Re: Sony Predicts Slide in PS5 Sales with No Major Existing IPs Planned Before March 2025

T-Bone09

So does existing titles mean no games? How can you compare this to Xbox? I’ve seen Xbox go year over year with only 1 or 2 titles releasing. It doesn’t conclude to no games but simply nothing that was already released for ps5 coming out before March 2025.

Existing titles like Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon, Gran Turismo.. these are existing titles.

As mentioned Concord is supposed to be releasing this year. And from what I’ve read it I can’t wait to play. Fairgames also new title looking to play. Helldivers 2 has been a lot of fun. Still have 3-4 third party games that are coming out in the next few months.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Defends Skull and Bones Premium $70 Pricetag, Insists It's 'AAAA' Quality

T-Bone09

I kind of feel pity for Ubisoft because they produced good games in the PS2 and PS3 era. Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Etc..
I am willing to give this game a chance but $70 is way too much.. if it was a MMO with some sandbox type of gameplay joining crews and all that it might to me be worth a shot.
I want to give Ubisoft the benefit of the doubt and hope they can get demonstrate their love in the game. I’m also looking forward to StarWars Outlaws..
If Ubisoft don’t pull off as they promise they may be some mass layoffs coming from them.

Re: Xbox Has Allegedly Insisted It Won't Stop Making Consoles, As PS5 Port Rumours Mount

T-Bone09

I’m assuming Microsoft will come out with a streaming device as their base model to help move gamepass subscriptions and a high end next gen console as their performance model.
We will see how it works.. but this just an assumption.

I know physical software for them seems to be not a proiority and having retail stores like Walmart to stop selling Xbox games, if true, then it seems to fit a digital only future for them.

Re: Developer Raven Apologises for Busted Call of Duty: Warzone Update, Explains What Went Wrong

T-Bone09

I have not bought MW3 even though I put countless hours in MW2.. I have so many friends that play but I was really letdown that will DMZ did not get an update along with Warzone. On top of that, they charge you $70 for the game that is basically DLC.

Trust me, if there was a game that was as even remotely as fun as DMZ. I would buy it in a heart beat. I’m begging Sony to please remake Socom and create an extraction based game with mission based objectives while you’re fighting PvP. There is a big void here.. I would literally pay money for a kick starter like this.. just saying.

Re: Helldivers 2 Has Gone Gold, Ready to Fight Back the Alien Hordes on PS5, PC

T-Bone09

@AdamNovice Your right, it may have been a story I’ve read and I’ve thought it already happened. I believe Alex Smith on X (Twitter) said that they, Arrowhead Games, were internally part of PlayStation Studios. Not saying that’s a 100% but it wasn’t the first time I’ve heard of it. And yes it would have been a good for Sony in my opinion.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want from Sony and PlayStation in 2024?

T-Bone09

There was some fond memories made with Sony’s games and to be honest I’ve think we had a bigger first party famine than we had after the ps3 launched. What really makes PlayStation so great are its first party games.. always has been and always will.

Socom would be a needed shooter and maybe make an fps option to help counter Call of Duty. An extraction team based game with missions would be so much with other teams fighting you. Like DMZ.

A Warhawk remake. One of the my all time favorite games was the PS3 title. Not Starhawk.. even though the build and battle was fun. There is a big hole missing and it sure is this game.

A proper Resistance reboot would be nice sometime down the line.

But for something close.. please.. I want to see a Ghost of Tsushima 2.. that series has become one of my all time favorites.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Wins Big in PS Blog Awards, Including PS5 Game of the Year

T-Bone09

Did they not enjoy FF16? I really enjoyed the story line.. It could’ve been made a series from that alone. I replayed it with the DLC and finished doing all the side quest. It was a well rounded game. I was just surprised that SpiderMan2 got all the attention in almost every category.
Now don’t get me wrong, I did like SM2 and I bought it twice. One for me and one for my nephew. It was and still is a good game. But when I played certain titles I really got wrapped in the story and emerged in it. Like Ghost of Tsushima even Days Gone. I thought SM2 did really well too but maybe since it’s a well known comic and I watched all the movies I’m not really surprised to find out the outcome. I really liked it but I don’t see it being all those things they’ve mentioned in my opinion.

