Re: Poll: Does the Steam Machine Pose a Threat to PS5?

Snackfood

My friends all play PS5. We have many games we enjoy on the Sony platform. I have a lot of PC games I would love to play with them, but they are resistant to do PC gaming. Something like this could allow them to join me in the PC games, while still enjoying our home on PS5.

I am personally excited for this aspect. But I see it as complimentary to the PS5 environment, not really a one or another kind of competition.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Sea of Thieves on PS5?

SoT is my night time hang out with buddies game. I'm still neck deep in FF7:RB and other games have my attention. But for a few hours now and then, it's been a good time with friends. Decent game, but definitely is a social experience.

Re: Sony on PS Plus Price Increase: We Want to Make PlayStation Plus Great

I tier'd down with my renewal. I'm so far behind that the 2nd tier is awesome for me. So many games I wanted to play, but didn't have time, I now get to play for "free". Even with the hike, it's more than worth it to me. I never stream or touch the classics, so I was going to go down a level anyway.

This is our reality...everything is going up...except wages.

Re: After Initial Concerns, Sony Now in Talks with Roblox for PlayStation Version

Snackfood

I grew up and got a cash allowance. My kids get Robux. For a free game, it gives kids a lot of options, so I don't mind throwing some cash for some silly items.

There are some concerns about some of the content, but I also keep close tabs, and there is some quality stuff on there. My son is even learning how to program in Roblox. Believe me, the popular games are not created by children, it's all Lua based and takes some skill.

If it came to PS, I would probably join my son more often in some games.

Re: Feature: PSVR2 Three Months Later - The Good, The Bad, and The Worrying

Snackfood

It needs more games, but I'm having a blast. I spend a lot of time in VR. I don't recommend it for my friends, as it doesn't fit their budget or gaming needs. But for me and my tastes, I love it, and have hopes for future content.

Bring on Firewall, so I can start that addiction all over again. (And give me Diner Duo...PLEASE!!!)

Re: Talking Point: Is 2024 Too Soon for PS5 Pro?

Snackfood

I don't think there will be a Pro, but if there is, I will get it. Especially if they tell me it would somehow improve PSVR2 even more.

But I'm a sucker for shiny new tech, and I've accepted that.

My hope is that PS6 will be '27 or '28. Bring me the stability generation where we get to run the pretty graphics with fast frame rates.

Re: PSVR2 Guide: Your Ultimate Resource for PS5 Virtual Reality

Mine arrives tomorrow. I love VR and never had an issue with motion sickness.
I am nervous because I have nystagmus which is involuntary eye movement. Doesn't really mess with my vision, but if something is tracking my eye movement, it'll be interesting to see if it has any negative effects.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Hogwarts Legacy?

Snackfood

I gave it a 7 and that's not a bad thing. The environments, details, and atmosphere are top notch, but I'm not a fan of the story, acting, collection quests, or combat.

I speed through dialogue and enjoy the exploration. I will definitely not be 100% the game as the icons of everything available are overwhelming.

Again, not a bad score, just a personal one. I don't regret buying it, and will put hours into it, but more of an experience for me rather than a game.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Producer Says Narrative Changes 'Necessary' to Keep Players Interested

Snackfood

I'm an old fart, played FF7 when it launched in highschool multiple times, and a few more as an adult. They nailed the environments and the characters. They can do what they want with the story. All I ever wanted was the world to feel and the characters to act like they did in my head so many years ago.

I like how the story is going and the questions I have. If it was a 100% retelling, I would have been excited still, but I definitely dig having some mysteries to experience.

Also, if you want a good understanding of the FF7R, it can be tricky, check out Maximillian Dood's breakdowns on YouTube. He's helped confirmed some theories I had and really put the path clear in my head.

Re: Townsmen VR Settles on PSVR2 for Launch Day

Snackfood

@Jayslow Damn, good point. Oh well, I can dream. Might have to try and fire that game up again. Maybe someone will make a similar VR game...drawing the magic spells would be awesome in VR, and maybe even flinging unruly citizens out of the world.

Re: Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey 'Blown Away' by PSVR2

Snackfood

@KaijuKaiser VR is different for everyone. You have to try it to know how it works with you. When I first got PSVR, I would need breaks after 30-45 minutes. After a while, I could get lost for hours with no side effects.

Now some of my buddies get headaches after 15, and some are so sick after 5 minutes, they'll never touch it again.

It makes VR tricky, because you truly do have to "see to believe" and find out how your body holds up. I hope it works for you...it's incredible fun for me.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Snackfood

I had 0 interest in the game. But enough of my buddies bought it and were on me to get it, that I grabbed it.

The Mulitplayer is actually decent in this version and the group has had some good times, so I have no regrets.
