Re: Another Six-Month Apple TV+ Free Trial Available Now on PS5, PS4

Ryne-Gaia

Don’t think I’ve ever redeemed Apple TV+ or whatever on the PS5 like ever. So I’ll gladly take advantage of this and I’ll use it to watch Ted Lasso and Tetris. The former because it genuinely seems interesting and the latter also because it seems interesting but also so I can get more movies from this year under my belt for a “best movies of 2023” list at the end of the year hahaha.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 484

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend is kinda simple. On the switch side of things I’m just gonna keep going at Bayonetta Origins. Still a absolutely amazing game and again honestly kinda my Nintendo GOTY so far. I’m catching up on those Nintendo 1st Parties as I think all I got after this is the Fire Emblem Fell Xenologue, Advance Wars, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed and Tears of the Kingdom. So I’m thinking on how/when to swap over to third party catch ups as over on that front I got a whole lot like Octopath Traveler 2, Paranormasight, Trails to Azure, Atelier Ryza 3, WE ❤️ KATAMARI, Ghost Trick and soon to be Rain Code and Trails into Reverie. Honestly if anyone has any thoughts and ideas lemme know I would appreciate it. Speaking of Rain Code I wanna play it so bad but I still gotta wait until at least the 18th. Stinking customs…… Tho Amazon ain’t just screwing me on that but Reverie too that’s coming in like 4 days too. Over on the PS front it’s pretty simple not sure if I’ll play some more XVI later as I’m really enjoying it and don’t wanna just blast through it. Maybe I’ll get back into SF6 as I’m really excited for Rashid and would definitely love to earn some trophies for like World Tour mode or Battle Hub. This week I was able to buy Resident Evil Village's Winters Expansion and Lost Judgment’s The Kaito Files so I reinstalled Lost Judgment as well as RE5, 6, and 7. I’m now all set to finish up my Yakuza and Resident Evil marathons. The Resident Evil one has definitely taught me some interesting things about that series that I wanna elaborate on when I’m done with it. Over on the anime front I’m impressed at the fact I now only have two animes left to wrap up after finishing Demon Slayer last night and that is Mobile Suit Gundam Witch From Mercury and Birdie Wing. That and catching up on this new show I love now called Bungo Stray Dogs. Once I finish Witch and Birdie I’ll be able to put together my top spring list and I’m really excited to see how that comes together. As for my early Summer picks currently I’m looking at Atelier Ryza, Jujutsu Kaisen, Liar Liar and Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Season 2. Overall big excited feelings heading into less then two weeks until Pikmin 4. Have a good weekend y’all and Happy Gaming as always.

Re: Kuro no Kiseki Localisation News Coming 'As Soon as Possible', Falcom Hopes

Ryne-Gaia

I would love if we got a Kuro localization announcement this year that would be great I would genuinely love that as that is my most anticipated RPG ever right now I think. But now I’m sorry I gotta call out this article for a little BS if you ask me. Now I’m no localizer so I don’t know how hard a game like say reverie is to localize but the line and I quote “ That's because NIS America — Falcom's publisher here in the West — has been extremely busy in its quest to localise the latest Trails games, making sure that audiences outside of Japan are caught up on the franchise as quickly as possible.” Is just complete BS. If that was true when they announced these games coming over about 2 years ago they would have been like “Zero is available today and azure by the end of the year.” And so on and so forth at a more decent pace. At that time the latest release was Cold Steel IV for PS in late 2020 and Switch in April of 2021. The concert announcements were like July of 2021 and they wanted you to wait at least for the localization of the PSP game with no English VAs and with assistance from the fan translation a year and a half and for reverie a full 3 years since it’s release. Kuro 1 alone will also be most likely 3 full years since it’s release too. So I would say they took what was a decent pace with Cold Steel 3 and 4 and shot themselves in the foot. I do apologize for ranting like this but honestly with big games like FFXVI and VII Rebirth, SMTV and presumably P3RE and Metaphor and all sorts of RPGs from all sorts of company’s getting Worldwide launches Falcon really needs to step up and join the crew in that regard. And to make it seem otherwise to me is just making excuses for failures. Again sorry for the rant I’ve honestly been pissed about this topic for years since the concert.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 483

