Re: Poll: Are You Happy with PS4 Firmware Update 3.50?

gr8apeb8

Nice update, but I'm holding my breath for external hardrive support. I am needing it bad, game updates are chewing up my space, and PS Plus is often a coin toss of what I need to delete. I've looked at getting one of the current options, bit don't want to run the risk of bricking my beloved PS4

Re: Review: Kick & Fennick (PlayStation Vita)

The price was right. I have decided that instead of moaning about the lackluster PS+ titles, I will now give each one a minimum of two hours playtime. Unfortunately Rogue Legacy has now consumed my Vita, this one will be on backlog duty.

Re: Talking Point: Do Review Scores Have a Future?

gr8apeb8

I find that once I find a reviewer who's likes and interests are somewhat parallel to mine, that persons reviews are used as a guide. Inevitably it is me who decides where my money goes, but I do take fellow gamers advice to heart. In the past I have bulled ahead and bought a game with no thought, the result was a copy of spec ops for ps1. Since then I will take the time to at least get a feel for what the preliminary scores are. So please keep up the good work guys, I personally feel review scores do have a place in this industry as long as they don't replace a consumers own thoughts.

Re: Can You Relate to Any of These PlayStation Memories?

gr8apeb8

I had Diablo 1 and had my character to level 24 with great gear. I was mucking around with memory card options in another game and clicked the Format option, not knowing what it did. Good bye Diablo, good bye over 180 hours of FFVII and FFVIII. Oh well nearly 15 years later and I am still weary to click format for anything.

Re: Review: Resident Evil (PlayStation 4)

gr8apeb8

@LDXD thank you. It was one of my first ps1 purchases. I was ecstatic when I went to my mom's house to go through some of my old stuff and found my original copy. But the hi res graphics are very tempting for a re-buy

Re: Don't Grenade Yourself to Progress in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

gr8apeb8

I am a bullet bag when playing that game. Not to start a fan boy war, but I will stick with battlefield. I'm just terrible at COD, I enjoy it, and I feel it is a good game. But I feel bad for the poor sods who get put on my team and I finish with a 12 and 24 KD. There isn't a skill level low enough for me to join. Even the christmas noobs often make me feel like a no thumbed dimwit.
Cheers to those of you who like it, it's just not my thing.

Re: Meet the Man Who Stole Christmas for PS4 Fans

Hey why don't they grow a pair and go after real bad guys. Take down some ISIS sites. Or use the talents to help find missing children. The pseudo righteous crap they are spewing is getting a bit old. They pick targets and then make it seem like they are some sort of saviors. He doesn't feel guilty about taking gaming away on Christmas because we should have better things to do? Says the guy cloistered in a room over Christmas fake hacking. Pfft

Re: Soapbox: Poor Communication Continues to Be PSN's Biggest Problem

gr8apeb8

@get2sammyb first off thank you for taking time during this time of year to report on something as frustrating as this. Also I concur Sony must greatly improve on the PR response during these outages. An Email, official response, even a basic apology with a few details. As paying customers for a service we deserve some explanation on why a product we pay for is unavailable. 3 days for a subscription based service adds up, especially when so many games are reliant on that online service to be playable. Happy holidays everyone. See you in the new year.

Re: Sony Engineers Investigating as PS4 Goes Offline Again

gr8apeb8

Destiny has now become my drink coaster while I wait for dragon age to connect to the servers. Lol for some reason the outage is making DA take forever to connect. Oh well Sony is probably going to have a few tense decisions to make on the direction of the online services. Have a good one everyone

Re: Actually, PS4 Had the Most Great Games This Year

gr8apeb8

A christmas flogging you say, disagreement about video game scores you say. Seems like a routine game industry christmas. I am happy with the ps4. It was a long term investment, much like a christmas turkey. The good stuffs coming, everything so far has been delightful butter tarts, tasty but not filling enough.
On a side note, is anybody else excited for Christmas noobs in COD. Its the one time a year I feel like a hotshot playing that game. LOL

Re: Feature: What Are November 2014's Free PlayStation Plus Games?

gr8apeb8

I'm not an indie basher. But I also don't enjoy them much. But after Don't Starve, and Pix the Cat hooked me like an addict, I now make a point of downloading every one and giving it a good half hour. The Hungry Horde will be the first serving I download from the digital buffet this month. Thanks pushsquare for the article each month breaking down the selection. Good evening!

Re: Sony: We're Working to Resolve PS4 Rest Mode Freezing Issues

gr8apeb8

My gaming budget is very tight. I worked a pile of OT so I could purchase this system. Now after it sneakily downloaded the update on its own I have left it powered off for the last three days. I don't have the disposable income to risk a bricking. So dusted off the old ps1 and will now enjoy some FF 8 and Diablo 1. Hoping Sony gets it under control. They seem to be spinning their tires the last month or so.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 42

gr8apeb8

Once again it is AC IV. I'm usually pretty focused when I play games. But every time I boot this one up I get horribly sidetracked and end up on some island looking for some damned chest for 100 R. Then I check the time and realize I haven't finished one mission. But I am enjoying it
