@Th3solution yeah, when are school kids ever awful to each other 😂
To be fair, that's why I'd love a past student returning as a detective for a game theme. Some murder and conspiracy etc. It opens up the world so much more, and you will be dealing with other adults more often, maybe even going to the muggle world, which seems like the only thing they can do, using the hogwarts map as a returning area. A Victorian era or earlier muggle world has all kinds of potential as a setting, without killing the old fashioned hogwarts area vibe.
@Th3solution If the added content was a DLC quest line crafted in a true RPG fashion with in depth dialogue choices, I'd be down. That's what I'd want the next game to expand on. Not the A or B with no real difference approach that the original has. It'd be cool to see if they can handle that kind of thing
@DennisReynolds I'll probably forget at some point, but some random in passing mentioned a jakub or something that cheated him out of everything at dice, I won't say who told me as it was actually another random funny emergent moment. All i'll say is Hail Henry. But it sounds like another unmarked opportunity to find some good loaded dice to me.
I must go and get the doggy and train with a swordsman next though, but I'm literally on marker 'R' of a sidequest chain! 'R'!!!! and as we know parts are labeled alphabetically 😅 it's madness haha.
@DennisReynolds honestly I'm shocked how deep the gameplay and emergent questing is, even as a KCD vet. I don't think I've followed a single labelled quest.
With 5 groschen to my name (that I then doubled via dice and then lost again) I went for a half naked wander, gambled with some travelling circus folk, talked to a guy who lost a letter and beat him up on his own request to pass off that he was mugged hahaha
Went back to visit Bozhena as it was the only bed I knew of, via an inn who let me know about fist fighting tournaments, and all kinds of rumiurs for the local areas happenings. I couldn't afford to sleep there as it cost 12g. And since seeing Bohzena I've found a bandit with actual armour that I could take, and somehow i'm now on a massive detective quest that's letting me talk to even more people in the town.
The NPC's are an absolute wealth of information and I've already lined up a bunch of quests I'm going to try next, ranging from treasure, mysteries, and hilarious and petty town rivalries, before going to see if I can find, Horse, Dog, Bed and stable work for poor Henry.
In a way I'm a little disappointed that I found some decent to fair armour so early, so I'm saving it for travel into unknown areas. Detective Henry may have to wear trousers now, but he is still half naked and out of his depth in spirit 😁
Loooong. Most stuff if it's fun. And if I love it, I'll do it all again at some point in the future to see what I missed, or to try different approaches.
divorce level fall out in the stocks with Hans? I really played into the fact they had just had a really bad day, and now I'm sad I have to wait for an eventual chance to, hopefully, both apologise to each other for saying something they didn't mean
But I love it haha. Also, is there a thread in the forum yet? As with an RPG thos big, there really needs to be so people can compare notes on choices 😅
@PorkChopExpress it is literally stunning and absolutely huge. I thought it'd be a mild upgrade in quality, despite positive reviews. From having apples that barely load textures on consoles to intricate artisan woven patterns on saddles and the image quality and resolution is unbelievable, you can stand 10cms away from a tv and it doesn't look gamey and jagged.
The change from cinematic portions to real world is barely noticable and the environments, something they've always done well, have so much more depth.
Everything good about the game itself, especially if you liked the first game, is just much better which I guess is why it's been said about it "that's how you do a sequel"
And with it having mostly branching quests with multiple solutions, events and sequencing, even side quests, rather than jist an A to B type affair, it's staggering work.
All I've done is wander around near-naked chatting to peasants, picking up information I can use later, and plotting how to survive 😁 and I know that is the bare minimum, considering how much more brutal the overall plot seems to be.
Corpos, don't you dare blame it on single player
Idiots, don't just fall back on blaming DEI or woke because it's trendy
Let's be normal and blame it on simple meddling corporate c*ckwombles who clearly told them to make it like a live service marvel-like, probably by saying the words "just make it like fortnite, but also a marvel movie, because that sells, right?" Leaving some weird cartoonish mess. That and an overall decline in writing talent knowing how to be f***ing nuanced, of course, and thus writing dialogue as detached statements thrown out into the ether.
