Re: PS Plus Copies of Days Gone Won't Offer Cheap $10 Upgrade to New PS5 Version

TommyNL

Yes of course Ps Plus costs money. Netflix too, Gamepass too. But you do get a choice of different games to play every month, whether it's your taste or not. A service always costs money. But then you don't have to offer a game for ten bucks. There are enough people who bought the game for the full price or in a sale. So they have much more right. You are not obliged to take ps plus extra or premium. Essential is also mandatory, unless you want to play online. But there are enough great games (certainly on Playstation) that don't need that. Yes, of course €50 is way too much money. But it will naturally become a lot cheaper. Not that suddenly everyone wants and needs to play Days Gone.

Re: Free PS Plus Extension for All Members Affected by PSN Outage

Yes, you are right that Sony does not always communicate very well. But I always think that they solve it well. Suppose there was a major hack and they immediately turned the button to protect our personal data. I can imagine that they would not immediately announce something like that. I always think that when a major service is down, the reactions of people online create a lot of hate towards the company. While we have no idea what is going on. And maybe there is a good reason for that. Microsoft also does not communicate when the Xbox network is down, but you never hear anything about that. But somehow Sony always has to explain everything and can never do anything right.

@thefourfoldroot1
That depends of course, first of all what do they have to tell you? Is that exciting to know? Or can they use their time better to work on a solution behind the scenes. I don't care at all why psn was down, what I do care about is that it will work again, and that's what it does now anyway? Problem solved. When xbox is down I never read anything about it but when it happens with Playstation it's on all the news sites in the world.

Re: Xbox Boss Wants to Beat PS6 on Hardware Capabilities, Not Necessarily Games

TommyNL

Yes because strong hardware does indeed sell well...that man can talk a lot of nonsense. He wants to justify everything that is wrong. Just accept that they can't compete with Sony and continue with what they are doing now. Personally, the range of games in the pipeline is currently stronger than at Sony. But that is also because I think Sony has not announced more than half of them yet.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions

TommyNL

Unforgivable is also a nice exaggeration. The fact is that most of us are not waiting for Live service Well, Sony has (finally) realized that now and is continuing with what made them big and first. Done. Nice fodder for social media, but that's the order of the day these days. Just look at the Switch 2. 10 years ago you didn't have all that whining and leaking. Everyone angry on the internet because Nintendo would be too late? No! Just stop releasing those stupid leaks. People believe EVERYTHING on social media these days. When is that worldwide blackout coming? That would be a good reset for 48 hours. Maybe we'll all start thinking again.

Re: PlayStation Has Swiftly Solved Its Profitability Problem

TommyNL

@KoopaTheGamer Oh, iPhones and Samsung phones are also quite overpriced. Yet they keep selling. Whether you can afford a pro or not. I can buy one if I wanted to. But I don't care about the added value. I'd rather leave that 799 euros in my savings account and buy a PS6 in the future. And then I can also buy a Switch 2 from it, You're right, by the way. But saving is also an option if you really want something.

Re: PSA: Buying The Exit 8 on PS5? Don't Get Ripped Off by The Exit 9

TommyNL

Just look at new sortware, just for fun count how many idiotic games from aaiaeastsoft xiuani ltd piapia. and 100e worth of nonsense chinese crap in there. I mean, there must be some really good developers in there. But the same goes for the car industry. At some point we'll be flooded with too much crap.

Re: Sony Boss Hermen Hulst Allegedly Taking Control of Bungie as Ex-Employees Call for Current CEO to Leave

TommyNL

I must honestly say that I enjoyed reading your story! really genuinely interesting. I didn't know that story either. In fact, I'm going to look into it a little more. And it indeed gives a nice look at the situation. But still, this is neither the Sony nor the Microsoft of 10 years ago. I think that today a completely different management approach is needed to keep things running. It remains to be seen whether the right approach is sometimes chosen. But I do think Hermen knows what he is doing. In that respect, I honestly think he has more in mind for the industry than Phil Spencer. But that's my personal view on console land. And if Hermen had worked for Xbox and Phil for Playstation it would have been exactly the other way around.
