No, 69 billion is too much for Sony. I personally think it is an appropriate amount to spend. But Microsoft has no choice but to do something like that. Xbox will never be like Playstation and Microsoft has it all to thank for that. They screwed it up with Xbox themselves. And a game pass is really not going to help with that. I don't think it is necessary for Sony to continuously put first and major third party titles on plus. Just look at Spider man 2. a great game with 2.5 million copies sold in 24 hours. That just shows that the vast majority of gamers are not interested in a game pass. Sure it's fun and there are quite a few nice titles coming up, but in the long term something like this is not sustainable, not even for Microsoft. Ultimately, a profit must also be made there. And with 30 million subscribers you're really not going to achieve that. If Microsoft is willing to share the monthly amount with Sony, it might be a great opportunity to bring GP to Playstation. And let's be honest. Sony doesn't have to spend that kind of money to be successful.

I want Sony's bank behind me. Sony isn't exactly poor or anything. In 2022 they had 44 billion to spend. In addition, they also have billions in licenses for music and films. But I get what you mean. It is of course very easy if you have a company behind you that can easily spend billions.

I've never liked CoD games. I never understood the hype around it either. But that's probably just me. The only time I play CoD is when it's free on PS Plus and then only the single player. Anyway. To anyone who enjoys CoD, enjoy. Personally, I think it's all a faded glory.

This list secretly makes my heart bleed. I'm from the 80's. So I practically grew up with Gaming. But at least the future for gaming looks bright.

Still have premium first 59 euro a year. Now with tet the price increase is 79 euro per year. Think i,ll stay alive and be able to put food on the table. I think its great value for the price. For me personaly that is.

But why under presure? PS5 sales have increased by 175% compared to 2022. All Sony needs to do now is announce a number of mega first party titles and stop with that quiet attitude. Then MS can buy up so much more. (Because apparently they need that to survive) But then they won't dethrone Sony. It's not that CoD games are Pandora's box.

That 5 billion was reserved for takeovers. That's a small piece of the pie. That does not mean that there is no longer a frenzy for takeovers. The question is whether Sony thinks it's worth spending more.

I get your point, but those statistics are not available. I think that Microsoft, for example, fends off a hacking attempt almost every hour. Or Google Apple and Amazon. You just don't read or see anything about it. And at Sony it happens more often because the Playstation brand is immensely popular.

If you indeed do not use the online options of plus, it is expensive. But then €49 & €59 per year was already too expensive. I just mean to say that the overall increase is not too bad at €12 per year. It's not a shocking amount or anything.

You're talking about 6.60 a month to play online and you get 3 games "on top" as well. all those streaming services are more expensive per month. Don't exaggerate so much. Sony is also a company that has to earn. life costs money. We have to live with that or do nothing at all.

Essential is €1 per month extra, extra is €2 per mont extra, and premium +/-€2,60 per month extra...EVERYTHING is getting more and more expensive. Hell my car Costs €180 to fill her up. groceries on average €120 per week. I think I can survive these amounts. Everyone pretends the world is ending, but Sony has to go through the current inflation and I think the days are still not too bad. Netflix is more expensive every year.

yes i agree with you. That's why I said they don't get my money for this. but there are plenty of new players on the market that would love to try rdr on a ps5 or xbox x or switch.

Who cares? It's not my money. And GTA 6 is coming anyway. Maybe there are a lot of new gamers this generation who have never played on a ps3 or 360? New gamers are added every year, children get older and start gaming at a certain age, simple.

Nah Cod still be playable on Playstation. And Playstation is such a strong brand it doesn't need CoD to survive. People are now acting as if the world is ending with this takeover. Nah i don't believe Sony can be pushed out. They are way to big in the gaming world. I simply don't believe it will do that. After all, it's only CoD that brings in money. If Sony comes up with a big CoD competitor (and they will, Sony is not stupid) Then MS will have it checked. Because if COD was really that good, activision blizzard wouldn't be for sale either.

I don't think Activision is bigger than Sony Computer entertainment. But it comes close. even with this acquisition, Microsoft still remains the smallest of the big three.