@PorkChopExpress @DennisReynolds @Khayl but we must be angry because someone told us to be angry!
KCD annoyed the far left for f*** all reason. KCDII annoyed the far right for f*** all reason 😅
And in the middle of all the "controversies", as people attack his creation from left and right, the creator sometimes likes to scream at people that don't want him to make the game he wants to make, and so he will sometimes challenge those who question the game from a soley political stand point. (As would I if people attacked something that I created for f*** all reason other than to force their own political views on it and say it's wrong not to adhere to their warped standards)
Thankfully, most people that still have brains just want to play the game because they like it because it is the game it is supposed to be. And the fact that two games with exactly the same creator and exactly the same setting and message in regards to how people were in 1403 Bohemia have somehow annoyed both extremes just shows how dumb those extremes are.
The game is near on endless religious and medieval values bloody satire. But then again, people don't understand satire these days because it doesn't wear a plastic ice cream cone suit and sing pop songs at gormless D list celebrities while millions of viewers clap along like they've had an amateur lobotomy at lunch time.
JCBP. The idiots are winning. Good review here at Push, the less said about Eurogamer the better. And hopefully at some point the culture war will f*** right off 😂
@DennisReynolds I'm now hoping Henry can pick up contracts in some villages to go and hunt monsters that turn out to be all manner of other things 😅
A bit like the Hell Hound in KCD, that strange sound in Ledetchko which was super freaky. What was it? Dog with a sore throat 😂 what did we do? Had a one way chat with it and learned to bark in a similar way to scare some local idiots 😁
People still underestimate how good the games are haha
Wheras I live and breathe for trophies. Sign me up 😂
I will add that both my playthroughs of KCD1 ended up well over 200 hours without trophy hunting, just enjoying. So maybe add another 200 hours to that platinum total 😛
A company that expects 10million sales for a game catering to a user base that provides under 100k sales seems a waste of time and money at this point.
Port some old games onto switch and you'd get some big sales TLoU, Uncharted, old GoW etc.
@lazarus11 yeah. I think the price would be okay if it legitimately said/was battle ready, and had the unique design element for KCD on top of that. This one is not the kind of design I was after though, so it is irrelevant for me personally.
Good sparring swords seem to be at least £400 and upwards now though, which is why it surprised me that this one wasn't battle ready at the price it is listed.
@lazarus11 I was going to say that I think the selling point (beyond KCD merch) is this will be a high carbon spring steel sword, hence the price being more in line with sparring swords, rather than a stainless steel replica which would absolutely not be safe and would break under the load of swings. But the website listing says not to be used for sparring so 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Nerrrr, we don't want to gatekeep, unlike meany Sony...
Auto translate: We tried to buy a bunch of publishers and take their games away from Sony, but no one bought those games or our consoles. So, in summary, we f*king failed so hard that Microsoft had to step in and give all of us at Xbox HQ a good firm slap.
I do recommend people buy Indiana Jones when it's out on PS though. Good little game that deserves to make more than £12.50 through Xbox sales 🤦♂️
@ShogunRok it's weird, because the game looked pretty much good and ready when they last did this 'x hour preview mission from 2 perspectives'
Serious de ja vu. I'm going to be looking out for more apples rolling across the ground to see if they really are buying in to the physics and destructible environments aspect in this next game
And now I've realised this is PushSquares own 4 hour impressions, which is even better, as it is hands on opinions. Nice 😁
26th of January 7th February 21st or 12th or 3rd June
It's funny why people care enough to try and guess a trailer date. Like, if a trailer does drop on any of the endless guesses, what are you going to do, then? Guess when the next trailer drops? Guess the release date? Then what? 🤷♂️ the game will release when it releases, and time will move at exactly the same pace between now and that moment 😁
It looks a lot better than any of the combat in any recent releases. It looks like it feels good to play, too. It's hard to make a trailer actually give you that sense, but they somehow have. There's no "freeze stop" after every blade hit, the parry/block mechanic looks very manageable (I don't think they take any damage in second phase 😅) but there isn't a load of red and white flashes on screen to alert you when to parry, so it just seems to flow on momentum and character visuals.