Ryne-Gaia

Right this weekends kinda simple. Had a early shift of work and now a later shift of work so gamings kinda all over the place hahaha. Beat Metroid Prime last week. Thought it was pretty great. That makes this weekends game Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe. I beat the main story on it and I think all I have to do is just one more boss in Magolors Epilogue. Excellent game and excited to move on to the next game in my chronological Nintendo backlog: my GOTY Bayonetta Origins. Simply loving it. Over on the PS5 I do have one specific game I’m hoping to beat the story of soon. Doing that and getting to delete it would free up so much storage for me hahaha. I also got Tunic on there this week so I wanna check that out. Tho who am I kidding I’m glued to FFXVI that game is absolutely amazing in every form I know I’m still at the beginning but I’ve loved every character they’ve put in front of me it’s great. As for the anime front I’m still working on finishing up my spring animes. So far I’ve finished Yuri is my Job, Rokudos Bad Girls, The Marginal Service and Hells Paradise. Why just today alone I wanna do a hat trick and finish My Home Hero, Yamada Kun, and Mashle. Then I’ll only have my continuing Spring anime like Gundam Witch and some other new ones like Cafè Terrace to finish up before starting some excellent Summer ones like Atelier Ryza. Man that one makes me wanna get back into Ryza 3. Otherwise I’m looking to pick up a copy of Ghost Trick for me and a friend and impatiently wait for my special edition or Rain Code to come July 18th because of the Customs delay 😤. Hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Gaming to all.

Re: PS5, PS4 Versions of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Coming Shortly After Switch Launch

Ryne-Gaia

I’ll admit my only issue with what that guy says is regardless of reception we’re gonna make more. Now I think this game could stand to be pretty good and I hope it’s good but imagine a push square review that comes out and is like “besides all the bugs and performance issues this game has its biggest issue is it feeling like a shadow of what it’s trying to emulate.” Or something like that and it gets like a 3 or 4 out of 10. This guys basically saying welp don’t care double down even harder then before.

Re: Feature: Summer Game Fest - What's It Like to Attend?

Ryne-Gaia

Two things. One I’m really excited for that surprise new game exclusively revealed to just SGF attendees. Embargoed game is a strange name but I imagine must be extremely exciting. And I just wanna say this was a excellent article Liam. Not to badmouth the Nintendo Life article about SGF but that was mostly TEE HEE VIDYA GAMES. Where as I really enjoy the personal touch Liam puts here with his thoughts on the homeless and the Pride Parade. I’m being 💯 serious I genuinely liked the small touch I felt was given there.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 482

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend is a pretty simple one. Just gonna focus tonight on a nice long opening session of Final Fantasy XVI. Then the rest of the weekend is gonna be trying to finish Metroid Prime Remastered. According to the guide I’m following I’m pretty close to the end of the game? I’m in the Phazon Mines. Might play some Dead Island 2 or Street Fighter 6 as well. As for the anime it’s Hells Paradise and Mashle primarily and honestly for the rest of the weekend and most of next week the focus is on catching up on and finishing off my Spring anime as a lot of them are wrapping up as the Summer Anime season premieres soon. Hope everyone has a excellent weekend and happy gaming.

Re: Full Final Fantasy 16 Takeover on PS Store for PS5 Launch

Ryne-Gaia

@awaltzforvenus I mean I’m not disagreeing with you but honestly the last couple BIG games on either just PS5 or PS5 and Xbox have had these takeovers. Like I’m pretty sure Diablo IV had it on both? But I know the night SF6 came out I was beating Like A Dragon Ishin and I beat it slightly early so I decided to check the PS Store just for laughs and was like WHOA ITS ALL SF. Just like XVI here.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 481

Ryne-Gaia

This weekend will be kinda simple when it comes to games. Some Metroid Prime on the Switch. I beat Fire Emblem Engage so Metroid is next up. I made it to the Phendrana Drifts and it’s incredibly pretty and honestly has made me fall in love with the game. As for the PlayStation it’s the new season of Fortnite with some pals and maybe some SF6? Otherwise probably some SpongeBob Cosmic Shake. Genuinely that gsmr is a sleeper hit of this year. I mean it all falls by the wayside when FFXVI comes out this week right hahahah. As for the anime you know it’s the usual Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace. Have a good weekend everyone and happy gaming.

Re: Sorry Physical Fans! The New Like a Dragon May Be Digital Only on PS5, PS4

Ryne-Gaia

So here’s the thing. I’m not ready to jump down their throats just yet over this because from the beginning they’ve made this game out to be a small intermission for both the story between Yakuza 6 and Like a Dragon 8 but I think they’re also using it as a way to hold over fans until 8 comes out. It’ll have been 4 long years by the time 8 officially comes out since 7. It’s the longest dev time I think the RGG guys have had like ever. So not only do I think LAD8 is gonna be the biggest one ever. But I think they might be using the profits from this for some of the developing. So yeah opting digital probably makes them more money. But weird conspiracy rambling aside the flip side of the coin where I give them crap is this is the same company who when they sold you a collection of 3 4 and 5 physically on PS4 included a Physical case of Yakuza 5 to complete the collection since that was digital only over here so they know how much physical matters to people. Unless that was a Nagoshi decision in which case well we’re all screwed now that’s he’s gone.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 480

