Fall Guys Season 4 officially starts today. The latest update to the ongoing battle royale platformer is a big one, adding a truckload of new levels and features. Game version 1.18 is available to download now on PlayStation 4, and the patch notes are pretty impressive.
Once you've downloaded the patch — which is just over 3GB — the game will be ready for the kick-off of Season 4. It introduces seven new futuristic-themed rounds, with new hazards and gameplay mechanics to discover. But new levels is far from the only change. Squads Mode is a brand new way to play — it lets you team up with three others and enter together. The difference in Squads is that, if one of you wins, everyone in the squad wins. Hopefully that'll make that darn Infallible Trophy a little easier to obtain.
A new currency has also been introduced — Crown Shards. Earning 60 of these will gain you one crown. It means that you don't have to rely on wins or the season rewards to get crowns, you can just save up shards instead. You can earn shards by playing Squads Mode or completing Daily Challenges — and yes, that's another new feature in this update.
In addition to all the above, lots of gameplay tweaks and fixes have been made to further optimise the game. Here's a real blessing: you'll no longer have to wait around to quit after you're eliminated. You can finally quit out at any time. There are loads of other improvements listed in the full patch notes, so check them out if you're interested.
Anyway, this is a massive update to the game — will you be checking it out? Are you still playing Fall Guys? Looking forward to making a start in Season 4? Tell us in the comments section below.

Might give it another go at some point haven't played since first couple of weeks, so the new levels will be a nice addition and make it feel fresh hopefully, did enjoy it but got bored of not much levels at launch.
@Quintumply Thanks! I'll hop in again to see if the darn Infallible Trophy is attainable now for sure
The new update looks really cool, definitely going to give it a go. I'm useless at the game so the whole crown shards thing sounds good too!
Squads sounds interesting so might give it a go, so if on squads mode one of you pass round 1 then you all pass? Or is it just if my squad mate wins the whole thing then it counts for me aswell? So if I get k icked out in round 1 I then have to watch my team mate in the other rounds to see if he wins
oooooooooooooofff
It's surprising how quick this game died out.
@UltimateOtaku91 I believe your team earns points for how well each team mate does individually and it knocks out x amount of teams who have scored the lowest at the end of the round
@Pikki You are definitely not alone!
