What kind of multiplayer game would Destruction AllStars be if it didn't have a double XP event? Well, we suppose it would be a multiplayer game with no double XP events, which is fine. But that's not the case.
Announced on social media last night, Lucid Games is granting players double the amount of experience points, starting today, and carrying on through the weekend.
Double XP means you'll be leveling up pretty fast, and with each level comes an AllStar Coins reward. If you stick with the vehicular multiplayer mayhem between now and Sunday, you'll be rolling in it, and can grab yourself a bunch of customisation goodies.
The game recently received an update that fixed a load of common bugs and crashes, so it might be worth dipping back in. Will you be playing Destruction AllStars this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

Unless I am missing something this game seemed very random to me, so deleted it within a day
Didn’t find it much fun, even with friends
I really hope this game will be successful. More maps and campaigns are needed.
Cool, I guess I'll drive around a crash a bit
I don't mind jumping into this every now and then. Hopefully I can remember this is going on.
i played rocket league yesterday after months..it's still fun as hell with friends and the HDR looks amazing with an oled tv.. how does destruction all stars compare?
Any news on when they are adding the currency that lets you buy some story dlc to the rewards. Not playing it until they do.

I thought the crashes worked just fine, what was wrong with them?
He. Hehe. Hhhheeeee. 🥁
@Playstation
Interesting. I’ll take a look.
@thefourfoldroot @playstation I played last night and as far as I can tell, the only way you can get those pink Destruction Points (at this time anyway) is by purchasing them.

@hobbes242
Thought so, but heard to the contrary by some. I’ll have a check at weekend.
@Playstation Pretty sure, unless something's changed. And it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something. I've played the entire challenge series for Ultimo (the only one that's free), and it didn't unlock anything. There are two other challenges at this point — one for Lupita ("Leader of the Pack") and one for Genesis ("One Small Step"). The Lupita challenge has a price tag of 400 Destruction Points (I think). Same with the Genesis challenge, and that one has a countdown timer on it that I believe will stop some time next week.
@Playstation I actually like the Challenge Series events because some of them are different from the standard events (I particularly liked the one that's reminiscent of Crazy Taxi), but I definitely don't want to pay for them. I like when games give you the option of either buying the content or working toward unlocking it. But you make a good point — the game was free.
Double XP weekends this early may not be a great sign
I was playing it pretty frequently on release week. By day 5 I wasn't consistently getting full matches anymore. I was like, surely, it's not dead already? Maybe just my internet or the server, hopefully.
My wife and I are obsessed with gridfall!!! Wish there was a duo's version of it though