I think the last move was them just showing off... waiting for the bulletstorm and timing it so they can flip through it with some kind of stored special move? 👀😁
Also, the jump dodge onto the opponents blade? Come on now.
I didn't play the DLC's in my first playthrough anyway, but recently played them as a way to get ready for KCD2, and boy, am I ready. Band of ***** felt like a perfect lead in, in terms of theme and tone, and The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon added a little more flavour for setting out on our journey with Hans in part 2. And so, after immersing myself in the main quests and side quests in full (which will be hundreds of hours of good content) I'll happily revisit the game for the KCD2 DLC in the future, too.
I'll get over them not quite having got the hairstyles to function in cutscenes yet. It's a very secondary feature in a first person game where you wear helmets frequently. But it's nice that it's still coming soon.
@get2sammyb and we already know what these vocal users will say when GoY, Intergalactic, Wolverine etc release. "Eh, I'll wait for a sale" "£70 is too much for a game" "PS Plus catalogue sucks" (every single month until one of these is on it) and then "iT's NoT eNoUgH"
Gamers have become spoilt little b*tches. In fact, all of mainstream society has. From politics to free online content. Nothing is enough and everything is sh*t unless we get everything that we want right now. The world has become a big bunch of ***** whiny babies.
Sony definitely went about it wrong, overall, and wasted way too much money on a high risk strategy, but this specific instance is the alternate way of doing it, a smaller studios with low risk, unfortunately it seems they haven't been able to cope. But this isn't going to cost Sony hundreds of millions, so they should keep trying again with smaller studios to create a hit of some kind, it doesn't even need to be GaaS. Just keep funding small teams to create what they actually want to make and develop that creativity, and let your main studios do what they do best That is what a strong Sony does. And that is what would be better for the industry.
Is rocking back and forth waiting for KCDII classed as playing anything? 🤷♂️
Nah, I'll probably be putting up a nice new sword display at some point though, so that will satisfy my historical weaponry urges, and maybe i'll play a bit of KCD too, which sounds like KCDII if you say it out loud 😛
"but what if we get it right next time?" - Hermen Hulst 🙄
Seriously, think for a moment how many small scale independent studios could have been financially supported by Sony/SIE over these past few years. Studios that could themselves potentially hit live service, latest craze or cult hit gold with the type of genuine artisan creativity that can only be achieved in small passionate teams.
Sony could have literally given heaps of money to every single genuine independent game studio and in return published their games for them... for free! And it would still have been money better spent with much more chance of a positive return on it than what they have got by backing all of these failed and binned "AAA live service" ideas.
It's over half of their studios they have had doing this sh**, right? I'm genuinely dumbstruck. Please send Bungie and anyone who recommended any of this sh*t in the first place out of the earth's atmosphere, cheers.
The header should simply read: For f***s sake! 🤦♂️
Wait, the Bend game was legitimately a live service game and not an open world rpg/single player game 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ the one that was a brand new IP learning and taking elements from Days Gone? The one we had been waiting to be announced?
So all that time, and all those poor devs hard work was for... f*** all and something that noone even wanted, once again 🙈🙈🙈
My question is: Will 'Switch 2' even come anywhere near to being a rival to the Switch itself? Switch players aren't exactly hardcore gamers overall, so will adding power really inspire them to move on from their Switches?
I think it will be interesting to see who they do target with the console.
One of the worst studios at optimising games fixes the PSSR issue they were having?
Good signs for everyone, right?
The third game might be a bit more playable on the PS5 Pro nearer to launch than all the other versions that are forced out too quick, too 😅
@GraniteFraggle your statement is kind of incorrect, but a common misconception. You can sleep to save, there's autosaves at important quest checkpoints, AND you can buy/craft saviour schnapps for an "any time" save. Which you can use to experiment with how to tackle a camp full of bandits when away from towns, for example.
