebuy Your Tables
@ShiningStar Did the Williams tables include Earthshaker?

Re: Poll: What Free PS4 Games Are You Most Excited to Play?
Does anyone know if you can download the VR games if you don't have the PSVR gear but are planning on getting the PS5 VR gear when it comes out?
Re: Fall Guys Season 4 Arrives Today, Adds New Levels, Squads Mode, Daily Challenges, More
@Pikki You are definitely not alone!
Re: Mini Review: Overcooked: All You Can Eat - Remastered Culinary Co-Op Is Still a Tasty Treat
Can anyone tell me if it's worth the cost for this version? Overcooked 1 & 2 are really cheap in the PS Store at the moment.
Re: PS Plus March 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
The FF series has never held any interest for me, but I'm sure it'll make a lot of people happy. The rest of the games sound good.
Re: Talking Point: What Free March 2021 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
I know it's improbable, but nothing would make me happier than Ghost of Tsushima coming to PS Plus.
