Tried it out awhile back, borrowed from a friend. It's fantastic but there's nothing I want to play on it so it's not worth the money.

Hi Fi Rush is epic. Hope you all enjoy it anyone that hasn't got to play it yet.

Hi Fi Rush is a banger of a game. One of the best I've played in the last few years.

Having great fun with it. Bouncing between completing all the character stories and having a few fights online. Winning more fights online than I thought I might but I'm by no means a pro. I'll be playing this game for a long time to come.

Thankfully I have both systems so don't need to choose. But for people not on Xbox I would highly recommend the Gears franchise and Hi Fi Rush. Halo Infinite multiplayer is great fun right now too. So many modes and maps to dive into.

Not off to a good start.

I own all 3 platforms, but my Playstation and Xbox are digital only consoles. I will buy some Nintendo games physical but that's it. For the most part I'm probably gone about 90% digital.

Everywhere is ad space now. These are pretty cool though.

Roll on Friday. This might just be the first game that gets me to pay for online sub with Playstation.

It's friggin huge. That's why we haven't seen this type of thing before. I buy a portable device so I can play it on the go or on the couch easily in my hands. This thing is a tank. Impressive what he achieved though.

@ZhuckelDror You can't directly compare scores to games. They have literally 10 numbers to work with in their review system. You're going to have games from different genres and with different scopes getting the same numbers at some point.
Spiderman was an 8 out of 10 to the reviewer and that score made sense for it. This game also gets an 8 and the reviewer has stated why. I don't see an issue here.

One for the price-drop alerts. Glad it's looking good, might get to it if it drops enough in price by end of year or early next year.

Nice list. I plan to play some of these over the next few years. The backlog is real. Only one I'll probably get to this year is BG3 to see what all the fuss is about. Not usually my type of game but I watched a friend play a bit and I think it's worth a try.

Only played the other Spiderman games in the last 12 months so I might leave a bit more time before playing a 3rd so soon. Found MM to be very samey-samey.

I look forward to playing it in about 3 years time. Plenty to keep me occupied til then.

Would love to pick up BG3 but genuinely don't know when I'd have the time to play it. Have 2 big-ish games lined up to play over the Christmas break as it is. Would like to finish those before starting in to something as hefty as BG3. I think it will be a 2024 game for me at this stage.

I'd love to play it but horror/scary games just aren't my thing.

@Ainu20 Same. This year I got to play a few on other platforms but none on Playstation. Plan on tackling Baldurs Gate 3 in the new year sometime but that's too late for any GOTY chats sadly.

Day one purchase. I've never subscribed to PS Online but I might have to for this game alone.

Only interested in Tekken 8 to be honest. I've enough of a backlog to keep me going other than that.
Highly recommend Planet of Lana though for anyone who enjoyed Inside or Limbo.

You can't win. People love to complain. It was a great show. Any longer would have been too long. Let people talk for ages and people will complain the show is too long. Can't win.

I only got my PS5 a year ago and hadn't owned a Playstation since the OG back in the 90's. So the last 12 months has been me catching up on some Playstation classics:
Spiderman 1 + Miles Morales,
Uncharted Series,
God of War 2018,
Ratchet & Clank 2016.
It's been a good year.

Any new release exclusives I played this year were on Xbox and Switch. I plan to get to Baldurs Gate 3 early next year though. Could be a great game for playing on my Portal on the couch.

I've waited up other years (live in Ireland) but I'm not sure I will this year. Will just grab the headlines the next morning.

Ratchet & Clank 2016. About 75% through it. Enjoying it. Hoping to finish it this weekend. Not amazing but just good fun. Playing almost completely on Portal.

@ChrisDeku I own all 3 platforms, love them all. But headlines like this just stir up console war crap in my opinion.

I absolutely love this device. Up until now I would often opt for the Switch version of games because of the portability, but the Portal works so well for me I think I'll be getting the PS version of games anymore.

Zelda gets my vote personally but whichever one of those 2 games win will be fully deserving. I don't think the other nominees realistically have a chance.

Roll on release day. My big dilemma now is do I buy it on Xbox where I can play online or on Playstation where I'll be able to play more often on Portal but only offline modes (I'm not paying for another subscription service).

Dam, would like to have trialed BG3 before buying. A demo for everyone would have been nice.

Zelda for me. But haven't played BG3 yet. Now I've got my Portal I might actually have the free time to dedicate to it

@NinjaSixx some people had the choice of buy Digital PS5 or don't buy it at all. These things were extremely scarce for the first year and a half and scalpers were charging crazy money for either version.
In the end I'm glad I went digital. I game share with a friend so we split the cost of most games. And I also now own the Portal so when I'm playing that away from the house I don't need to worry about switching disks. All my games are digital so they're ready to go.

It works like a dream for me. Yesterday I used it on lunch break at the office and then in the evening while my wife watched TV on the couch. I love this thing.

I just fired mine up at work, 30 minute drive from home. Started playing Spiderman and it runs like a dream. So glad I got this device. My boss is now also thinking of getting one, haha!

Mine just arrived. Lovely piece of kit.

@trev666 Digital Foundry aren't going to be able to tell you how well it will work in your home or anywhere else you plan to play this. Try out Remote Play now for yourself on your phone and see if it's any good.

Mine doesn't arrive til next week but really looking forward to getting this. Gonna be a good christmas of gaming.

@Freddy_Vegas It's game of the YEAR. So why shouldn't it be eligable? And there is a cut off already. Any game that release from now on get pushed to next years awards.

Tears of the Kingdom will get my nod for GOTY. Hi FI Rush will get my vote in any category it's nominated in.
Haven't played Spiderman 2 or BG3 yet and likely won't this year so can't judge. But given I've played Spiderman 1 and the sequal seems to be more of the same, I probably wouldn't have given it my number 1 spot.
And BG3 isn't usually my type of game. Do intend to try it at some point though.

Never played any of them but given it's on Gamepass I'll give it a try.

Seems like if you don't own a Switch you can probably add a review point or 2. Being derivative of Smash wouldn't bother me if I didnt have access to Smash. Also, Smash Ultimate campaign is fairly repetitive too. They mix it up a bit each fight but not much.

Gonna try it out on Gamepass. Looks like a decent game.

If it's better do they give it a 10? What if Spiderman 3 is better again, is that an 11 out of 10?
It can be a better game technically but if it's also more of the same then that should go against it in my view.

@MrGawain I only played the first 2 games this year. Think I'll wait a few years for this one so it feels new again for me.