The problem is people just run through games without paying enough attention these days, and then pass on misinformation on the internet and put people off trying things for themselves.
If you are a gamer that likes to think for yourself there is a strong possibility that you will enjoy the series. Especially if you already have an interest in medieval life, weaponry and warfare.
@DonJorginho people are properly hungry for it to fail. Every AC sells over 10million, especially the later ones that "no one likes"
I'm personally glad it's delayed for selfish reasons, in that KCDII is far more important to me. But AC Shadows is still a game that I'm really looking forward to, and f*** what "everyone else" thinks about that haha.
Well, the common folk won't be getting PC's any time soon for their common games. But you can easily argue that PC is cutting more in to the console market for games that aren't Sport and Shoot, so the need for exclusives is semi-vital on that front.
If Steam OS or some universally more "console like" OS start hitting prebuilt PC's and you get more PC's designed specifically for living room/media room gaming, free from the tyranny and sh*tness that is MS Windows workplace-centric OS ruining everything, and also then get games from all publishers, then it could be even more people leaving the console space behind.
I'm thinking that maybe I'll start GoW Ragnarok, too, as the weather seems right for it. But will only commit if I think I can beat it before Feb 4th. If not, then i'll just pootle about in a few older games when i'm done with Indy. JCBP
@riceNpea was it around the time he played/became possessed by Andy Kaufman? That was quite an intense role, and spiritual to boot, so I wouldn't be surprised if it changed something within him
2025 being a big year for games means 2025 should also be a big year for PushSquare. So let's dial it up to 1000% and work those writers' fingers to the bone 😛
And with the Game of the Year coming out in little over a month's time, it's going to be a strong start 😉
@Zuljaras remember, even if it takes a while to get into, keep going. Even people that love the Witcher (me) initially took quite a while to really click with it and get it, and maybe even put the game down for about a year before trying again. But once you do pass that period it's obvious why the box says "over 1000 awards" 😁

Re: Wonder Woman Game in Turmoil, Is Still 'Years Away from Release', New Report Claims
@ThorsHammer ah, good spot. Edited. I wasn't paying attention to what I was writing 😂
I still don't think people ever tire of fantasy and true RPG's though, and LotR is made for one of those.
Re: Wonder Woman Game in Turmoil, Is Still 'Years Away from Release', New Report Claims
Could they maybe have licensed a story driven deep RPG LotR title instead? 🙃
Marvel/DC is a phase, fantasy and RPGs are forever.
Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Immediately Sells 1 Million Copies
@DennisReynolds I'll probably forget at some point, but some random in passing mentioned a jakub or something that cheated him out of everything at dice, I won't say who told me as it was actually another random funny emergent moment. All i'll say is Hail Henry. But it sounds like another unmarked opportunity to find some good loaded dice to me.

Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Immediately Sells 1 Million Copies

@PorkChopExpress it is literally stunning and absolutely huge. I thought it'd be a mild upgrade in quality, despite positive reviews.
Mind boggling stuff.
Re: Sony Cancels Bluepoint, Bend Studio PS5 Games, One Being a Live-Service God of War Title
It's over half of their studios they have had doing this sh**, right? I'm genuinely dumbstruck. Please send Bungie and anyone who recommended any of this sh*t in the first place out of the earth's atmosphere, cheers.
The header should simply read: For f***s sake! 🤦♂️
Re: Sony Cancels Bluepoint, Bend Studio PS5 Games, One Being a Live-Service God of War Title
Re: Poll: Will the Switch 2 Compete with PS5?
My question is: Will 'Switch 2' even come anywhere near to being a rival to the Switch itself? Switch players aren't exactly hardcore gamers overall, so will adding power really inspire them to move on from their Switches?
I think it will be interesting to see who they do target with the console.
Re: Escalation as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Script Eclipses That of Baldur's Gate 3
Daniel Vavra can happily relax and say "I wrote Mafia 1, Mafia 2, KCD and KCD2, what have you done?" It's a strong resume.