Re: Rumour: Call of Duty 2025 Will Return to a Near-Future Setting in Sequel to Black Ops 2

T-Bone09

I’m not trying to troll but I sure hope Sony brings back SOCOM.. I have been thinking about that today, it would be another contender in the shooter genre. There is so much they can do with it. I’m kind of getting tired of Call of Duty.. love the friends I made while playing. But I think Sony can do a good extraction type of game similar to DMZ with missions and other players being potential enemies.. I know Sony has a lot of multiplayer games in development which look fun.. I’ve only heard good about Concord and HellDivers 2 but I would really enjoy some classic Socom with some modern updates or have a classic mode and battle royale type of mode; or my favorite some type of DMZ extraction type of game with maybe a fps option.

Re: PS Plus Extra Loses 9 Great PS5, PS4 Games Next Month

T-Bone09

@Northern_munkey

Reason why I asked was because the monthly games that I played stayed.. like my daughter and I play HotWheels Unleashed together and it’s stayed as long as I had it on my library. They should allow you to keep it if you had it installed instead of taking it away since your paying for that feature anyways..

To each his own opinion. The development cycle does suck these days.. my favorite era was on my ps3 07’ upward when games were being released and you had to hold off on getting games because they were so many coming out at the same time. Now it’s not like that. We had God of War late last year, FF16 this year, Spider-Man 2 this fall.. and some new titles in 2024.
Microsoft has confessed the same thing. Development time is on average 4 years per studio.

About marketing deals.. that’s what you said was called business. Sony is the leader in market share and majority of multiplat games are sold on ps5 other than PC.
Back in PS3/360 era Microsoft did all the marketing rights. They had the Xbox emblem after every EA commercial especially EA sports. They had timed exclusive content to Call of Duty.. they had also paid to keep certain games exclusive or time exclusive. This was Microsoft’s business model.
It’s just last gen Microsoft was forcing players into their design of entertainment. That’s what made the Xbox One do so horribly. Sony listened to consumers and that’s why PS4 did so well.. I guess we can agree to disagree because I do believe Sony does try to find new ideas and new developers like venturing in Chinese development.

And Sony does help with development and other 3rd party studios like the team of Callisto Protocol. They used Sony’s motion capture and their cinematics.. now I know that game got bombed by some critics. But the part that I’m seeing is Sony does try to help devs and wanting them succeed.
I may see more than some others because I look at gaming news very frequent.

But I do agree the dev cycle is so long and also so much more expensive.
I did hate the demise of Japan Studio but I do think most of the people that worked there are involved with the team that created Astrobot and are working on a new game.

Every current dev team at Sony are working on new games and or that one dev they have working on ps3 and ps2 games for their premium subscription which at the time is a waste of money in my opinion.

Re: If It Wasn't Obvious, The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Skip PlayStation

I had a GameCube too and I loved it. But Activision had the rights to the IP and when there was a falling out Marvel Games went to Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft turned it down due to working on a project at the time. And Sony took a chance on it and it turned out great. That’s what makes Sony different. It wasn’t just another spider man game with the story from the movie. It was completely original.
Xbox has had good games that they haven’t ever touched again. They had that Panzer dragon game from the original. Lost Odyssey, Crackdown, that Rome game on the Xbox One.. plenty of titles that could be made.
I just don’t like the part of buying IP’s that have been well enjoyed on current multiple platforms and making them exclusive.
This is what puts a bad taste in people’s mouths.

When Sony bought Bungie they agreed that they weren’t going to stop multiplatform games. That’s the reason why Microsoft did not buy them years ago.
Now I know Sony wants exclusive games and it does for their consumer to broaden their gaming experience. But if you look it’s new titles.. it’s new dev teams they have recently acquired with new games.

Re: If It Wasn't Obvious, The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Skip PlayStation

T-Bone09

@Friendly

Microsoft turned down the IP. Insomniac took over and made the game for PS4. They did not make Spiderman for Xbox. Insomniac only made one game for the Xbox 360 and it was Sunset Overdrive.