Ryne-Gaia

So for this week it’s business as usual. Gonna chip away at more Fire Emblem Engage tho shocker I’m almost at the end of it. Chapter 24 of 26 I think. Depending on how I beat it and other things I might just go ahead and wrap the rest of the DLC emblems and the Fell Xenologue in so I can say I’m 100% done with Engage. After that I’ll either dip into a new birthday gift or Metroid Prime Remastered as that’s the next release after Engage. Otherwise I’ll be playing some Street Fighter 6 both World Tour mode and battles with the friends. For my birthday not only did I get some really nice pairs of Timberlands and these beautiful replica Aegis necklaces I also did get a copy of Dead Island 2 and a friend surprised me with eshop money for a copy of We Love Katamari. One of my other friends gave me 25$ in PSN money so I’ll be browsing the store looking for a fun game on sale that I’ve been waiting on. What that is? I dunno. Either way I’ve got lots of fun to have with new stuff until FFXVI and Ghost Trick and Rain Code come out. As for the anime front you already know it’s Hells Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero, and Cafè Terrace. Looking forward to the Capcom, Ubisoft and RGG showcases on Monday. Excited for more showcases this month in general. Happy gaming and have a awesome weekend everyone.

Re: After Attracting One Million Players, Street Fighter 6's Sales Have Now Passed a Milestone

Ryne-Gaia

@Green-Bandit I would personally recommend SF6 if you’re going for one fighter. Granted I won’t deny I’m not biased but personally speaking having followed the FGC for what feels like a decade now Street Fighter would be the wiser investment year over year. Mortal Kombat most likely will come out have a year if that of fun and DLC here and there and then NRS will just kinda say alright we’re done and then start teasing Injustice 3 or something and with the Devs goes the fans. All of a sudden MK isn’t “cool” anymore or something. With SF tho if V is anything to go by we could get support for VI for like 5 or 6 years with loads of patches, buffs/nerfs, characters, all of it. So personally I think down the line you’ll have more fun with VI. Sorry if that was too much I’m really passionate about fighting games.

Re: Square Enix Allegedly 'Slightly Panicking' About Final Fantasy 16 PS5 Pre-Orders

Ryne-Gaia

Interesting section about reviews at the bottom there. Personally I’m really hoping XVI reviews well and either sits in between SF6 with its 92 and TOTK with it’s 95 or surpasses TOTK and lands with like a 96 or something. That would be super awesome and alongside titles like RE4 would really solidify this first half of the year as like one of the greatest years of gaming ever.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Will Offer a 'High Degree of Freedom' on PS5

Ryne-Gaia

So I saw someone who said “if they make these updates daily then update 7 will end up on June 8th.” Besides being my birthday that’s also Summer Game Fest. So honestly if we do keep getting these updates daily it wouldn’t shock me if Update 7 relates to Summer Game Fest and it’s something like, Question: When will Final Fantasy VII Rebirth release? Answer: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will release December 9th, 2023. And that’s the part that’s like in the green text they’ve been doing.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Introduces Its New Co-Protagonist Saga Anderson in Latest Video

Ryne-Gaia

Still really excited to pick up this game. Still thinking of getting it Day 1. Funny tho that this game reminds me of Deadly Premonition 2. Sequel to cult classic game announced years later. One of the playable characters is a black detective lady while the other is the previous protagonist. Only difference is DP2 has a majority of its plot set before DP1. Not spoilers by the way that’s like publicly advertirsed. Whereas Alan Wake 2 I have to imagine largely is gonna take place after AW1.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 479

Ryne-Gaia

Well for me this weekend is a interesting one. Probably gonna skip a session of TOTK tonight and just dedicate a whole 5 hour session to the newly launched Street Fighter 6. I’ve been waiting for this game since the State of Play that showed it off for real last year and I’m just so happy it’s here. I can’t personally wait to play as my new favorite character the French model Manon. Tho I do wanna make some time for TOTK obviously but I think after this weekend it’s gonna go on the back burner. I think starting Monday I wanna tackle Fire Emblem Engage full time. I know some of these later chapters are long, annoying and difficult so I’m not exactly looking forward to it but I am looking forward to the story and the DLC. Otherwise it’s my birthday this week on the day of Summer Game Fest so I’m looking for two things. 1. Some really great and cool announcements there. And 2. Hopefully snagging a copy of Dead Island 2 from a family member for my birthday. Last year it was Horizon Forbidden West. On the anime front this week it’s some Hells Paradise, Mashle, Demon Slayer, My Home Hero and Café Terrace as usual. Happy Gaming y’all and have a great weekend.

