Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying a PS4 Pro?

Day one, baby, day one...
BTW, if you don't have a 4K TV, the Pro is still going to improve games - better FPS, better textures, more environmental details. Most places are offering it for €150 or €200 with a trade in of the 1GB or 500MB original PS4.
So it's not expensive - price of a decent night out.
Don't get all the negative feelings towards it.

@Dichotomy
I can see the points you raise being pertinent for people. But this sort of short cycle, with a mid generation upgrade could mean that all games will play on the current generation hardware (original & pro) and on the next generation hardware. This would be a great bonus to players.

@Fight_Teza_Fight
Exactly, the amount of moaning going on about the new console and the determination of some not to upgrade to 4K is laughable. You have the choice people, play with an old scary lead on a CRT for all I care, just stop moaning about new tech. Also, what gives about 4k Blu-ray? Just stream 4k movies.
Anyway, for me it's time to upgrade..... can't wait to play the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn.

@Quintumply
Good log Captain!
I generally try out each planet in a system. This has led to some boring adventures, but also to some good ones, like dealing with hostile sentinels and a hostile environment whilst mining the hell out of the place. Then of course there is the pirate avoiding run to the space station to profit from your strip mining.

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing No Man's Sky?

@wiiware
I sent the first 16 or so in, then the list kept growing, the subreddit for the game contains a load more suggestions and some great ideas. The devs are looking at that (even though it's full of nasty comments).
I think HG need to get on top of this fast, else the game will be forgotten....a lot of people will burn out on it in its current state.

A few ideas, still playing, but it's really not a finished game, more like early access, still we paid top dollar....I hope HG start talking to the community before it's too late, anyway....list of what could be fixed below:
1. Customisable FOV
2. Suit, ship & multi-tool upgrades should stack
3. Bolt caster to reload ammo automatically
4. Waypoints which have been visited and saved to be marked accordingly
5. Ability to set a waypoint on the planet or in space
6. System map available for each discovered system
7. Planet map/model showing visited areas
8. Ability to hover ship
9. Ability to choose ship's landing spot accurately
10. Ability to select a landing platform to land on from the air
11. Reduce pop in of landscape and items
12. Diary of discoveries, words learned, aliens met
13. Ability to look at a recipe for crafting/ installation without the need for a free inventory slot
14. Upgrade all suit slots to 500 carrying capacity
15. Upgrade all ship slots to 1000 carrying capacity
16. Planets should change position in the sky like the local star
17. Ability to fly low, crash the ship
18. Real factions
19. Real economy, more quantities of resources at trade points
20. Sound menu
21. Customisable ships
22. Missiles for ships
23. Gas giants
24. Ringed planets
25. Proper moons
26. Emergent gameplay - simple systems interact to create complex scenarios
27. Fix ship clipping into the environment and then launching into space

Three systems in, found the best planet so far, a friendly high desert one full of resources and funny creatures with a gorgeous climate, gonna load up on goodies on this one, then venture further.

@BLPs
Try rebuilding the database in the maintenance mode. It usually speeds things up.
Gotta love the OS though....20 seconds from standby to starting a game, impressive for what's basically a stripped down x86 PC.

Re: You Won't Need PlayStation Plus to Play PS4's No Man's Sky Online

@get2sammyb
As the game goes on, people will have more capable ships and will be moving towards the centre of the universe, so the chances of encounters with other players will rise.
This will be kinda cool as each player will have gotten to the centre via a different route and with a different adventure.
