This game has fallen so far. I played it from 2010-2021 with a group of friends who would play club games. I was that guy who would be happy with the smallest of improvements to physics or anything minor, and somehow the game managed to play well enough in clubs to keep us addicted, but the last couple of years it's just arcade garbage. We gave up after 2 nights last year and didn't bother beyond the beta this year. Switched to FC instead.
Played about 30 minutes. Not sure if I will stick with it. I don't normally play gacha or free to play games. It looks cool, but I also have no idea what is going on, so the jury is still out.
I'm disappointed they did the ports without mentioning this as I started P3 already, but I do kind of want to finish it and then play this version as well.
I have this and Baldur's Gate on the way and think I am going to start with Sea of Stars. That gives BG3 some time if there are any console related bugs and hopefully I can get through Sea of Stars much more quickly.
I'll pick it up at some point. I was on the 360 back then, so I don't have a way to replay it now and would enjoy going for the platinum. It went from an impulse buy to waiting for a sale/more free time based on the lack of improvements.
I didn't enjoy the game (played it on one of the PS+ tiers) but sorry to hear that for the team affected. The biking was not enjoyable and that concept was what I was interested in the most oddly enough.
It would be great if these could be updated more accurately. They always show up again and again in the news feed, so my assumption is either new games are being added (which should be noted) or it's just spam?
@Nem I agree. This was one of my first and favorite RPGs, but this game is closer to plagiarizing than homage. I'd love to see a remake/remaster or sequel.
I'm a subscriber for now at the highest tier, but ultimately I don't think this is a service for me. I tend to play games as they come out, so while the value is good in terms of cost to gameplay, if they aren't including niche titles day 1 to round out the subscription, it's probably not a good fit for me long-term.
One of the big failings of PS Stars in my opinion is where they don't retroactively check what you've played. I can't count the number of times I play a game the month it comes out, and then there's a bonus for buying it the next month. Maybe they've changed this, but that's how it was originally at least.
Loved the game but haven't jumped into any DLC yet. Wish they would have integrated it in a better way into the campaign or just made it standalone as I don't really want to replay the game just for the DLC, but I do have the renegade type playthrough to do.
I was one of the 60 FPS or nothing people, but I got it anyway after trying the trial, and I love it. The swing isn't perfect and driving the ball is too easy, but playing on full sim options, it gives me one of the best golf experiences I've had. By that I mean that I actually have to play the course instead of solving equations in my head and pinpointing the landing spot. The game does this a few ways, but among them are showing the carry versus the total distance on a shot, hiding exact wind speed (and varying gusts), and hiding exact elevation numbers. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but if you're looking specifically to recreate a PGA Tour season with that in mind, it's a lot of fun.
These changes are also great and show that they are listening to feedback, so I look forward to a few more in the future, especially with multiplayer.
As for 60 FPS, the thought is it would improve the feel of the swing which is a little heavy/delayed from the button input. It works as is for me, but I can understand the annoyance.
I played the beta just to get the level 20 wolf pup, and I will play the game no doubt, but I was not overly impressed with it. The unnecessary occasional lag in the world due to being always online, as well as the mundane graphics (I must be off as on consoles at least it does not look like a current gen game to me), had me feeling like a rehashed diablo 3. The story does seem to be a little more fleshed out, but I was skipping it to hit level 20 before the beta ended.
All in all, a solid game, but not at the top of my wishlist.
I'm enjoying this albeit only a few hours in. The reviews are pretty poor across the board, so it will either catch up to me or I'm just an outlier. I like the style of the game and the rather straightforward dungeon crawling to this point.
I first heard about Jake when they brought back XCOM, and he was in some videos about it. I've always liked him and the games he's been involved with since, so I wish him the best in the future.
I checked it out but not for me. The intro/test was too much effort for a casual time filler. It's probably a good thing to make sure they get people who take it seriously.
I have Night in the Woods in my backlog and Overland on my wish list, so good to see. Usually, the PS5 upgrades happen after I have already started the game on PS4, and I prefer not to have dual trophy lists.
I've played almost nothing but this game for the last week — really loving it. I agree with Abbey parts could be way better, but I always feel like I'm making progress towards better cards/abilities or unlocking stat boosts that will help in the battles.
@Olmaz Agreed. I impulse purchased this one and was surprised by the poor performance given the style (which I like.) Responsiveness is one of the most important aspects of games like this for me, and it's not great.
@JohnnyShoulder Graveyard Keeper is great. I platinumed it when it came out. Potion Permit has a similar vibe but I don't think will be as in depth. I liked the game but am experiencing some of the bugs and holding off a bit for now.
Appreciate the mini-review. As for the grinding — does the game communicate this or is it a situation where you get into a boss battle and suddenly realize you are under leveled?
I can live with the first situation, but the second is really annoying.
I think Colin has it nailed on LSM. They don't want to remove it, but they do want to force Sony to implement Game Pass and get more subscriptions on PS.

Re: New Sony PS5 Advert Designed to Set Pulses Racing
Their new slogans "Feel it now" and "Feel a new real" for VR are terrible.

I'll get this day one. I haven't followed any of the info on the game, but the first one was fantastic, so I'm ready for any follow ups they have.

@Kanji-Tatsumi I could see that. Their games always pull me in, but I usually get bored with them at some point.

@Wazeddie22 I've read turning off auto-save can help with this.

Love this game but it needs to have trophies for the DLC or it's less appealing.
Re: Deadpool Deals Big Damage in Marvel's Midnight Suns Next Week
I'm also interested in how this fits in. I beat the game but need to do a dark playthrough, so if I can do this along the way I'm interested.

@jgrangervikings1 Dysmantle is in my top 5. I woke up on a Saturday and bought it without any previous info — what a great little surprise.
Re: Game of the Year: Annette's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
I enjoyed Relayer. Could have been a lot more, but it was comfort food for me.
Re: Potion Craft Brews Up a PS5, PS4 Port in 2023

This looks interesting as long as there is enough content. There's a lot of potential if they made a game to virtually construct all of the lego sets.