Re: Expect Utter Carnage As Devolver Digital Schedules Livestream

Ryne-Gaia

Honestly I think devolver kinda needs to cut the bit. They publish some excellent games but honestly the format of their showcase does more harm then good like I almost skipped cult of the lamb because the showcase turned me off from watching it but then it took this small indie streamer I watch looking at it that made me go wow this is nice. Because she wasn’t just engaging in blood and poop and gore jokes like Devolver relishes in like a class clown.

Re: Rumour: Tekken 8 Beta Could Be Incoming

Ryne-Gaia

I would love for Tekken 8 to come out this year. It looks incredible and I’m very excited to get it. However I do think it’ll launch next year which makes it kinda strange when I see people talk like aw man the big three fighters are coming out this year. That being SF6, MK1 and T8. I think even a SF6 review today made mention of that and it’s like that was never confirmed? I would love for them to come out and just make a firm statement on it so people can stop being such weirdos about it.

Re: Street Fighter 6 (PS5) - Iconic Capcom Fighting Franchise Finds Its Form

Ryne-Gaia

So no offense to the reviewer but I always take a critical eye to the pros and cons on reviews since starting using this site and personally those two cons don’t matter to me so I’m really happy to see this is basically a 10/10. Excellent review tho I don’t wanna seem like a hater it’s a great one. Honestly this having a 92 on Metacritic, TOTK a 95 and hopefully FFXVI having something in between those two would just make this the best first half of a gaming year ever.

Re: THQ Nordic Is Trying to Convince Remedy to Release Alan Wake 2 Physically

Ryne-Gaia

Now if they can announce a physical edition before the game comes out and it’s day and date with the digital or not too long after? Sure but if not I’ll just pick it up digitally. I’m not happy about it but I do love Alan Wake and honestly this seems like a situation where the developers mind is made up and they kinda don’t wanna budge on it.

Re: No, Dragon's Dogma 2 Isn't Adding Co-Op Multiplayer

Ryne-Gaia

Listen before we focus on the amount of players possibly could we focus on the way the game looks? I mean like I’m no graphics snob but like this game looks like a early PS4 game. It’s being made by the dude who made DMCV and just look at how good that game looks. I know it’s the RE Engine but like alright can they not use that for this game? Genuinely dissapointing looking in that showcase last week.

Re: Despite Facing Huge Hurdles, Star Wars' PS5 KOTOR Remake Is Still in Development

Ryne-Gaia

Honestly I would rather they go quiet on this and the next time they talk about it it’s to be like hey it’s out this October or something. Just don’t be like the prince of Persia remake and seemingly have a article every week that just consistently gets worse and worse and worse. That being said I’m pretty sure this is like 2024 at the earliest and most optimistic. 2025 at the genuine earliest. Most likely 2026 in truth tho.

Re: Like a Dragon Showcase Announced for June

Ryne-Gaia

Very excited for this as I too think Like A Dragon Gaiden will be there with a possible release of September to November I’m guessing. I really wanna see what that’s gonna be. A full length 70$ Yakuza game? Or like a budget not really full in most ways 40$ side game thing. Excited either way.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 478

Ryne-Gaia

Well big week of game beating for me. This week I was able to beat both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Both excellent wonderful games that I have very little words to describe them because they were just THAT good. Anyway for this weekend it’s gonna be more Tears of the Kingdom and actually working on beating Sifu next so I can use that for some nice trade credit towards Street Fighter 6 at the end of the week. If I can do that I’ll move onto some One Piece Odyssey as I’ve been really loving that and wanting to play more of it. With Xenoblade done tho the next title I’m moving onto might be a little surprising possibly. It’s gonna be Fire Emblem Engage in that nice Monday is the day off schedule slot. As for the anime y’all already know it’s a nice Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace sort of weekend. Happy gaming to all and a happy long weekend to anyone in the US.

Re: Feature: PlayStation Showcase Biggest Winners and Losers

Ryne-Gaia

Easy for this one. Winner is Metal Gear Solid. I can’t wait for that remake and I can’t wait to dive back into MGS2 and 3 later this year as well as play MGS1 for the first time ever. MGS is my favorite series so I’m very happy.
Loser is PlayStation Studios. I think people are too hard on individual games like Fairgame$ or Foamstars I’ll give them a shot. But as it stands I think after Spider-Man 2 it could be at least 5 or 6 months until another showcase where they would reveal plans for like say DS2 or Ghost of Tsushima 2. And that would only be because they have no choice since they have no other games. Also for stuff like people thinking there would be a Twisted Metal game because of the show? Well if they’re willing to show off just pure CGI like Fairgame$ and yet nothing for Twisted Metal? Just saying that sounds like there’s no game to go with that show.
