Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time
Heroes return

Insomniac Games may be soaking up Sunset Overdrive’s rays over on the Xbox One, but that doesn’t mean that it’s done with the PlayStation 3 just yet. Yesterday’s mysterious promotional poster has been updated, including a link to Insomniac Games’ social network channels. The refreshed retweet fodder includes the words: “When worlds collide, heroes return.” Feel free to put two and two together.

In fact, the puzzle has been all but solved at this point. A couple of Twitter-based detectives managed to score images of a handful of PlayStation Network accounts playing an unannounced title named Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus on the PS3. We’ll eat a Lombax burger if the leaked images aren’t connected to the aforementioned teases.

Judging by the Burbank-based studio's Tweets, series veteran Brian Allgeier is working on the title. For those out of the game production loop, Allgeier last worked on Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, lending hope that the hinted title could finally be a proper entry in the series. While there have been plenty of Ratchet & Clank releases over the past few years, none of them have managed to hit the same quality level as 2009’s exceptional outing.

PSN Account 2

Of course, the big question is: which platforms will the sequel deploy on? It looks like the PS3 is a certainty, but will the game also expand to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita? We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed. First and foremost, though, we want to know that this is a proper, old-school Ratchet & Clank game. Please don’t fob us off with another disappointing spin-off.
