@Neolit Hellblade blows away almost ANY character driven narrative. But that was the main point of the game, so that's a good thing! Neir was also way better than HZD, and I liked those main characters better, too.

I don't dislike HZD, but those couple games were just so good.

All the characters I picked were the lower percentage.
Delsin in particular. I hated that whiny baby.

@Neolit I'm playing HZD right now. Just finished NG+ and started frozen wilds.
I don't think Aloy is that good of a character. She's not BAD, but not a top PlayStation character. I mean, she's better than a generic Killzone fighter, but I felt she was pretty one dimensional. And her voice work was so quiet and monotonous, I could barely understand or hear her most the time.
I like Rost's story much better.

THQ is on a roll lately. I'm very interested in a few of their games.
This looks really fun. Lots of variety in the game play.

An official PlayStation Pro controller will undoubtedly be over priced, so I don't know why people have been pining for one for so long.

I don't like controllers that are way different in shape than a standard one. I don't really need different features either. A turbo button is only useful for like, AFK boosting or something.
My wife got me a custom painted DS4 for Christmas. I like that thing.

I watched the little video at the end there. The fights look like they're just a few animations on a loop. No room for individuality in your fighting style. I suppose it feels a little cooler in VR, though.
This, to me, is the biggest thing holding VR games back. Simplified games.

I have like $60 in my PSN wallet that's gone unused since Xmas (thanks, wife!) and it looks like I may actually buy a game or two for the ol backlog.
I've been waiting for Outlast 2 to be cheaper than $15, and I'm pretty tempted by injustice 2 ultimate edition.

@smelly_jr I really liked Slain. You definitely need to take it slow at first. You will die a lot. A lot. But it gets easier with practice.
I never did get the plat, got tired of save scrumming the no death run and beating the bosses with no hits is tough.

None of that was even gameplay footage, camera angles are all wrong.

I'm really hoping this is a good arcade racer, but what has been shown so far just seems like random chaos on a race track. If that's how it plays, count me out.

@Ralizah yeah, the $199 is so misleading, unless, for some reason, you have a camera already. At least the Skyrim bundle has everything you need (including a seven year old game!)

Are you POSITIVE it's the new headset for $199? Because over on the always-useless Blog, it's not so clear. Even when you click their "more info" button, it's just three images of the old Xmas bundles. And the $199 has GT Sport with it still....and that had the old model.

No way would I get into PSVR at this point. It's still in the testing things out phase and I don't want to deal with that. Plus, I hate motion controls. I'd prefer to just use my regular controller for everything but that's not the direction the games seem to be going.

So dumb.

Eh, first person is my least favorite perspective for games so I won't be trying this.

TEW2 was not as good as the original, but still pretty good. I'm hoping they make a third.

I thought the open world-ness really took away from the atmosphere of the first game. It was cool when you discovered something in a random house, but it took away from the story aspect a lot.

@NoxAeturnus ha, they also said "instead of working on dlc, we fixed the game with this big ass patch for the last few weeks". I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. They're pretending we should applaud them for the giant day one patch instead of dlc.
No duh! Get your game right before trying to get more money from us!

While I loved this franchise when it debuted, I don't need to spend new money on old games. And I don't particularly like giving money to Activision, either.
Actually, with Acti at the helm, it's an obvious cash grab (made more lucrative by Sony's paid for timed exclusivity) that probably won't turn out to be as good as we hoped.

I'll replay these games for like, ten bucks, maybe.

@YummyHappyPills my first game was on Atari and it was called Beserker, I think. If it was remade, I sure hope it wouldn't look OR play like the original, haha!

They are idiots if they're using the results of this survey to actually find out if people want it. Of course they do. Everyone knows that. How out of touch can you be?

Pro is so half assed. Every single time I read an article about it, you're making compromises for one thing or another. Resolution takes away performance, performance hurts the visuals, 4K(inda) but only 30fps.... I sure hope it wasn't successful enough for there to be any more half steps in the future.

I don't care about MP games at all, so whatever trends this is following don't matter to me. It is a shame when all devs and pubs start doing the same crap as each other, though.

Can't wait for this game. Will be day one as long as backlog permits.

@JLPick I absolutely love the booklets that (used to) come with games and CDs. I still buy CDs. I have to get them from weird online retailers, though. Hard to find anything in stores that I want.

@JLPick I can't imagine Sony going back to downloading movies after their asinine omission of a 4K player from Pro. Their reasoning (that people much prefer to stream them) leads me to believe ps5 will only allow streaming of videos. Unfortunately, my speed isn't good enough to even get HD on the gameplay trailers in the store, let alone an entire movie.
I can assure you one thing, if ps5 doesn't have a 4K player I'll be passing on it at launch.

You guys really need to do more than four matches a week or whatever. I read it's another 20+ WEEKS to get to the end of this. That's insane.

It's amazing that this gets a sequel while other games have such ridiculous sales targets to even be considered for one.
Good for Deck 13 and fans of the first. I tried the demo and didn't really enjoy it that much.

What is so stupidly infuriating about Sony is that they are so stingy with their information.
Just suppose there IS a GOW edition ps4. It probably comes with the game, right? Well, pre-orders are already open for the game. So do people pre-order the game and hope to cancel later in case a special edition is a thing? Well, you can't do that if you pre-order digitally (but you're a moron to do that this early anyway).
Sony loves to blow themselves on their Blog, just announce all the stuff at once. Tell us a special edition console is coming, tell us all the dumb versions of the game available, but do it all at once. Stop stringing fans along.

Also, the color is lame as hell.

@JLPick I've been pissed about the streaming only attitude from Sony since it started. I haven't purchased a single thing from the video side because of it.

@adf86 just the term "five year plan" has me worried.
We're past the point of needing remakes (but people still go nuts for them and constantly ask for them) so just make a totally new game and be done with it.
It's also telling that Activision was "surprised" at the success of the trilogy. They probably couldn't imagine people just wanted to PLAY a game instead of buying MTX and waiting on expansions...

@nhSnork I wish they'd just automatically grant the trophy upon server shut down via a patch or something.

My point with the primarily online games was that you should expect there to be online trophies, not that they're better for having server shut downs.

@Flaming_Kaiser I waited an incredibly long time to get that game and by the time I played it I knew I wasn't even going to attempt the online trophies. I know I could have slogged through most of my own, but I didn't want to waste that much time.

This game was ok. It was really hard to get the trophy for killing a bunch of guys with one explosion on the Vita (less powerful console, less enemies on screen😉).

If devs insist on having online components like this, please don't attach trophies to them. If your game is primarily online, that's one thing. But this is a dumb trophy to be locked out of.

@get2sammyb I more wish games would stop adding server based features to games that don't need them.
This is a 100% single player game, why do I now need to rush to complete it before it becomes impossible? At least stop attaching trophies to the superfluous online stuff.

Hopefully there's more to this update than supersampling (which such a small fraction of players will use) and the ability to delete notifications. I mean, really? They needed an update for that? If they weren't such dunces, we would have always had that "feature". And the "hiding" stuff in our library, too.

How bout something else that's simple and should have been there day one: moving the tiles in our freaking home screen.

@themcnoisy yeah, I know the $60 a year includes all three systems and whatnot, but the offerings for the old systems have been so lame for a long time. Maybe lame isn't the right word for the Vita games. They've been more niche. But PS3 has been lame.

@gingerfrog uh, I'm just stating something obvious. Of course a few people still take the PS3 and Vita games, but I'm pretty sure most just take a ps4 game every now and then. The other systems just aren't getting legitimate attention from Sony. They don't even mention them in the Blog videos.
