I was torn between RDR2 and Horizon. I went for RDR2 in the end. There are, however, several titles I'm really looking forward to this year. It's gona be another year of so many excellent games, so little time to play them. I'm gona do my best though. Proud to be a part of the Sony family and have such a diverse and large selection of games and quality hardware available. It's a great time to be a gamer
I reckon the switch might trigger a resurgence in vita sales as that's a portable system that can be hooked up to ps tv and also plays console games via remote play. Of course it's not going to compete with the switch, but those with low funds might choose a cheaper option in the vita.
I'd hoped for a remaster similar to the uncharted collection as I missed the first three on the PS3, and I no longer own one to buy and play the games. Unless a remaster comes out, which I've heard doesn't sound like one is, then I'll have to wait for reviews to come out. If I need to know and understand what's come before ME:A then the game won't be for me.
For me it was RotTR (3rd), Watch dogs 2 (2nd) and U4 (1st). Would have liked to have seen more PSVR games in the list. There were sooooo many great games released in 2016 though that not evey game could be added. It's a true sign that Sony are still knocking it out of the park year after year. 2017 also looks set to be another blockbuster year. I might as well buy shares in Sony, maybe I'll get some returns from all the money I'm spending lol.
It's watch dogs 2 for me. Trying to finish the campaign off before moving on to either TLG, rise of the tomb raider, I've even still got U4 unplayed. I had all these plans once I got myself the pro. Trying to get through those games is not such an easy feat
Does the VR option come with it or is it future DLC like star wars battlefront? I've been on the fence about this game for some time. Posts such as this make me lean further towards just skipping the game entirely or waiting until mid 2017 as others have said. You'd think 10yrs would be ample enough time to sort out character development. Surely that's the first thing you do lol.
@get2sammyb After the way the last of us began, no one character is safe, Joel included. Could this new story of revenge stem from Ellie being lied to about what happened in the operating room where Joel took her and killed that head of the fireflies in the process. In the ending I chose (only played it once, my bad lol) Joel lied to Ellie. He's going to do all he can to protect her after all. Maybe she finds out, maybe she doesn't, maybe......I'm out lol, it really could be anything. Let's just wait, play the game, learn for ourselves lol
@BAMozzy I too have a disability, mine too affects my mobility. I had a spinal injury and below knee amputation. So to be taken away from reality for that brief moment does so much for me. I'm lucky enough to be a dad, a full time single dad too, but once they are in bed my "social life" revolves around gaming. I do use the word "cripple" though, I thought it was like the "N" word and that only us disabled could say it lol
@get2sammyb I watched this panel live and really learned a lot about different aspects of how gaming as a community is working towards accessibility for all, not just the few. It was a really educating and, I thought, enjoyable segment. Thanks for posting this on your site, it's good to see a site as yours acknowledging this subject. Thank you Sammy, and thanks to the team. This is just one of many reasons you're my go to Sites for all things PlayStation
I wonder if hyper void will include the VR option. It's the only one for me though and even that game is purely because of the PSVR. I wouldn't download any otherwise. But I suppose one man's dislike is another man's like
I love me some good 'ol horror but this, in VR, ummmmmm lol. I have pre-ordered it and can't wait to play it. Horror and VR just fit, like a gloved finger from a proctologyst. Yes, it "fits", but it doesn't stop it from scaring a bloke hahaha
@themcnoisy Whenever I have bought from the game collection my copy has always arrived early. I hope you aren't kept waiting too long my friend, I'm curious to hear yoyr impressions.
@themcnoisy One of my most enjoyable things to do when playing the witcher 3 (and to some extent fallout 4) was traverse the world. I honestly found the journey between quests/missions to be one of the best part's of the game(s). So, it's not going to ruin the game for me, it's just the lack of interactivity that concerned me.
@finalstan @Miles_Edgeworth I meant there was little to do other than accelerate and listen to the banter.
I probably will get this game at some point as I'm not saying these "issues" are game breaking for me. I'm just saying that right now, it's not on my radar enough to purchase day 1
@kyleforrester87 what I meant by offroad was drive where you want, not restricted to on-rails. I watched the clueless gamer episode with conan o'brian and he was told that the huge creature in the game took 72 real-time hours
I was put off this game after finding out it takes 72 real-time hours to defeat one creature (3 frickin days). And although you can "drive" the car, you're restricted to acceleration and braking. So no off-roading. Also, you can't skip the journey, so you're stuck, bored until you reach your destination. Now don't get me wrong, I know that's not the only means of transport, but it's the main one. And yes, I know eventually the car flies, but that's too little too late for me. I'm sure these are minor niggles to others who are fans of the franchise though, especially after waiting 10yrs to play it. So, enjoy folks, but I'll be giving it a pass until it's at a considerably reduced price.
When I clicked on the £749 Sony 55" and the £599 LG it took me to amazon.com instead of Amazon.co.uk? I really wish I had the excess cash to take advantage of the HDR tv's. I'm all spent out after PSVR and the Pro. I'll try to get one in the January sales.
