Whoever made this PlayStation 5 commercial deserves double pay – the editing and animation is awesome. There are no games here, it’s a hardware spotlight which focuses on the format’s main features. Obviously, we’re all quite familiar with raytracing and 60 frames-per-second by now, but for the average consumer this really captures what makes Sony’s new console such a great upgrade.
We particularly like the segments on 3D audio and the adaptive triggers – it’s really hard to convey what those features mean without experiencing them first hand, but honestly we reckon this ad does an amazing job. Obviously, with PS5 stock so limited, the biggest problem is actually finding a system to buy – but we daresay this will sell a few more potential purchasers on the platform.

Wow
This is amazing ! bit long for a add tho
Had one since launch day......what's the issue?
You know that smug feeling you get when you've got one....
@hypnotoad I got an invitation from Sony to buy one direct.
Aren't I lucky?
@Constable_What I'm only kidding witcha.
I realise I'm very lucky to have got one at launch.
Therefore, I am better than all of you that didn't !
@The_New_Butler Well it's already got 200k views and 24k likes, so it's resonating with someone at least!
It was only published an hour ago...
very casual friendly
@hypnotoad well I only started one month ago for the search
Got me a series S whilst waiting for the ps5 to be in stock so I can wait a little longer....😔 😭
@LiterallyDoNotCare Well that's roughly 5 months later than you should have mate !
PS5 stock in the UK seems to be the worst it has been for a long time. With potentially no stock until end of May, rumours.
At least Switch and some series s and a few series x are getting through to the UK to give gamers some joy and happiness.
I did not think this at first but recently it seems Sony have dropped the ball at the moment on stock.
I used to literally love Sony and their products back in the day especially TVs, but they are not that special TV wise now and are a dam nightmare with half baked HDMI 2:1 ports, VRR, Etc. And as for TV updates, that never arrive.
@hypnotoad OK so you're luckier than me...
lol
@Constable_What I'm married with kids.
I'm not.
I purchased one at launch and then another one a few weeks ago for a friend. I continue to try and get them for friends who are looking.
@getsammyb that is one slick video I completely agree I have one but was thinking I’d like another
Very slick ad! Hope everyone is able to get one of these beauties soon!
I’m 4 months in and loving mine. Can’t wait for the ESO PS5 update! But so many of my friends and family have been able to get one so they’re definitely easier to find now. Good luck.
It's true because after watching this video I want to buy another PS5
I don't get why they made the video? We already know about the PS5.
@Snake_V5 Well, there's 19 posts on this thread so far. Roughly 7.9 billion left to see it I guess? I dunno... Maybe this is for the people who don't know what we know?
It's a fantastic console that's a joy to power up.
Especially if you've got a 4K telly.
Great ad! Kudos for Sony on PS5 tech, DualSense is a particular highlight.
I only wish that more games actually used PS5's cool features...
@RenanKJ That’s absolutely my feelings too. So much potential but the games really haven’t made use of it so far other than Astro.
@nessisonett Give it time.
@nessisonett stop playing bugsnax and you'll see the god damn difference. for ***** sake
@hypnotoad I did an evil laugh when I got one.
@LiterallyDoNotCare I actually haven’t played Bugsnax yet. I really need to get round to that.
@nessisonett I'm with you tho. Played Demon Souls, plays great. Some things look next-gen, but it doesn't wow.
Bugsnax can f itself
I'm sad I can't get a ps5 but I'm happy I got my switch and loving every min of it......saving my ps4 backlog for ps5 lol.
@nessisonett Maybe Returnal will be that game.
I still have moments where I can't believe that I actually managed to get a PS5. And it was a complete fluke — called a store to see if they had any in stock literally minutes after a couple of them just arrived, and the other one was already spoken for.
@hobbes242 I had so much stress inside when I found one.
Hey Liam, look. I'm heavy weapons expert guy
That ad was impressive however I'm still waiting for a Black Version, I also don't care for the fact you need headphones indoer to achieve 3D sound. I must prefer to fill my whole room with Dolby Atmos sound unfortunately the PS5 can't produce Dobly Atmos which is most disappointing after such a long wait for it to finally come to market. I'm also disappointed that it only does HDR and not Dolby Vision. I expected far more from Sony since the Xbox can produce both Dolby Atmoe & Dolby Vision.,
This is awesome.
When I see this 1080p vs 4k comparison that's about my old TV vs the new one. I can't go back.
All smooth and fast on a huge screen.
@SurvivorGirl1 It's all about the games really.
Nnnnyyaarg... Must... Resist... Can't... Urge.. to... Police... Grammar... Too... Strong...
... the editing and animation ARE awesome.