Your argument is clouded by your delusion.😅
But you clearly have too much time on your hands. Good night

Re: If It Wasn't Obvious, The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Skip PlayStation

T-Bone09

@Friendly

Yea of course it was the movie games. Like the PS2 version of the spider man movie in the early 2000’s. I mean we can go back to the original PlayStation days too.

But this is different. If you remember Microsoft turned down the offer with Marvel to create a SpiderMan game Marvel Games split from Activision. So this is different.. like I said.

Re: If It Wasn't Obvious, The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Skip PlayStation

T-Bone09

Microsoft doesn’t want exclusives.. it’s because of Sony!
Buys two big publishers and make the biggest RPG game exclusive.
What a joke Microsoft.. most of the Elder Scroll console players were on PlayStation..
You said Starfield was exclusive because it didn’t have a base on another console. But you’ve always been conniving.

I hope Sony responds with 2k and Square. Before money hungry Microsoft monopolizes the industry

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Sales Have Been 'Fine', Nothing More, Nothing Less

T-Bone09

Do I think Sony could market it more like they have with other games. Maybe. Like offer it in a bundled ps5 like horizon and god of war. That could have sold more in my opinion which are first party games I know.

But about the game. It’s a great game. Very underrated in my opinion in the gaming media. It is a masterpiece. It was great in many areas. I really enjoyed it.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Dev Sucker Punch Speaks of Its Studio Family

T-Bone09

By far one the greatest games that I’ve played in the last decade. They really did Japan a solid even though it’s historically fiction. But it had a great combination of elements that made it a great game and they nailed it. Graphically I was really impressed with the color and detail of the physics. The story made me not want to quit playing for weeks. And the gameplay pulled me in and the boss fights were challenging.

They really made something original and i hope they make a sequel. IMHO

Re: Final Fantasy Creator Believes Latest Instalment Is Ultimate Entry in Franchise

T-Bone09

I personally enjoyed it. The story is phenomenal. The graphics are great also. The details in the draw distances are incredible. They’ve really outdone themselves. In my humbly opinion.. it Delivered Classic Square Enix gameplay and story. .They could easily made this a Netflix series in terms of the story line and the character progression. I don’t know why so many want this game to fail. It’s a great game. It’s good to have something to play for me other than DMZ in MW2.. there’s been a drought for good games and I really enjoyed this..

I like single player games with great stories and there has been a shortage of that. So I’ve mostly been sticking to multiplayer with some friends playing DMZ just to help pass the time.. I’ve haven’t had a real sense of fulfillment in a story other than finishing Ghost of Tsushima. That to me is one of the best games I’ve ever played. FF16 does really good job at doing with the story and the fighting is next to none.. probably a solid 9 if I rate it. The only thing I would complain about is some of the side missions are just fillers to keep the game longer.

Re: Reaction: What Happens to PlayStation if Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard?

T-Bone09

I don’t like it.. I don’t trust Microsoft. One big evidence is look how Sony buying out Bungie vs Microsoft buying out Bethesda. They are anti consumer and they just have deep enough pockets to do this type of stuff. I been following game news way back when you would get a game informer magazine subscription at GameStop or EB games back then.
What has Microsoft done over the last 20 years?
They have to buy devs and publishers to remain competitive because they suck at putting the work in like Sony has. They cry and say we are dead last in the console race.. they did that so they can buy their way up to the top.

This is what makes the gaming business so unattractive. They said they don’t want to make exclusives but only do that because Sony does it. Does any one remember the dlc maps on Call of Duty that Microsoft had first dibs to because they bought exclusive rights to the content and their ads had Microsoft logo in the end. EA sports had the Microsoft logo because Microsoft paid for their name to be their.

Ok that being said, how do they become dead last and cry it because Sony does exclusivity when the whole time Sony did it because they were playing Microsoft’s own game.

Sony will probably buy another major studio or publisher now since it will more than likely finalize.
You can probably see a competition of consolidating the gaming industry.

That all being said. Please Sony, bring back good titles.. Socom would be a good pick, Warhawk for a fun arcade shooter. I miss those days.