So weird that there's doubters to quality 😅
Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Lingering PS5 Pro Issues Reportedly Fixed
One of the worst studios at optimising games fixes the PSSR issue they were having?
Good signs for everyone, right?
The third game might be a bit more playable on the PS5 Pro nearer to launch than all the other versions that are forced out too quick, too 😅
Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Script Reputedly Dwarfs That of Lesser RPGs
Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Script Reputedly Dwarfs That of Lesser RPGs
Someone genuinely posted "Modern slop" in a comments section about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 😁
And for some reason (I assume because of the first few posts) this comments section has gone seriously off the rails 😂
@ApostateMage assuming you will be there Day 1? We'll have to get a thread going in the forum soon
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
As Indiana Jones is all wrapped up, I find myself playing...
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Where I will probably be fighting hoards of bandits in the dark

and maybe helping Hans to delight the butcher's daughter with his own... lordly sausage. Ahem.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Delayed Again, Now Out 20th March
@DonJorginho people are properly hungry for it to fail. Every AC sells over 10million, especially the later ones that "no one likes"
I'm personally glad it's delayed for selfish reasons, in that KCDII is far more important to me. But AC Shadows is still a game that I'm really looking forward to, and f*** what "everyone else" thinks about that haha.
Re: Talking Point: Is PlayStation Right in Saying PC Isn't a 'Major Risk' to Console Business?
Well, the common folk won't be getting PC's any time soon for their common games. But you can easily argue that PC is cutting more in to the console market for games that aren't Sport and Shoot, so the need for exclusives is semi-vital on that front.
If Steam OS or some universally more "console like" OS start hitting prebuilt PC's and you get more PC's designed specifically for living room/media room gaming, free from the tyranny and sh*tness that is MS Windows workplace-centric OS ruining everything, and also then get games from all publishers, then it could be even more people leaving the console space behind.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 562
Whipping butts in the snow in Indiana Jones.
I'm thinking that maybe I'll start GoW Ragnarok, too, as the weather seems right for it. But will only commit if I think I can beat it before Feb 4th. If not, then i'll just pootle about in a few older games when i'm done with Indy. JCBP
Re: Rumour: PlayStation Is Working on Reviving Some of Its 'Deep Cut' Franchises
I've also unearthed some rumours of something new at SIE called the: Give Team Asobi Anything They Want to Make Protocol.
Re: Jim Carrey 'Open' to Reprising Robotnik Role in Subsequent Sonic Movies
@riceNpea was it around the time he played/became possessed by Andy Kaufman? That was quite an intense role, and spiritual to boot, so I wouldn't be surprised if it changed something within him
Re: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Review Codes Sent Out Super Early, Dev Confidence Seems Sky High
Jesus Christ Be Praised
Re: PS5 Users Can't Play Enormous GTA 5 Liberty City Mod, But GTA 6 Will Be 'Worth Waiting For'
Just so you know: there's hundreds of other games due to release well before GTA 6 comes out 🫡
Re: Happy New Year from the Push Square Team
Happy New Year!
2025 being a big year for games means 2025 should also be a big year for PushSquare. So let's dial it up to 1000% and work those writers' fingers to the bone 😛
And with the Game of the Year coming out in little over a month's time, it's going to be a strong start 😉
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 561
Indiana Jones and the Plunger of Doom
Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Action Game of 2024
@shogunrok
Can we have a category for 'Whiny Gamer Controversy of the Year'? Damn near every game had one.
The top 3 on this list alone were: mtx, Fast-Travel, T*ts & China 😅
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 560
See you on the path ⚔️
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 560
Properly started Indiana Jones and the Great Circle last night, so hopefully going to get stuck in to that when I can.
KCD is still tempting too, however. And it pairs so nicely with Andrzej Sapkowski's 'The Tower of Fools'
JCBP and have a happy holidays
Re: Rumour: The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Is Getting an Unreal Engine 5 Remake in 2025
It'll be out before the Unreal Engine 5 Gothic Remake, regardless 💀