@themcnoisy @tatsumi Thanks both. I've grown to love RPG's in my adult life (38 now lol) and from what I've seen from the FFXV videos, the combat has improved so much. Also, one of my earlier gaming memories involves me getting very frustrated with my game gear as I couldn't walk two or three steps on my FF game without it starting yet another fight lol. Now, however, the game looks very good and right up my street. I'll check out Kingsglaive to bring me up to do date. Thanks again
@get2sammyb As someone who hasn't played ANY final fantasy game since owning my Sega Game Gear (lol), would I be able to play this game without knowing any of the stories from the previous games. The more I see the gameplay the more this falls into my category of games. I always hated the turn based games and having to read the dialogue. I wasn't a patient adolescent and would just skip it (my bad). But this game reminds me more of a strategic hack n slash open world game. I may be wrong of course, any info you can provide though as to game type, pick up and playability for new to the franchise players and your own general opinions on what you've seen so far.
@shogunrok I still wouldn't mind a re-remaster of ICO and SotC. Maybe even a re-re-remaster for the PS4 Pro lol. I didn't get the chance to play it on the PS2 or the PS3 and I feel that I need to play those before starting the last guardian. I don't own my PS3 anymore though. I honestly doubt that a remaster is happening as we'd have heard about it by now. The mass effect trilogy is another remaster I'd love but isn't happening.
@dryrain Yeah, a lot of people are down on Game as a store, me too to a point. But for trade ins and convenience, there's no better place for me. As you said, you can use the in-store credit towards your PSN. It's a no brainer really. I have a good rapport with the staff at my local Game so I've not had many "bad" experiences.
@themcnoisy I took part in this promotion but found out it's not as good a deal as it sounds. Your vanilla PS4 has to be in it's original box to be classed as grade A. And the 5 games get traded in towards the final price to pay. I went in to CEX and bought 5 of their cheapest games, spending £26 total. After convincing Game to accept my PS4 without it's box as it was in immaculate condition considering it was 3yrs old, I ended up having to pay £260 for the Pro with Dishonoured 2. Still a good deal but not what they originally offered. Original PS4, 5 PS4 games not including fifa 14 and fifa 15, get the Pro for £175. The actual deal, boxed PS4, 5 PS4 games trade in price to be taken from total price, final balance left to be paid. A tip for people trading in at Game, make sure you ask for the CEX price match.
@ShogunRok What I'm struggling with is calibrating my picture settings to get the best visuals possible. I've got a "Game" setting but my god does it make it bright. I am trying to play Dishonoured 2 and the only visual setting available is brightness. I've scoured forum after forum with countless people posting countless settings. I'm gona go lie down in a dark room lol
@get2sammyb Am I right in thinking that the Pro has 5ghz capabilities for the Internet? The only reason I ask is because I have it connected via lan and was expecting speeds to be around the 200mbps like my smartphone. My question is, will my wired option automatically connect to the 2ghz channel meaning, in theory, a wireless connection to the 5ghz via WiFi will be a faster connection speed?
@get2sammyb Any idea why the US get this game for such a greatly reduced price compared to the UK and EU? I really, really want this game but that price, ouch.
Ok, I love beautiful graphics. The witcher 3 is by far the most beautiful game I've ever played. I also played far harbour when it came out and made a promise to myself to try to avoid severe FPS drops in games by purchasing the pro. Problem is, the middle option (or 'balanced' as someone said) sounds like I'm having to settle for the option where I don't get the full experience from the game. Instead I always have to substitute one for another. I just want to know that when I play games via the pro on my 4K TV that I get the best quality that my TV can handle. If I choose FPS, how much graphical quality etc am I losing and vice versa
@get2sammyb Aren't the UK prices usually numerically lower than the US? I only ask as my game of choice, Robinson: the journey, is showing as £55 on the UK PSN, whereas on the US Amazon it's just over $30¿?¿? I really, really want that game and have done since its reveal. But the devs say the initial play through lasts around 5hrs. That's the equivalent of over £10 per hour. I really hope the price comes down for us Brits too.
@Mahe Since when has a game's popularity been based on 1-9 = bad and 10 = good. I thought that anything from a 6/7 is a good game 8/9 is a great game and 10 is an amazing game. Just because games have been rated 7 or above doesn't mean it's a bad game, just that it's not as good as 10. Do you only play 10 rated games by any chance?
@get2sammyb As I said on a previous post, the worst thing for me and the kids is seeing all those cool roller-coasters and not being able to ride any. My 6yr old daughter likes the game and managed to beat Sammy's score on the pancake catching game (lol). But for me, the interest died after playing each game a few times. Ah well, at least it wasn't AAA prices.
@get2sammyb Me and the kids were disappointed to see all of those cool roller-coasters and not be able to go on one. Why put them there in the first place? We're enjoying the games, had a few tracking issues where the screen goes black at the most inopportuned moment saying the headset is out of range grrrrr lol. It's been nice trying to beat your scores though Sammy lol
@get2sammyb I already own Rapture, which I never got around to completing. As for the others, there's nothing that's to my taste. Little disappointed a PSVR title wasn't available. Even something like bound which is playable in 2D too. Ahh well, maybe next time lol.