I'm seeing this more and more in commentary, but can't ignore it in an article. Sorry! Don't hate me! I love PushSquare! 😂
@hypnotoad Hope Returnal does so good, @nessisonett calls it goty of 2021.
Ratchet will probably be better than the reboot one.
Couldn't get a PS5 but I did get a Series S. The very fast load times, instant resume and 60fps boost on back compatible games make for a much better experience so i'm looking forward to playing PS5 games with those features when I eventually get one.
@Dezzy70 I blame Brexit. Fudge it, why not?!
I think what's impressed me very much is the Dualsense.
And Astro.
My biggest concern about this gen is starting to come true:
The stock shortage is just going to prolong cross-gen games for a lot longer. This really sucks for those of us who want true current generation games that actually make use of the new hardware and now we'll probably be waiting at least 2 more years until devs transition fully to only making current gen games.
It almost feels dirty saying I have a ps5 out loud. Most of the discussion is about finding one. I’ll look forward to supply meeting demand so we can focus on how great the system is. And talk about the games and culture.
I'm waiting until either Final Fantasy 16 or Street Fighter 6 comes out before I try to get one. Not saying it doesn't have enough games to play just none that have really pushed me over the fence to buying one yet.
Plus with how difficult it is to get one it seems like I'm just saving myself a lot of stress not being glued to the internet looking for one!
@PossibLeigh
I guess there is lots to blame but not brexit.
As other electrical goods etc are ok ish and also other consoles to a degree.
It’s just a product in high demand at the wrong time due to Covid mainly.
But as other consoles are getting through, we all do know what Sony can be like, as I mentioned with their TV arrogance of decades which has put them third behind Samsung and LG worldwide.
False advertising! I've had my PS5 since launch and my Dual Sense has never once turned my zen garden blue or shot energy beams from the triggers!
@Dezzy70 Yeah, it was a joke. I don't really blame Brexit. I just like to blame it for everything in a self-mockingly liberal elite kinda way.
You got to love how Sony makes gaming look grown up. Nicely done.
Good luck to eveyone still looking for one
This is a really great ad. Really conveys the all the audio and touch sense features in a very slick visual way. Well done Sony!
A commercial for a game console, with zero games shown. Lol.
Top notch motion design. I’d love to figure out the studio who did it. Will report back if I do
@get2sammyb It’s actually very well done. I think it might be targeted toward the hardcore PlayStation crowd to galvanise them and give them more confidence to feel they can contribute to playstations success by word of mouth and all out ballsyness 🤣
@EVIL-C Not just a commercial. Actually a very good one.
Smooth sailing until the Move Controllers at the end.
@Goodguyjusty Can I be your friend, please?! 😂
I’ve been trying to track down a PS5 since December. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite afford one when Sony revealed the new console and opened pre-orders, but was over the moon when I eventually managed to place an order through a website called Tech Inn just before Christmas. I gladly stumped up the cash and was given a late March delivery date. A week before my order was due to arrive, I received an email saying that it had been put back a month to the last week of April, and just a fortnight ago, it was delayed yet again, this time to late June/early July. Completely fed up, I cancelled my order, got a refund, and invested £200 in a pre-owned PS4 Pro that had been well looked after. You see, I sold my PS4 Slim (funnily enough, also for £200) to help raise the funds for the Tech Inn order, but four months with no Playstation and 'only' a Nintendo Switch was starting to drive me insane.
I’m more than happy with the Pro until I eventually manage to find a PS5 – whenever that will be – but, like many others in the same position, try as I might, I’m having absolutely no luck whatsoever 😢
Excellent Ad!
My only critique is the part when the words "Backwards compatibility" appear followed a few seconds later by "Play 4000+ PS4 games on PS5". Would have been preferable if that first caption read "PS4 Backwards Compatibility" since that is the full extent of the support.
That's pretty slick.
The Apple is strong with this one...
That's a pretty cool ads 😃
@Ithinkyousuck My hands were actually shaking when the clerk said she'd hold it for me — my wife was at a store in the same plaza at the time (which is why I tried calling there), and they agreed to hold it because she'd be able to be there in less than 5 minutes. And after the clerk rang it up for her, she slipped it into an ordinary cardboard box and said (and keep in mind that we live in a very low-crime area) "This way you won't have to worry about getting mugged on your way to your car."
@hobbes242 I was in disbelief. The cashier was talking to me but I was on a limbo. Too stressful man.
Great ad, Scaplers will be rubbing thier hands with joy
Fortunately I am also with the lucky few to get 1 on release day
@get2sammyb Sony's been uploading the individual parts separately since the release of the trailer at a speed of 1 per day. So far they've released 4 mini trailers:
Do you think perhaps Sony is leading up to a big announcement at the end of it?
