Insomniac Games may be soaking up Sunset Overdrive’s rays over on the Xbox One, but that doesn’t mean that it’s done with the PlayStation 3 just yet. Yesterday’s mysterious promotional poster has been updated, including a link to Insomniac Games’ social network channels. The refreshed retweet fodder includes the words: “When worlds collide, heroes return.” Feel free to put two and two together.
In fact, the puzzle has been all but solved at this point. A couple of Twitter-based detectives managed to score images of a handful of PlayStation Network accounts playing an unannounced title named Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus on the PS3. We’ll eat a Lombax burger if the leaked images aren’t connected to the aforementioned teases.
Judging by the Burbank-based studio's Tweets, series veteran Brian Allgeier is working on the title. For those out of the game production loop, Allgeier last worked on Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, lending hope that the hinted title could finally be a proper entry in the series. While there have been plenty of Ratchet & Clank releases over the past few years, none of them have managed to hit the same quality level as 2009’s exceptional outing.

Of course, the big question is: which platforms will the sequel deploy on? It looks like the PS3 is a certainty, but will the game also expand to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita? We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed. First and foremost, though, we want to know that this is a proper, old-school Ratchet & Clank game. Please don’t fob us off with another disappointing spin-off.

Crack in Time was absolutely superb. Im hoping for assimilar quality entry in the series
@MadchesterManc One of the best games on PS3 in my opinion. The absolute pinnacle of the franchise. Must admit, though, I selfishly want this to be a PS4 game, but think it will be PS3 only.
PS4 expanded port pls.
I want another game to get my hyped to all hell about the PS4.
Just throwing it out there: I wonder if this will be a crossover game. "Worlds collide" and "heroes return" suggests so, doesn't it? Ratchet & Clank X Jak & Daxter?
My prediction is that it will be a crossover between ratchet & jak
Its probably going to work like watchdogs will, how its meant for the ps4 but gimped for ps3.
@get2sammyb Crack in time is without a doubt one of the best games on Ps3, One of my favourites this generation to boot. IF this ends up on Ps3 it wouldnt bother me much, but it would be great for the Ps4. They could easily have that animated film look they were so close to achieving on Crack in Time.
If this ends up being a crossover title with Jak & Daxter, I think they hype train will be leaving the station packed again. Its a series thats usually always sprung up in conversation regarding Naughty Dog. I think itd be safe enough in Insomniacs hands..
Ps4 please!! Crack in Time was very very good. My first platinum also.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Sorry for the nonsense and not creative comment but I was really hoping for a new Ratchet and Clank game after beating FFA and Deadlocked.
Can't wait to play it, another reason to stick with my PS3 few more months after PS4 release.
If Heroes Return has anything to do w/ this being a Heroes on the Move (sorry I never can remember the new and improved title) sequel for the PS4, well I can't write out my reaction, suffice it to say it will not be good.
On the bright side it doesn't look like a Move controller like it did yesterday.
I wish Sanguine was right about the PS4 eclipse launch date though.
OK, after a moment to calm my head (heat and humidity are killing Long Island this summer) it does look like a "real" PS3 Ratchet and Clank game. (I can't imagine all this leaked nonsense for another $15 DL or a "shiver" Move game.)
It is weird that it wouldn't be PS4, but I'll take it!!!
@rjejr I wish i was to:P
On the subject: I think Rachet and clank need some breathing time. This serie is becoming the Mario of playstation. The difference is mario is always good. Its like pizza it cant go wrong. But rachet and clank... A crack in time was superb but after that everything went to s*it.
What i want to say above is: Isn't this serie fatiqued?
Have to admit if there's a hype train I won't be boarding it. Dreadful series that I recently played through after hearing so much about. Staggeringly below average I thought.
@rastamadeus Really? Even the 'proper' ones? I think the first three and Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time are all fantastic — though obviously the first two have aged a bit.
I even liked Size Matters.
No PS4 and I won't even consider a purchase... Given the quality of Insomniac's games lately, I probably won't be missing much anyway. Ted Price and Co. should just stick to what they're good at these days which is kissing MS' a$$ along with that other turncoat Kojima.
@get2sammyb I only played the 'main' ones of the series. I found the first just about passable then the rest were awful. By the time I gave the PS2 back to my cousin I was thoroughly bored to tears with the other games.
No thank you Rachet and Clank by insomniac no thanks their recent round of games were Meh at best i would have thought with the movie coming in 2015 to give it a little break. Is it just me that thinks insomniac is pumping out games to quickly? quality not quantity guys!
Talk about whoring the franchise. 4 to 5 years for another R&C would've been better. I'm not much a fan of IG so it doesn't matter.
trailer's up! PS3 only for now.

@irken004 - Nice! That looks good.