@madrox1030 You come across like you have some sort of grudge against @get2sammyb My experience with push square has always been a positive one. From their news to their reviews, from their videos to their community interaction. Each member of staff is friendly, helpful, respectful of others views and tastes and open these forums to us to talk openly and debate whatever topic is in the news. For you to pick out Sammy as some clickbait junky is immature and unnecessary. I come to these forums to discuss whatever topic is bought up with similarly minded folk who share a love for gaming. Sorry for rambling on, it just annoyed me that you'd single out someone in the way you did with no actual justification. Rant over.
PSVR is the big subject for me. What, if any, are the improvements to my new piece of kit. I know it's not going to improve the graphics of games currently released, but what does it improve. I'm guessing a more stable system ie frame rate. But outside of that I just don't know.
As someone who never got to play ico or SotC, I literally am going into this game blind. I'd hoped for a 2nd remaster for the PS4 as I don't own my PS3 anymore. Regardless of whether I get to play the other two or not though, tlg definitely has my attention and I look forward to its release.
@RevyTwoHand Apparently you do need a 2nd person playing with a 2nd DS4. They then use the touchpad to move the platform. The robot they control flies and has shooting capabilities. See if you can either try it or check it out on YouTube.
@MadAussieBloke I've held off letting her watch Allumette as I'd heard it was emotional, a tear jerker. Didn't want her to end up crying bless her lol. Do you mind me asking how old your daughter is. I only ask as I'm curious if you adhered to the 12+ age rating. My daughter is 6 but I'm with her whenever she plays it and make sure she has regular breaks. I don't let my 4yr old son use it though, much to his annoyance lol
@MadAussieBloke My daughter loved invasion too. The look on her face when I told her to look down and she realised she had a bunny body, I may not have seen the whole of her face but you could tell she was beaming
@Simon_Fitzgerald @LukeNI Thanks both, I'll definitely be doing that a little bit later. Then to spend my coins doing up the playroom with that ball grabbing game
@get2sammyb I agree that this is definitely a hidden gem that many people will skip by. It has to be made into a full title. One question to everyone that's played it though. Has anyone figured out how to move the platform with the fan on it. I'm stuck on 19 bots and it's bugging me lol
My daughter is 6 and she loves it. I just make sure that she uses it in small doses with regular breaks. I get why they put that age but I think each individual is different. My son is 4 and I know for a fact that he's not ready to try it yet.

Rant over.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want to Know About PS4 Pro?
PSVR is the big subject for me. What, if any, are the improvements to my new piece of kit. I know it's not going to improve the graphics of games currently released, but what does it improve. I'm guessing a more stable system ie frame rate. But outside of that I just don't know.
Re: PS4 Exclusive The Last Guardian Finally Goes Gold
As someone who never got to play ico or SotC, I literally am going into this game blind. I'd hoped for a 2nd remaster for the PS4 as I don't own my PS3 anymore. Regardless of whether I get to play the other two or not though, tlg definitely has my attention and I look forward to its release.
Re: Video: The Playroom VR's Robots Rescue Deserves Its Own Game
@RevyTwoHand Apparently you do need a 2nd person playing with a 2nd DS4. They then use the touchpad to move the platform. The robot they control flies and has shooting capabilities. See if you can either try it or check it out on YouTube.
Re: Store Update: 18th October 2016 (Europe)
@get2sammyb Are you going to be adding a PSVR section to the weekly releases?
Re: Feature: PlayStation VR's Non-Games Include Dark Fairy Tales and Dancing Pop Stars
@hadlee73 lol yeah, you have the body of a wabbit. Check it out.
Re: Feature: PlayStation VR's Non-Games Include Dark Fairy Tales and Dancing Pop Stars
Re: Feature: PlayStation VR's Non-Games Include Dark Fairy Tales and Dancing Pop Stars
@MadAussieBloke My daughter loved invasion too. The look on her face when I told her to look down and she realised she had a bunny body, I may not have seen the whole of her face but you could tell she was beaming
Re: Video: The Playroom VR's Robots Rescue Deserves Its Own Game
@Simon_Fitzgerald @LukeNI Thanks both, I'll definitely be doing that a little bit later. Then to spend my coins doing up the playroom with that ball grabbing game
Re: Video: The Playroom VR's Robots Rescue Deserves Its Own Game
@get2sammyb I agree that this is definitely a hidden gem that many people will skip by. It has to be made into a full title. One question to everyone that's played it though. Has anyone figured out how to move the platform with the fan on it. I'm stuck on 19 bots and it's bugging me lol
Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on PlayStation VR So Far?
My daughter is 6 and she loves it. I just make sure that she uses it in small doses with regular breaks. I get why they put that age but I think each individual is different. My son is 4 and I know for a fact that he's not ready to try it yet.
